this new compilation of old kirchin material comes as a result of the free cd i produced for hull 2017 city of culture. there was a basil kirchin “weekender” this february, three days of talks, music and events based on the life, music and world of basil kirchin.

basil & rogers is a sleazy, california disco duo made up of heru (dj) johnny basil and body rogers. basil, a multi-instrumentalist, long-time record collector, and energy healer is a man that s been making music for a long time under many different guises and in many different styles. heru avenger (acid/psych rock), non stop (electronic/free jazz), baast (kraut rock/jazz funk), and kandi jones (slut rock) are just a few of his projects, past and present. most of this music has been around for the entirety of the 90 s and 2000 s without being heard because despite basil s outspoken appearance (described by many as looking like iggy pop s twin brother and would never be caught wearing a t-shirt no matter the location) he s very quiet about his musical output. body rogers is also part of the non stop group and is a master of electronics and engineering. on the basil & rogers project the two have made a disco 12- that is influenced by classic-era dance music while still being completely unique and far from conforming. it s crazy, it s sexy, and it s sleazy. tune in .

dj basil returns to the dance scene once again. best remembered for his house classic -city streets- (nu groove) as well as -all true african- and -time to be free- (king street sounds), basil adds a brand new gem to his catalog of music.

more essential burrell related goodness from the vaults of nu-groove. this time the brothers collaborate with basil thomas aka the wonderfully named basil hardhaus on “make me dance-, another stomping ny garage house smasher from 1991. it’s all here, vocal mixes, dubs, shout outs to all the radio and club dj’s of the day, the record store and promotions people and most importantly - the regulars and dancers of nyc’s legendary shelter club where the brothers were regular fixtures! on the flipside there’s more garage pressure in the shape of the grooving “for the underground” and 2 separate mixes of the much sampled (but never bettered!) “black man-. all the tracks included here have that deep, late night, classic sound that is instantly recognizable as the burrell brothers, sultry vocals, warm pads & heavy, swinging, raw drum beats! “make me dance” has always been one of the tougher 12&#8243,,,,,,,s to track down from the enviable nu-groove catalog. now it’s here, back again, re-mastered, re-pressed and re-issued in conjunction with the burrell brothers and nu-groove records. complete with original label artwork. one for the real house heads!

sometimes things turn out different than planned. that also applies for remixes one does for other labels: >the lost remixes< features two personal favourite remixes by sascha dive, now seeing a release on vinly for the first time. side a offers a gentle & laid-back remix for neggheads >being< that warms-up every dance-floor just like a sweet summer breeze. sascha dives remix for the basil classic >time to be free (free world)< on side b is a lot more four to the floor and with its almost epic groove yet proven another track that you’ll hear in clubs at any time of the night. listen up!

the back on track vinyl collection takes one of the most seminal and classic new york house labels of the late eighties and early nineties and lets the sort after producer nicholas painstakingly update the sound for 2011. this special edition collection is made of three limited edition heavy weight 180 gram vinyls with printed sleeves. each four track ep is individually coloured to make the complete set of three, light blue, orange and dark blue. on each ep there are four nu groove tracks re-edited by nicholas that include vinyl only exclusives. the collection reinterprets classic nu groove artists including bas noir, roqui and n.y house n authority.

italian duo davide zeta and claudio basile moved to london from milan in 96 & 97 respectively, they quickly achieved themselves their individual niches in londons spotlight as promoter/dj duo, moving into production with their first official releases in 2008, claudio as a solo artist, and davide as part of slimboystwo. when they finally joined forces for their first release as dzeta n basile gained lots of attention from different record labels throughout uk and europe. claudios sound comes from a progressive background and davides has more of a house feeling. the result is a unique blend of hypnotic grooves, deep vibes and percussive/house beats, which is the trade mark of their style. after just more than a year running, with dj performances in londons most important venue and 10+ singles released, the future in 2010 is looking bright.

our first go ibiza compilation has been compiled by bobby & steve and michael hughes and mixed by our very own bobby & steve. it features 28 amazing tracks and is modelled around the launch of our groove odyssey presents go ibiza four day weekender, which took place from the 19th-22nd of may 2017 at the beach star hotel, san antonio bay, ibiza. with over 40 artists from around the globe coming together on the magical island of ibiza, it was a memorable affair and many of the guests now feature on the album.
