globe trotting crate digger daniel t, exploded on to the scene with a string of releases after his amazing debut tetrachromat on young adults a couple of years back. daniel has been growing some serious gems in his laboratory. two gems that have come to maturity and have been plucked for the fahrenheit/celsius ep on cosmic pint glass records. daniel has crafted something special in these two cuts. beautiful, bouncy and positive tracks that work as well on the dance floor as in the soundtrack to a road trip. after hearing them, cpg called in their top men lauer and jack pattern for remix duties.

at 21 years old, mathis ruffing has already managed to craft a signature sound, elegant and mature with a focus on melody and texture. rewardingly diverse, the ep touches on several genres and influences, ranging from cosmic to earthy dancefloor cuts, acid, grime, proper electro, idm and ambient. the common thread on this record is the search for balance between heartfelt melodies on one hand and on the other a form of immediacy, raw and almost industrial. ruffing has no trouble finding this balance and adding five terrific tracks to the banlieue catalogue.

since 1987, frak have been everyone s favourite, premier swedish synthesizer-touching weirdos. even if most people hadn t heard of them until 4 years ago. and yet, world of frak is as long as it is wide. as blue as it is black. as ominous as it is glorious. as dirty as it is hairdryer. sweet it is as yellow paper as. all of the above is a perfect example of how trying to convey what frak is in the crass form of words is ultimately fruitless. here is a double 12inch vinyl product from ultimate hits featuring eight audio recordings from frak: three men who have known each other since at least 1987. the sleeve was lovingly hand screen-printed at the studio of house of traps, and features the colours commonly known as pink and black.

after nearly a year has passed by - and kitted out with heavy hitting drum timbres, hook laden nuances and a textured palette of unique effects - south african born esa makes a welcome return to the burek family fold with another ep that skirts the boundaries of the dance-floor and soaks up the sights and sounds of those on the peripheral edges. a family thats consisted of many strays and deviants being welcomed in, esas ep is another mellifluous fit for the croatian based house label that prides itself on beats that drip with greasy flavour and a fine follow on from his killer ‘serenity in a forbidden place ep for the label in july of 2013.

wikipedia describes tapenade as little bits of shit chopped up small to spread on dry bread. technically speaking tapenade 2 is a remix of a mash-up of bootleg disco edits, mixed in a blender in a kitchen in the back of a nightclub somewhere in the hague. ahh yes thats just what im looking for, let me have a listen...!

877 records join with longtime friends and collaborators to present the well rounded rebel alliance ep. klic and riskotheque lead the way with their track compton, a bass heavy anthem already rocking the clubs and doing damage on radio. stomping 808&#8242,,,,,s, sing along vocals and acid arpeggios join perfectly to form this instant classic. donga & blake more than do justice to the original with the compton give a dam jam remix. a perfect example of their sublimely considered approach, the reworking is an altogether deeper four to the floor roller using only finely selected elements from the original. well rounded in the house! next up is skeleton grin by donga & blake + richta. this original composition features vocals by donga over an intense and metallic techno-esque bass and kick. we are true believers in the power of a b-side and this is no exception.

currently two of the busiest men in contemporary deep house, alex agore and james johnston have still found the time to establish their joint no matter what recordings as a potent outlet. this sixth release sees johnston at the buttons for sole control after a couple of split releases and the consumer ep demonstrates a further refinement of his own distinct brand of house music. arriving on transparent vinyl, lead track give him prozac sets the tone with a thick four note synth lead that accrues all manner of dreamlike analogue qualities as it progresses backed by those crisp rolling rhythms johnston is known for. columbo likes the nightlife takes things on a notably deeper path, all dubby chords and intricate skipping percussive touches augmented by epic sweeping textures, whilst face down and they had cocktails maintains the same feel if upping the pace somewhat. johnston ends strongly with the sublime analogue build of the sleepwalker.

rhythm odyssey is a production alias of the one and only dean meredith (chicken lips, goat dance etc) here he has teamed up with dr dunks (eric duncan, rub-n-tug) and tis second part of their 2 12 series, the duo have crafted some deliriously good mid-tempo balearia, circles could be a long lost remake of e2e4, and has sunset moment written all over it. >glow< takes the same ingredients and transports them into early 80s dubbed out territory - superb!

midnight love club the second strike! it is a pleasure to release the rhythm odyssey (dance music legend dean meredith) with more of his acidic analog rawness and fuzzy vintage synths. feel the warehouse vibe and check the deep techy remix of hotshot ethyl (secretsundaze, quintessentials). mlc loves you!
dean meredith is a veteran of dance music. he was not only one of the founders of chicken lips and thus a cosmic-disco godfather, but he was also one-half of bizarre inc., responsible for many rave anthems and more. as the rhyhtm odyssey in 2012, he is back on the hottest labels like rekids and golf channel. a real pro!

on le rire ep jared wilson (7777 - skudge / detroit) leads the way with a pest chicago-house inspired rework, devilishly and deliciously analog without whittling down to a mere old-school homage, a sort of us-acid-dubstep version of addison groove, with a taste of slacker jak-beat for the nirvana generation! a melodic decomposer, scottish dam mantle (warp - ghostly international / glasgow) deceitfully feigns to mellow with what could at first glance seem like an edit. however deep excavations into the intense choir of >voyage vers l harmonie< leads to a surreal confrontation between a slum village like beat and a post-industrial version of melody nelson. thundery atmospheres, slippery slopes… the best way to pay tribute to luc marianni. famous for his duo as well as his label syncom data, nukubus (bunker / rotterdam) is nonetheless an inspired soloist, as this breathtaking remix once again proves. the 11 minutes long krautrock tunnel leaves many envious of its authenticity and sheer technical virtuosity. this swirling reinterpretation of mariannis work manages to leave the original behind and come into its own. its out of respect for the original work that nukubus requested to be credited only as a remixer. if youve bothered to read the few lines above, please remember it is both easier and wiser to form your own opinion with the vinyl in your own two hands. please note that the distribution of these eps will be accompanied by some very limited original editions of luc mariannis vinyls
