this 200 copy, vinyl only release is the first on 10years, a brand new and celebratory project between two long time friends, per hammar & maya lourenço aka parallax deep. channeling their trippier and more hypnotic works, the label will start with a split, limited run 12inch that marks ten years of friendship and then promises to develop into a great outlet for floor facing house and techno. per hammar goes first with the irresistible the expedition for mrs. gustavsson, a deep and fluid house cut with lots of little imperfections, crackles and bubbles adding character to a slick and stripped back groove. atmospheric and warm, soul infused and heady, it cannot fail to get connoisseurs on their toes. ‘parallax deep’ then offers a similarly rubbery and deep roller in periscope. this one is more electronic and minimal and finds the artist orchestrating myriad synthetic sounds into a bubbling track that is subtly curious and full of late night freakiness. support by traumer, nima gorji, bella sarris, brett jacobs, io mulen, truncate, raresh etc

milan based collective just this return with two va releases to continue their broken promises series. with the aim of documenting the progression of cultural movements, the label have pursued underground material since 2010. broken promises part 3 and part 4 are due for release on 1st december and 8th december respectively, and each feature four new tracks channelling refined techno with minimalist, ambient sentiments. hunter/game open part 3 with distance, a meditative journey through ambient textures using expansive synths and vast acoustics. next, architectural brandishes 808 drums for a tense workout on electric soul. on the b-side, label co-owner pisetzky explores the darker side of minimal on anterial, whilst altman plays with moody bass and ricocheting percussion on shapes. part 4 opens with a shuffling rhythmic framework on inlands aechmea, followed by zona, a pointillist groove by ben gibson, aka one half of the collaborative project dyad. on my flowers kundal, a cyclical melody wanders through eerie acoustics whilst hiver navigates a broken beat framework with glitchy distortions and dub echoes on stellar parallax landing

…speaking of air and darkness, “born on a gangster star” came into the world in a big damn hurry, like nightfall on an island. you can see it happening, but then again it’s so gradual that the next thing you know - it’s dark.
imbued with the energy and ideas from all the creative embers floating in the atmosphere like fireflies, shabazz palaces recorded this entire album over the course of two weeks with blood in seattle. new gear and new equipment disintegrated comfort zones into dust and a new path appeared in the rubble.
herein the palaceer continues the tale of quazars, a sentient being from somewhere else, an observer sent here to amurderca to chronicle and explore as a musical emissary. what he finds in our world is a cutthroat place, a landscape where someone like him could never quite feel comfortable amidst all the brutality and alternative facts and death masquerading as connectivity.

los massieras see themselves as legitimate psychedelic explorers sonically adventuring into dark territories and furry textures. their concrete, minimal electronics, trance inducing percussive sounds and mutant disco influences are drone infected, with slight dub inflections and sometimes even an unusual cold & poppy feel, if you care to consider the residents a pop band.

„obsidian“ lässt raum für melodie zwischen den kicks und snares und öffnet sich dem hörer in einem traumähnlichen gefilde. damage verzichtet dabei eher auf rohe beats, tracks wie „cosmonaut“, „parallax view“ und „transmission“ liefern aber mit sicherer schlagkraft einen adrenalinschub. es sind jedoch die sphärischen titel wie „pulse width“ und „poly“, das acid-angehauchte „tetrapod“ und das großartige „shimmer“, mit denen sich der künstler tiefer in das unbekannte wagt. man fühlt sich an die genialität von afx, skam und autechre erinnert. „obsidian“ zeichnet sich durch ein zusammenspiel von wärme, herz, seele und viel viel schweiß aus und zeichnet somit ein perfektes bild und ein grandioses finale für das label. benjamin damage selbst beschreibt das album als: -collection of fragmented memories from all the music i’ve ever liked, distorted and restructured into a full length techno record. a purely personal project and an end of an era with 50weapons.” man vergisst schnell, dass benjamin damage erst seit 2010 platten veröffentlicht. nur zwei jahre, nachdem sein erster track released wurde, erschien sein hochgelobtes debüt-album „they!live“ zusammen mit doc daneeka. damages erste solo-album folgte im folgenden jahr und zeigte eine entwicklung hin zum von plaid und jeff mills geprägten sonic sci-fi. kritiker lobten die wärme und rückkehr des souls in die von kälte geprägte welt des berlin-techno.
