12 inch(180g) with color jacket. spiral deluxe is a band led by jeff mills. initially formed for the performances in japan (tokyo/kobe) and released kobe sessions ep (ax070) last year, they gathered again in october 2016 for european tour, when they named themselves as spiral deluxe. the upcoming record is live recordings from that tour and will be our 2nd series of axis audiophile series with hd sound.

deluxes latest album is called stachelight, their emblematic mustache comes to life in light! in order to recreate the energy that defines the band on stage, each track has been recorded live. at first listen, we recognize the deluxian sound in the modern tunes bonhomme (with nneka) or shoes, the albums single. but deluxe has yet to reinvent itself! as confirmed by the songs baby thats you (with m) and eize your day, with new sonorities, radically pop, or a lheure ou (with iam), the first encounter with french rap ever released by the band! we also discover a great symphonic moment as we enter my world styles and featurings profuse of great quality, this second album stands on solid grounds! stachelight marks the come-back of the most mustachioed band of france!

released 25th november on the seminal strictly rhythm label, the album is vastly different from the majority of electronic albums out there. it has a decidedly soulful, blues-y feel and instead of the heres ten club tracks, will this do approach, tim took his time and immersed himself completely into the record, surrounding himself with some of the best contemporary jazz musicians around, including jim mullen (guitar), rod youngs and enzo zirilli (drums), pete wareham (sax), jay phelps (trumpet), john donaldson (piano) and ben hazleton (bass).

feelings is the next single to be released ahead of tim deluxes highly anticipated lp the radicle, a deep and jazzy cut which includes two distinct versions. with its deep jazzy reprise and classic french house-influenced tone, the club edit pairs a shuffling groove with freeform trumpet courtesy of renowned instrumentalist jay phelps with whom tim has worked extensively. the ice cream dub throws back to tim’s garage-roots, with the name directly referencing the highly influential record label he founded back in the 90s. tim skilfully blends the techniques of his heritage with the more modern, garage-influenced house sounds, creating a bubbling, low-end monster.

dropping ahead of the release of tim deluxes new studio lp the radicle, love is is the next single taken from the album, presented here in its original form as well as an additional dub version. a jazz-fueled, bluesy masterpiece with a heart wrenching vocal sublime live instrumentation and incredible production values, love is demonstrates just how far tim deluxe has come as an artist, and is indicative of the quality of the album as a whole.

while awaiting the upcoming album scheduled for september, a first maxi with the sweet title daniel will have you watering at the mouth! deluxe wants you to discover, starting on the 13th of may 2013, the first three titles from the album and, as a bonus, a remix by chinese man of one of these songs... a family remix symbolizing the vitality of the chinese man records label!
daniel, once again, the name of the first supercharged song of the disc, is a wild ride on which mc youthstar joins the group for a track that exudes the energy of live performances and the madness of the groups last tour! in bleed on we find the incredible funky feeling that delighted fans with deluxes first ep, catchy melodies, 70s brass sounds and a sense of groove that has become unstoppable. reflecting the promised diversity of the album, the last excerpt of the maxi, pretty flaws, surprises the listener with its melancholic atmosphere and emotional charge that emerge as a symbol of the groups desire to continue experimenting with sounds and styles.
