sugardaddy are a uk electronic music duo formed in 2006 and is the musical brainchild of tom findlay (one half of groove armada) and singer song writer tim hutton (hybrid, groove armada, way out west) “hypnotise- has an altogether late 80 s heavy, low slung, boogie vibe, caressed with beautifully haunting yet soulful vocals. greg wilson remixes an extended rework, holding the vibe of the original and effortlessly extending certain aspects of the groove, creating a 9 minute dancefloor monster! situation are next up with a late night, deep house dub interpretation which builds to a discoesque guitar licked, infectious, yet hypnotic bombshell bittersuite finish the release with a chunky funk fuelled version, full of slap bass and a bucketful of soaring, atmospheric synths, cleverly weaving those wonderful vocals and building to an electro jazz funk masterpiece.

intergalactic lover is the first release on cpu s new 7inch vinyl series and is the debut single from daddy long legs aka tom parker, one half of city guys and all round fm synthesis maestro extraordinaire. side as intergalactic lover is new wave kraftwerkian electro funk, with added vocal not too dissimilar to the great edwyn collins circa orange juice. side bs the club could be mistaken for a 1980s breakdance anthem, poised with casio orchestral stabs, scribble scratches and electro bass designed for the dancefloor, more specifically poppin and lockin . please note, this is a limited white vinyl, white label 7inch single

ein paar jahre nach seiner letzten platte war es für suff daddy nun an der zeit sein neues gruppy dumb studio einzuweihen. tief verwurzelt in seinem klassischen suff daddy-sound, entstand ein album, das sich in die entwicklung von suff daddy als producer und mensch nahtlos einfügen lässt. er ersetzt das becks und den schnaps als inspirationsquelle und berieselt sich fortan durch die eindrücke, die er auf seinen reisen durch europa und australien sammeln konnte. weniger chopped samples, dafür mehr synthies. weniger hip hop, dafür mehr handgemachte musik. nachdem er 2015 seine dj-shows erfolgreich aus deutschland auf ganz europa verlagern konnte, u.a. mit einem boiler room in london, durfte er auch anderson.paak bei seinen deutschland shows als support begleiten. auf dem album sind unter anderem sein bandkollege dexter (betty ford boys) aus stuttgart und mayer hawthorne aus los angeles vertreten. der einzige up-tempo & vocal track auf dem album ist sicher einer der ungewöhnlichsten für suff daddy. dexter und suff daddy hingegen ergänzen sich mit ihren ganz speziellen basslines und drum sounds, so ergibt sich der bewährte sound gepaart mit dexters brachialem habitus. diesen winter wird suff daddy zum ersten mal mit einer liveband auf der bühne stehen. termine folgen.
