the latest vinyl release from berlin-based label konflkt is signed by up-and-coming producer introversion who’s been proving his worth with every release. “call to adventure” is no exception: all 3 rave-inspired tracks as well as the remix by kas:st hit that sweet spot of hypnotic albeit galvanising techno.

introversion created a name for himself with his remarkable debut with the first record on the label. the record is still in rotation today, and surely will be part of the rave scene for a big timespan. he is back with a complete 12”, providing his ravy personal sound reminiscence to the 90’s. now more than ever the artist is defining his own sound, creating a new window following the old and good roots.

dokutoku records strikes back with its second release - a sultry original from katie drover complete with a galloping remix from mysterious argentinian collective birdsmakingmachine and a cheeky groove tool.

dokutoku records is here with its first release from label boss katie drover. scenario name is an elegant and moody number with a heart of jazz. the original has been artfully remixed by cesar merveille who has constructed an 11 and a half minute groover with twists and turns that will move the after hours.

introvert (aka jukka varis) was born in northern finland in 1982. he lives now in helsinki, which is situated in the southern coast of finland. he has been making music for over 7 years, including progressive house back in 2004-2005 and his first own release from aurium records. the words >original<, >emotionally attractive<, >artistic<, >atmospheric< and >experimental< are the best to describe introvert’s sound. it gives people different moods and visions, something to listen closely to and to think about, and it works on the dancefloor too.

in 1979, emma dorgu decided it was time to act. he’d torn up the lagos live scene with the thermometers and conquered the airwaves with the single, ‘world people’. but there were injustices afoot, not just in nigeria, but in south africa and zimbabwe and across the continent as well, and he felt that something needed to be done. roverman was his politicized call to action. blackman akeeb kareem lent him the instruments and let him rehearse in his sitting room. dorgu sets his stall out early in the reggae-tinged ‘free my people’ calling for freedom for south africa, freedom for zimbabwe, indeed, freedom for all. thankfully political injustice hadn’t rid emma completely of his urge to get on down. the new york ghetto funk of ‘roverman’ and ‘loving’ and the straighthead boogie of ‘afro fever’ leaven the message with a funky beat and an irresistible pull towards the dancefloor. on roverman emma dorgu has achieved that that rarest of beats, an album that challenges your mind while it speaks to your feet. protest music has never sounded so funky.

the torino scale ... is a way of gauging the potential damage that may occur in the event of an impact from asteroids or other objects from space. as the richter scale measures the strength and potential damage from earthquakes, the torino scale is used to measure the potential for damage from objects striking earth. it is all about impact... but it is also about beginnings, as scientists discovered that primal dna might have been carried to the earth by an asteroids collision with earth. the torino scale is the debut solo album from berlin based producer and supersoul recordings head xaver von treyer, aka xaver naudascher. the result is astral pop music that swirls around the idea of beginnings, ends and aggregate states, whilst staying true to the known supersoul sound - strong connections to dance music (krautrock, italo, chicago and detroit) without being nostalgic or exclusive to one style.
