>gable is the story of two drummers who decided to play the guitar and a girl who learnt to play the keyboard by sticking coloured sticky labels on the keys.< french art-pop pioneers gable have been causing a significant stir of late, captivating audiences with their unique luxury diy. having spent the past year experimenting with a bizarre collection of odds and ends lying round their studio and home, they have created the fabulously eccentric and catchy album >cute horse cut<.

we are pleased to announce that one of our favourite producers justus köhncke has finally given in to the constant barrage of requests to work with us. yes, welcome to the rank of nang cosmonauts justus. he has kindly agreed to work on a new artist album for us for release in late 2011 / 2012 but in the time being we just had to pop the mans cherry and get some köhncke-tunage released on nang.
first up is an ep of two brand new compositions. fussmachine and renewal. we have also included a remix and wrapped it all into the fussmachine ep.

g.i.disco - an 80s history of cold war s hottest music in west-germany berlin local dj heroes kalle kuts and daniel w. best a.k.a. g.i.disco have compiled an excellent 80s soul, funk, r & b and disco selection. it combines representative music of that time with informative liner notes about the german historical background (which also is an important part of 20th century s world history), international artist quotes and worldwide renowned art by berlin based photographer frank thiel to an unique history lesson and listening experience. soul, funk and r&b from the us became a worldwide dance and clubbing movement during the 70s when it turned disco. in the late 70s and 80s more and more new electronic instruments like synthesizers and drum machines were added to the horn riffs and piano licks, bringing the funk back on the dance floor while still leaving it s soul untouched

the b.t.s are a detroit deep house live act crew. this is there first release in the world. the ex-member of underground resistance, derwin hall bang the dam walls down with this groove. this remake track with the late ron banks vox sample >treat me like man< is a detroit killer! derwin had some extra production on the drums by delano smith. this track is so hot, me (eddie fowlkes) and my momma had to get this for the cityboy music. what a great track for their first release.the black exterrestrials come back with >the journey< on the flip side. this deep minimal soul house groove has that element of a underground banger with euro flavor - with lead vocal by angie sexy ass!

wavetest are a new collective from zurich, 4 young guys in their early 20s which have their roots in disco and house. two of them have already released a single on chicagos mathematics label under their late invitation project name. they are also a great live-act with bass, keys and drum machines and their dj kejeblos is one of the most promising hopes of zurichs new generation. he is a resident at zukunft and was discovered and supporte by our buddie lexx.
we are totally into their groove as we really like their open-minded approach and we honestly believe in them. their tunes impress by a really forward thinking attitude and can be played at any time during the night. this is a perfectsummertime single and we just had so much fun playing the tracks out. because to us this is exactly what we call b-boy house.

that juan maclean is just a bundle of contradictions. here hes created one of the years best mix cds and not just a proper party mix, which it certainly is, but even what you might call an >important< mix, a timely lesson in the enduring spirit of house musicÑand how does he choose to describe the process of putting it together? as an >existential tailspin<!

the third in struts inspiration information studio collaboration series brings together an intriguing pairing between one of africas great bandleaders, mulatu astatke, with the next level musicianship of the heliocentrics collective from the mighty roster of stones throw / now again. known primarily through the successful ethiopiques album series and the film soundtrack to jim jarmuschs ?broken flowers, mulatu astatke is one of ethiopias foremost musical ambassadors. his selfstyled ethio-jazz sound flourished during the swinging addisÑ era of the late 60s as he successfully fused western jazz and funk with traditional ethiopian folk melodies. the heliocentrics have become known as one of the uks foremost free-thinking collectives of musicians, inspired by a wide palette covering sun ra, james brown, david axelrod and all manner of psych, afro and eastern sounds. the collective have featured on records by madlib and dj shadow. now a fixture within the stones throw / now again roster, they forged their own genre-breaking directions in the astral analogue groove on their 2007 debut album, out there. a number of tour dates around the release and headline slots at festivals throughout 2009 have been confirmed.

after the resounding success of lunarjam001 the leeds based lunar cadets ticker & cristoidz return with some seriously out there, and rare as roast beef edits for your late night perusal. their first release flirted and got frisky with hott city, loveride and david byrne and put them through the lunar jam cosmic mixer. they have forsaken such formalities with this release though, and have unearthed four tracks from even deeper and darker corners of their collections, and given them a serious going over. already garnering much support from such balearic luminaries as prins thomas & moonboots as always, limited to initial press only polysleeve and photocopied inlay!

repress - the brilliant initial outing from kerri chandler on large music gets a re-issue and sounds just as fresh and influential as it did in 1995. darker and more minimal than kerri s output at the time on labels such as king street and freetown, this four track ep set the tone and sound of large for most of the late 1990s. all four tracks feature the trademark chandler bassline, jazzed-out trippy chords, and chopped up vocals. this is a timeless classic and a must have for any serious house vinyl connoisseur.
