gianluca zunda is an upcoming dj/producer livin in a geographic area which gave birth to many producers who had an active role in writing dance music history all over the world gianluca is very young but even though this is his first single, he got helped by a couple of fine producers... this track has been tested a lot in our clubs with massive response from the the dance crowd.

fine arranged melodies from multiple sound sources, as stated in his biography, are the building blocks of which daniel mehlhart considers to be the essence of good music. putting what he preaches into practice has affirmed the 22-year-old swiss born, frankfurt am main resident, as one of the most exciting new talents in the underground tech-house movement. his most acclaimed release was the harp-tinged origami, released last summer on kindisch, which catapulted him into the record bags and charts of a slew of seasoned djs during the end of last summer. >scharade< is an example of young daniel sticking to what he does best, mixing and blending techno. atmospheres and sonic images while still animating an organic and natural vibe over the tracks. liberal amounts of percussion and a middle eastern or asian vocal dramatically pitched this tune beyond recognition watermark with a style and a vibe that he has helped to advance. the house roots of >distracted conscience< are present right from the onset. using a double pump kick to inject a pinch more of energy into the already flourishing habitat of off-kilter and spooky sound effects. so many in fact it is easy to see how he came up with the name, >distracted conscience<, as there are more effects floating around in this track than thoughts in the head of an 8-year-old who forgot his daily dose of ritalin. he turns to an ethnic vocal on >alura< again, but keeping the overall mood of this outing a bit deeper. he pulls out even more percussion instruments including extra shakers, toms and bongos all marching along harmoniously. this is a head down, hands-up, side-to-side bopper that just keeps quietly elevating as subtle elements are added and subtracted throughout the duration of the tune. a coherent composition and dj tool all in one. although this is his second release there are no signs of a sophomore slump anywhere in site, as daniel mehlharts talent lies in his unique, but subtle ability to gel different eleme

after several months of underground pressure the orbital classic kinetic by golden girls (paul & phil hartnoll along with mike hazell) is finally getting a full release. one of the most ecstatic rave stabs ever is at the heart of this record and has now been reworked for 09 dancefloors by floorplay music - the label run by hot brighton production duo prok & fitch. the story began a year ago with prok & fitchs golden shower remix. instead of going down the bootleg or cover route they paid their dues and licensed the original track for their new label floorplay and set about getting some hot names to remix it. top of the pile is atfc who takes the original and gives it a tough house makeover. this man has been responsible for a few classic records of his own over the years so this combination is unstoppable. with the original orbital mix included this is an all time classic tastefully revisited.

part 1 of the new double-release from tiefschwarz aims at the heart of house music: soul. “on&on” is a first-class arranged club track. starting off with a wonderful mellow theme, that is adumbrated by the bass line in an one-and-a-half minute long exposition. the track ups the tempo with an additional hi-hat resolving into a shuffle beat. in double time, we move on towards the first break. here an edgy, minor key-chord sequence is introduced, making it obvious for everyone, that this track is gonna take off. eventually the keys function as a counterpoint to the classic bass line. a four-to-the-floor “on&on” vocal sample takes over after the break, adding another percussive aspect. as the track goes on a mulitiplicity of side elements sets in - no room for tediousness! in the end the “on&on” vocals resolve into “it’s so simple… . who knows, but this could be a broad hint to all the tech-house academics out there. no matter what, this grande finale raises a smile from every last sweaty soul on the dancefloor. with “best inn” on the b-side tiefschwarz create a dance classic, dressed in 2009 fashion. reminiscent of long gone nu-groove times, a traditional house beat - including a tiny off-beat tinker bell - blasts out of the speakers. a slured synth-organ provides the track with that certain edgyness. here, the brothers keep it laid-back yet exciting at the same time. this piece goes on and on and on - and you yourself run alongside, not wanting to pause. but watch out! at the latest in the second break, tiefschwarz put nostalgia to the test via some shockingly muffled metal drums. one of these moments, where you wish yourself back into the middle of an eight-hour deep-house set in 1992. the train departs. one thrillingly beautiful landscape after another runs by, until the warm sun strokes of the south suddenly rouse you out of slumber. arrived

fresh inspiring minimal techno / techhouse .the a side is for sergio parrado, who offer us, a tech-house track, direct to the dance floor. tanto mini me vuelve maxi is one of those atemporal tracks, with a powerful and groove bass, crispy synths, awesome efx and a melody that twists itself in a surprising way. a long duration track ready for the more demanding dancefloor. on the bside, we meet 2 tracks from the valencian guy oscar barila. the first one is anxiety, an authentic bomb that, with no doubt, we will listen to many of the big ones. the song has a phrenetic rythm, a wrecker groove and psychedelic and mutant synths, that convert the track in a mortal weapon for the peaktime. the second song of the b side is giro tutto, powerful and smart techno in constant evolution. its percusive rythm is adorned with an acid and bubbly synth that unleashes in 2 explosive breaks.

this obscure lost soundtrack for an even more obscure (and also lost and never finished) italia violenta cop movie was recently discovered when i bought the dusty reel tapes from a restaurant owner in fiumicino, a seaside town near rome. panter 777 aka il labirinto di roma violenta aka the maze of violence, he told me, was directed by gervasio giardano in 1981 and was considered too (politically) explicit by the movie production company who dropped the project after the first screening. the soundtrack, an explosion of wahwah funk riffs and juicy analog synthesizers, was composed by an obscure band called nacho patrol. the restaurant owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was one of the band members and composed most of the tracks. time to look busy again, as function aka dave sumner comes rampaging through the streets of downtown berlin, kicking aside lesser producers and mauling all who stand in his way. not that you would know it from the supremely controlled affair that is his edit of >variance<. moody in the extreme, this edit sees beautiful interplay between delays and reverbs but without the track sinking into the predictable mire of dub techno. space is indeed the place..
