after releasing hvl s away from everything we know 12inch back in 2015, organic analogue welcome the georgian producer back to present his long-awaited debut album. as a resident of the much-vaunted club bassiani, hvl conceived ostati as a document of the sound of tbilisi - centred on warm, outboard house and techno but with a noticeably understated mood. the club tracks take a pared down approach that favours space and meditation over bold brush strokes, but between the teeth-gnashing bite of -askinkila- or the rough and ready acid workout -continuum,- the sound is gutsy and dripping with character. ostati spells out a space where dim lights and mysterious corners provide a playground for wild ideas to dart around in the dark. the overall atmosphere may appear subdued, but it s merely a cover for the fiery spirit lurking underneath.

canadian duo mdd make their slam debut following on from their first release in 2018 on and imprint inner surface. unforgiving, dark and distorted techno at its best. somber vocals and murky atmospheres create a wicked tension throughout the ep. manni dee also features for the first time on slam and gives his contribution by remixing opal fall into a driving dance floor stomper.

italian legend francesco farfa debuts on memento with “synchronicity 13”, with remix honours and duties left to m.r.e.u.x. and the analogue cops. farfa s long-lasting original track is a dancefloor skyrocket designed with skilful craftmanship. the humonguos drums and the driving bass line stockpile the explosive potential of a synthetic flock of sound, eventually becoming unwordly bloops pierced by evocative strings. the analogue cops rework the evocative potential of the original with a raw jacking grab in their “dance of the condor remix”, anchoring a biting kick drum and an highly corrosive acid bass. finally, m.r.e.u.x delivers his “green trip mix”, a very effective minimalistic reinterpretation, built on pounding rhythms and hypnotic sequences.

albrecht la brooy s analogue attic imprint welcomes citizen maze onto its roster with the four-track serenity in the woods ep. australian duo albrecht la brooy have been steadily carving out a name for themselves over the past few years with their jazz-inflected take on deep house via the likes of apollo/r&s, night tide and of course their own analogue attic imprint which has become a home for their own output as well as fellow australian artists like sleep d, rings around saturn and more. here though we see the label offer up the inaugural ep from melbourne s adam mccoy aka citizen maze. leading on the package is the ten-minute natural playgroun , embracing the labels signature field recording background aesthetic whilst stirring in organic drum grooves, fluttering pads and jazzy sax licks throughout. glade hollow follows with bumpy, off-kilter drums and ethereal chords at its core whilst horn lines and twinkling synth melodies wander across its eight-minute duration. moonlight sanctuary opens the flip-side, edging into darker territories with murky dubbed out synth flourishes, robust drums and tension building strings before title-track serenity in the woods rounds out the package, laying focus on a snaking sub bass groove, metallic percussive shuffles and expansive atmospherics.

albrecht la brooy s analogue attic imprint returns this may with a solo project from one half of the duo, alex albrecht, under his newly formed melquiades guise... the past few years have seen albrecht la brooy steadily hone their unique spin on house & techno via self-released gems & acclaimed projects on night tide, voyage records and butter sessions, culminating with the release of their debut long player tidal river on apollo/r&s earlier this year . this solo material from alex s new alias (soon to be debuted on scissor & thread) takes a more dancefloor orientated approach. the material recorded live, retaining an improvised feel and managing to capture the surreal and mysterious atmosphere of the australian bush. combining atmospheric field recordings, jazz tinged double bass-licks and bright piano elements, all woven together with the label s trademark intricately programmed rhythms, the bluff ep is an engaging, mesmerising and addictive addition to the label s already well-loved output...

organic analogue broadens its remit on this killer boogie inflected diversion from italian producer croza. where the label has been often associated with deeper techno and electro, it sounds right at home exploring the moog bass licks and snappy drum programming that pours like a fine wine out of every track. night heat is the perfect lead track, all steamy synth throb and funky guitar licks, while feel turns up the pressure with a proto house burner that would have set the paradise garage alight. also look out for a rare appearance from ad bourke, who cruises on to the record to deliver a blissed out version of night heat for the smokiest of sundown situations.

new clouds material from calum macleod and liam robertson can mean only one thing: these things will go quick, and as you can imagine, you ll want to get them in your dj sets just in time for the nye debauchery. the duo land on british techno imprint overlee assembly, kicking the carnage off with a perc remix of tuned to a dead channel, something of a toxic headbanger with a gnarly bass at its core. this is followed by a much sleeker, more restrained tuned version of chained to a dead channel, and then by a jungle/breakcore driven version from headcore wreckage, and an acid-laden, drum-nutty hardcore tuned again version.

with fractal s analogue assassin ep, dubliner dave hayden (alias roguefrequency) delivers four acid/techno bangers openly displaying industrial influences. jerked off sturdy analog gear, the solid 808, 909, 4/4 rythmics is skirmished by cavelike 303 acidic patterns. rearguard consists of sunless modular synths and gritty atmospheric drones. as a certificate of choice, the release has already been supported by dj s such as unwelt, errorbeauty & and. like always on kromatones, it s limited to 300 copies pressed on 140gr. 12- vinyls coming coloured, this time with transparent blue. so, obivously we got here some rather stealth yet smashing tactical cruise sonic machine!

gaja makes his south london analogue material debut with this 5-track ripper of an ep. after discussing a no holds barred approach the tracks were recorded as live takes in gaja’s studio in berlin. the result is a collection of tracks that consist of hard, noisy, mesmerizing, distorted techno.
