skylax 136 arrives in the form of a killer ep from none other than lady blacktronika. most will know her from her own imprint, sound black recordings, where she has served up some of the best deep house and slo-mo beatdown to come from the us since the labels inception in 2010. such a stellar output has led many to refer to her as the first lady of both the genres she frequents, and with this new offering of pure-grade deep house, she shows no sign of letting go of that title.

paula temple joins the r&s fold as the first female solo artist to be signed in the labels 30 years history. her first release speck of the future was way back in 2002 and gained her the support of jeff mills, claude young, dave clarke and the late john peel amongst others. after co-developing one of the first midi controllers for dj/live performance and teaching kids in her neighbourhood how to dj, paula temple finally returns to her first love - techno music.

mike storm comes from the underground scene of the 072 area in the netherlands. in the late 90s he started as a dj, soon he moved from turntables to his first equipment and started performing live-sets on various local partys. while the underground scene was highly involved electro and techno music, mike learned from it’s established djs & producers and how to work with analog equipment. as of this day, he still produces his tracks still without any computer sequencer. mike storm is most of all inspired by the sound from detroit and minimal dark techno and his biggest passion is performing live on stage. in 2012 mikes coming out of the underground scene and sees his music is being appreciated by the likes of jeff mills and dimi angelis. both djs frequently use his tracks in their sets.

kool vibes groovin ep oozes classic french house vibes form the get-go thanks to the opener no more wastin. stocato rhode stabs are met with quick-jangled percussion, cut vocals (like the french only know how) and thumping beats. underground settles down a little, maintaining a sultry groove with a chord driven hustle, while groovin is upbeat french house at its best. feel it features more juicy and looped up sample action with call and response vocals thrown in for added effect. a must have for the french house connoisseur.

next release from deso records is a fantastic ep by deymare, deymare has had releases on labels such as morris audio quintessentials, wilson, local talk and many many more. this guy knows how to produce quality deep house. on remixes we have label hocho desos and the new name alida. be sure to check out this quality release on this beautiful limited yellow vinyl.

it has been a memorable year for the luv shack. release after release, props after props, watching the guys build on a solid foundations and take it up a notch each time. if you listen to their first release (again), and then this new release, you will see just how far they have travelled in such a small time frame. and yes, it started with a couple of mini compilations and eps to see what the reaction would be. the reaction was good, actually no, the reaction was great, the right jocks took to the guys and the early eps and hence since, the luv shack posse have been locked up in a studio ever since. they have been productive, and more to the point, excelling in that production. it is going to be a brilliant 2013.
