that future starts right here with the release of the check point ep and a title track that thunders straight out of the blocks with its steamroller kick drum and mighty bass synth. wade then strips things back, rolling out pulsing bass and percussive vibes on dark shadows before dropping more imperious drum work as he closes the ep with sunday in the sky.

dan mela & dodi paleses what ever not reach release number 6 presenting here the super talented marco erroi aka goldfinger (also co-founder of common series). an ep going from the electronic deep influences of the m.t.s to the detroit raw sound of housemate.

for the third in its fifth anniversary release series, stroboscopic artefacts brings together tracks from xhin, tommy four seven, kangding ray and dsrcd. xhins blade moth, previously released digitally by meerestief, finds today new (and remastered) life on sa. it is deep and propulsive, with scattershot percussion reverberating around finely tuned kicks and sci-fi oscillations. the detailed sound design and experimental quirks are typical of the producer, they made for a stunning debut album on sa in 2011, and here elevate the functional 4x4 skeleton into a fantastically ethereal piece of dance music

continuing a strong line of afro inspired works, men like pedestrian & jasperdrum drop another scintillating technoid excursion on 2nd drop. deeper, moodier with dynamically carved esoteric angles, *origins* moves forward from the superb kalakuta, the afrobeat meets bass music bomb supported by giles peterson, scuba, midland, mr scruff and many more, from last year, to deliver a heads down destroyer. off kilter, wonky and expertly crafted, pedestrian & jasperdrums *origins* is pure class, led by a host of syncopated percussion, haunting flute lines and distorted vocal samples, this is what fela would have sounded like if he had teamed up with carl craig in 2014! on the flip we welcome alix perez, best known for his dnb production but widely talented as shown by his arp101 outings on the likes of eglo. here, alix takes the tools to kalakuta, transforming the originals afrocentricity into a tense, punchy roller, dominated by a bass line which literally jumps in to your ears. toss in a stabby synth line, rifle shot drums and plenty of bass with space, this a beautifully crafted refix.

originally a weekly broadcast radio show on the dutch-based xt3 radio, reclaim your city (ryc) gained its reputation as a highly acclaimed podcast series with its headquarters in berlin. since 2012, eighty-eight podcasts have been published from some of the biggest names in contemporary techno, jeroen search, adriana lopez, fabrizio lapiana, exium and jonas kopp to name a few. with such success through its podcast series, ryc has decided to take matters to the next level and establish a label using its powerful concept as a platform.

for its first release ryc has decided to showcase berlin and paris, two cities historically known for placing great significance and expertise on the genre. berlin, consistently home to a resonating techno culture, competes here with paris who has been on the rise from beneath its bourgeois history. for this special first release zadig and antigone have been chosen to represent parisian techno, as blind observatory and subjected will in full support of berlin.

if *the wanderer* was the record that brought romanthonys obscure blackmale label to a wider dj audience, *testify* was the release that cemented its reputation as one of the labels to check for in the us import section. here are brandnew remixes: jimmy edgar, in true blackmale style, takes romans original chops it in his sampler and lays the results over a thundering distortion tinged beat. it is proper raw jacking business, perfect for small dark rooms with a few hundred sweaty bodies. waifs & strays deliver a brilliant modern update complete with an air-punching sax solo (something that was definitely one of the nails in the deep house coffin the first time round and the kind of thing that could get you shot if you used in the 00s). illyus & barrientos deliver what is arguably their strongest remix to date dropping snips of the original over a quite brilliant bassline groove. ed one & boddenalso opt for some bassline action but add in classic organ stabs and todd edwards style vocal chops to their big-ass bass wobbler. lastly, we have the previously unreleased cd#9 vocal version which as usual, features one of romans deeper, more organic mixes.

following on from her highly acclaimed ett lp on editions mego klara lewis presents 4 new works which further her signature explorations of field recordings, electronics, rhythm, sound and atmosphere. here lewis exemplifies her uncanny ability to harness the world outside in order to reconstruct and re-present this as amorphous musical matter. these 4 new tracks exude a certain ambiguity where standard signposts such as rhythm, ambience, texture, light and dark remain as elusive as they are present. whilst bypassing passive or photographic representation of the source material these works withhold a strong emotional quality resulting in a confident and at times brutal musical manifestation. as suggested by the title, msuic resides in a zone at once familiar and slightly off kilter, a world of lewis devising in which the listener is warmly encouraged to enter and explore. msuic is another superb collection of music as fantastic matter.

strait ii dat aka ronald burrell (of burrell brothers fame) dropped this scorching 4 track ep of garage house pressure way back in 1993 and here in 2014, it sounds as fresh as ever.

ruhig (audiolouis from natch records) debuts on midgar with a deeply atmospheric ep. crumbled beats, gloomy synths and meticulously crafted basslines are the order of the day here, resulting in some incredible introspective techno! the midgar imprint continues to explore the themes found in its first release whilst evolving to embrace a warmer, heated sound.
