after a brief hiatus, brouqade makes its return with a brand new release from fernando costantini. exploring a different side of himself, his debut ep features two solid grooves perfect for different moments of the night. to start, * plusieurs zip* conjures up a deep minimalistic groove-taking us on a floor-minded tour of peak time percussion, abstract vox, and subtle acid bass-lines. intelligently designed snares keep the track moving along with spontaneity and subtle surprise.
flipping to the b side, * something different* is a slow builder that effortlessly pulls you in with rising pads, sweeping percussion, and a rolling bass line to warm you up for those cold winter nights.

fernando pulichino, the argentinian multi-instrumentalist and producer, has been releasing music since 2001. he is part of silver city, and was one of four members of the infamous 20:20 soundsystem (alongside ralph lawson & co.) and his own solo productions have featured on labels such as international feel, redux, under the shade, nang and many more.

fernando gallego is not a music band which we can define as common, on the contrary. this group from uburriana, successor of funeraria vergara, started its history back in the early 1984, (after juan luis montoliu left), and it ended in 1986 with the emergence of the project *decúbito supino*. their usage of some synthesizers, amongst other gadgets, keyboards and large petrol cans, was the distinctive feature as regards to their predecessor band, such an echo defined a much more industrial and electronic sound, closer to early ebm.

fernandos debut for leng was the universally well received mid-tempo monster *blue impala*. now he is back with yet another hypnotic bass heavy workout. *giant desert* takes the same low slung approach with some heavy guitar work from fiorucci. this is really is chugging music at its best, with flashes of vocal, analog synths and a dirty rock guitar combining to keep that head nodding. the extended dub allows fiorucci more space to hit the groove and the guitar work becomes epic.

upon the first listen, the work of fernando unfolds directly on your brain and leaves a long lasting feeling of drama. fernando pulichino is one those lucky guys who can pick up any instrument and write songs without breaking a sweat. he first caught my attention with a remake of the bauhaus classic kick in the eye released on redux in 2008. he then backed up this great start with releases and remixes for labels like international feel, under the shade, internasjonal and nang. he also very busy touring as part of the 2020 soundsystem band and he is also in silver city with julian sanza.
we decided to put together a long player to highlight the talents of our man in buenos aires. the construction of *float* reveals an astonishing wealth of musical ideas, brazen touches of new wave and icy modern disco sounds are evident throughout. low slung basses are also a theme that runs right through *float* whether it is the opening song *a place* which has a monster electronic bottom end or *from out there* which sits firmly on the punk funk dinner table, bass lines are clearly important to fernando.

>drunvalos drums< is a track that has been being tested by fernando with positive audience reactions during live sets in demanding places like toy (stuttgart) electrosonic festival (burgos) or rioma (mexico city). its frequencies between house, techno and minimal make a celebrative ravy drummy atmosphere perfect for those times where warm ups are over… colombian singer natalia davila recently added the consciousness speech during a studio session in mexico city giving the track that special femenine touch.

repress - for their first multi-artist compilation, music from memory take us on a trip to the heart of the amazon rainforest. outro tempo: electronic and contemporary music from brazil, 1978-1992 is a double lp that explores the outer reaches of brazilian music, where indigenous rhythms mix with synthesizers and where mpb mingles with drum computers. as brazil faced the last years of its military dictatorship and transition to democracy, a generation of forward-thinking musicians developed an alternative vision of brazilian music and culture. they embraced traditionally shunned electronic production methods and infused their music with elements of ambient, jazz-fusion, and minimalism. at the same time they referenced the musical forms and spirituality of indigenous tribes from the amazon. the music they produced was a complex and mesmerising tapestry that vividly evoked brazilian landscapes and simultaneously reached out to the world beyond its borders.
