opilec music is proud to bring you the first ever remix album of san francisco s cult synthesizer-punk legends, the units! one of america s first synthesizer bands and pioneers of a genre now known as synthpunk, the units were notable for their use of synthesizers in place of guitars, and multimedia performances featuring multiple projections of satirical, instructional films critical of conformity and consumerism... predating mtv and 25 years before the birth of youtube! this is a definitive collection of over 24 of the band s original songs written between 1977 and 1984 and remixed for the dance floor in 2010 by a renowned and international cast of over 40 djs, producers and bands active in the contemporary club scene. this project celebrates the futuristic units along with the innovative djs that first played them.

units and measurements is the collaborative project of christopher hreno, mathew jonson and colin de la plante. the project sees these long times friends and veteran producers exploring the limits of hardware based improvisation and deep synthesis and effects programing . documenting a single epic 24 hour session at jonson s mothership studio in berlin, this first release sees the trio exploring some of the headiest ambient and tunneling hypnotic techno to be found in any of their admittedly vast individual back catalogs. this release is without question a portrait of 3 masters of their craft at work, and quite unlike anything else you are likely to hear this year. units and measurements will be available in a double vinyl and digital formats on november 4th via blkrtz, with worldwide distribution via kompakt.

opilec music is back with this special va signed by the cosmic acclaimed italian disco stars daniele baldelli & marco dionigi. both are regular remixers at the label and close friends to gianluca i-robots pandullo. having never been released before on vinyl these tracks show their unique style, and their ability to be reworked into a modern sound. 1980 s gogogo by the swiss electronic pioneers schaltkreis wassermann is taken from the classic psychotron album produced by pj & stella (r.i.p) wassermann, which has recently been re-released by private records germany.
