tom stephans chumbomundo label is proud to announce a new series of eps highlighting hot new artists in scene: headztom really felt that he needed to give new artist a break on his label, as he receives so many cool tracks, whilst playing abroad. ep 1 has a true international feel with artists from the usa, italy, uk and the netherlands, covering tribal, twisted, prog and electro grooves.

first single to be lifted from the forthcoming lp is a flawless representation of some of the freakishly danceable tracks contained therein. a wholly original mashup of electronics, my heart rate rapid is sheer falsetto laden, drum battering brilliance. although metronomys elliptical, insidious, multi coloured art pop sounds nothing like colognes legendary purveyors of prog disco, can do offer clues to the lineage the band belong to. add early brian eno, sparks, devo, talking heads, soft cell, and then scratch your head for more recent examples of abstract music, full of experiment, risk, and individuality that somehow resolves itself into pop that makes you sing and dance and feel like a big kid and you realise that you cant think of any, because metronomy are, in the current pop milieu, an utterly unique proposition.

superb new 3 tracker. the original a side monster by perc itself is a killer with its driving minimal feel and weighty production. the remix on the flip comes from an excellent production duo currrently delivering some very hot material - bart skillz and anton pieete - aka district one. their reinterpretation adds even more weight to the original and drives the track to a new level. to finish off the ep nicely we have the bonus track - work softer. an excellent package

uks ben wijay starts canute music, a sub-label of phreakin recordings displaying his more adventurous techno and tougher house music concoctions. bringing a slightly harder feel than the phreakin output, but remaining left of centre with quirky melodies groovy percussion. >poisoned potato< starts in dark techno waters with a deep acid bass line, then blossoms into almost border community territory with anthemic distorted chords and quirky breakdowns.>feke< delves deeper with an arrangement that goes from hauntingly minimal into an aggressive staccato riff, then morphing back into itself with deeper melodies. definitely aimed at the 3am dance-floor and will appeal to lovers of the detroit techno sound through to the more obscure villalobos territory. gathering big support from the likes of charles webster, john aquaviva, aldrin and mixmags >house single of the month< (feb 08)

in the beginning the was a dream, a dream to become part of the living womb of good music. a dream of being real, true to myself and i set this dream to fly high. days and years passed by and i didn t seem to find response but one day in the arkest hour came the light and then i knew i had to hustle it s a song about my determination to express myself widely whitin the realm of good music, won t be selling my soul, won t be taking the easy path, its all about what is real, training harder and harding until i get what i want: the pure sound of goodness for the dancefloor, for my life and the whole world. that s how i hustle. abicah soul confuzed well this track started as another track but i took the sounds from anohter track put with this that how i came up with the idea confused .i started listening sounded good i stuck with it.onw word deep stephen rigmaiden jeepin basically jeepin was done and i was listening to acapella s for like 2 weeks trying to find the right vocal snippets. my thoughts were how was i going to get franck s interest? i knew the track was done but for him to pick it up it needed a vocal. then i came across the perfect vox. i used a montage of a few different vocals, some hip hop elements, some jazz elements, some gospel elements, ill leave up to you to decipher. i knew i wanted a raw, kinda hip hop type of feelingas well, something you can get on the dance floor and go uggh!, that s my shit!! or damn i gotta get in that circle and show em whats up! i made it for the dancers out there, b- boys, house dancers , or jus ya regular club kids. trying to get the crowd hype is always my intentions , i feel this track does jus that. now get on the dance floor and recognize the sound!

played by move d., deetron, agnes, lerosa, quarion, … attention: limited to 350 copies! hot on the heels of his real soon limited release, berlinbased producer hauke freer offers another fab piece of deep house music! hauke has an old-school production approach, working with contemporary software but using a palette of mainly vinyl samples to give a loose, rawsounding edge. all 3 tracks maintain a deep, dark yet smooth feel, using some lo-fi percussion. hauke is keeping a >minimal< edge, fusing detroit flavoured electronics with a rough berlin feel. old-fashioned in a good way - just the way we like it! hauke freer grew up in a small town near hamburg and moved to berlin in 2000 to work for the techno label kanzleramt. after spending a year in australia djing and working for the label future classic, hauke returned to berlin to work for the resopal schallware label

french artist based in paris. this prolific musician gets noticed by the od records label that has produced his 2nd ep in 2006 mixing in all his productions influences from the 80s, 90s and 2000s through cheap but stylish synth sounds, melodies that underlie a certain sense of tragic and his own gimmicks, he builds tracks socked in old school house, minimal and electropop that immerse us in a cold, sensitive and personal ambiance.

support comes from chloe, simon baker, rob mello, nuno dos santos. two face was featured on the recent moodmusic 10 years mix-cd by sasse, with a softbottom bass but hardhitting percussion and synthwork, this has been a secret weapon for many. lars sandberg aka funk d void loved the original so much that he promised to deliver a remix - and he did. slamming claps combined with a early strictly rhythm stabs and immense breakdowns drives this to the top. watt zone is a totla diffent beast, based on a more house feel, combining dreamy synth yet driving beats , this will be a hot one for the more discerning floors

(will saul)-. already suported by argy, clé, dave dk, emerson, karotte, m.a.n.d.y., huntemann, phonique, agoria, chloé, d julz, fex, laurent garnier, sian, jeff bennett, jamie jones, mike monday, st. sebastian, will saul and many more. martin landsky is back with another strong release: >man high<. honni soit qui mal y pense, >man high< doesnt intent to glamourise drug abuse. its a tribute to captain joe kittinger and the man high project, a pre space-age military project that took men in balloons to the upper layers of the earths atmosphere. not only took the balloon joe kittinger to a record high, he also performed a sky dive from 75.000 ft. imagine how yo feel, falling free from the stratosphere, close to unconciousness, rotating like mad with 22 g … martins track >man high< captures a bit of that vibe with its live played wildpitch- like oscilating synth modulations. all three tracks on the ep are breathing martin landskys special analogue sound treatments and a rocking old school vibe. b1 builds a bit more subtle while b2 is an offbeat driven dancefloor smasher. brilliant release

unsoaked girl (a1) is probably one of the deepest and best works that rush ever delivered. soulful strings and a bassline that sounds a lot like early saunderson makes it hard to believe that mr. snare-and-bass has been working here. wonder why he didnt keep up like that… one time 300 unit repress only !
