2018 has been a big year for dope ammo so far, what with the smash refix of -wishin on a star-, countless collaborations with a whole host of talents artists and fitting in a tour of europe. it comes as no surprise that it s now time to unleash a heavy hitting album in the form of -influence-. this isn t strictly a drum and bass affair either and with styles perfectly crossing in and out of each other, it s a true representation of dope ammo s creative production flair.

opening with orchestral provenance usual alternative has all the epic presence of a lord of the rings re enactment society annual dance and dinner. working up to the drop with classical samples before hitting with one of the heaviest basslines we ve heard all year (alright, its only january, thats not the point...).

this time its all dope ammos own work with >cold rock a party<, a track which will do exactly what it says on the tin, and >rumble< packed with plenty off sub-bass to do just that on the dancefloor

a standout track for us is >fantasy<, which was never released on 12inch but despite this has been a djs favourite for over 30 years. the lush layering of instruments and percussion create a track that sounds as fresh today as it would have in 1975. after citing this as one of their favorite records of all time, faze action took this track and have given us some excellent edits which add extra dancefloor elements while keeping the integrity of the original

marc mac and his visioneers band decided to cover this classic rather than remix it, and they lovingly recreated every part including the vocals, giving us 2 blissful versions

julius steinhoff, owner of the smallville imprint comes along with abdeslam hammouda to spread the beats. after their debut track on labels number one steinhoff & hammouda hit back with three outstanding tracks full of warm symphonic strings and nice grooves
