with jungle, grime (forthcoming), 90s rnb (forthcoming) and even red snapper’s ‘96 classic prince blimey all getting the skrs redux recently, runcometest ep is a time-capsule. 8-bit basslines echo from distant battles with space invaders while sure-footed dub samples glare at sound system history through vaseline smeared lenses. returning to more grounded dubwise sensibilities (by their standards), runcometest builds a bridge between the collective’s 2014 nocorner cassette (rootprinciple) and the recently re-surfaced sci-fi/western clash dancehallshowdown (self-released on ics library recordings last year).

first anniversary re-press of bokeh versions long sold out 2nd release. glacial dancehall is the slowest dancehall mixtape ever heard. culled from his private 7inch archives, each side figures dancehall mutations, pitched and screwed by jay glass dubs hardware acceleration. jay glass dubs is an exercise of style by artist dimitris papadatos focusing on a counter-factual historical approach of dub music, stripped down to its basic drum/bass/vox/effects form.

glacial dancehall returns a two-headed excursion ofversions, samples + sirens chopped and screwed into oblivion bytime cowandlow jack. tasked with followingjay glass dubs first volume ofglacial dancehall(of march 2016) each artist served up a half hour side of ruff slow jams, bolstered with additional production and totalling 15 full blown edits. paris low jack can be found splitting time between on modern love, l.i.e.s. and the trilogy tapes as well as running his own editions gravats imprint with jean carval. westmoreland, ja, home to time cow - maybe better known as one of the key players in the equiknoxx crew, responsible for some of the island s crucial 21st century riddims. their watershedbird sound power on dds provides a weird manchester linkage that connects him to low jack via the modern love hotbed.

after various releases on weevil neighbourhood, two of the label’s key figures, anthone, who made a first appearance in 2012 with the “aloof” ep and “double dub / clear view” as well as “breath/lungs” in 2014 and katsunori sawa, who debuted with the “lr” ep in 2011 together with yuji kondo as steven porter and later released “the two legs” (2013) as well as “holy ground” (2014) as a solo artist, team up as bokeh for their first collaborative outing dubbed “peace obscured”. the release comes as a 12” ep combining both artists trademark musical vocab - industrial dub and noise influenced techno - resulting in a three tracker of relentlessly driving bottom end rave. black vinyl, limited edition, artwork by lee noble (no kings records/ bathetic).

their 7 inch debut on bokeh versions finds skrs in a woozy mood. ifuwantme is a warped interpolations of classic lovers rock vibes. skrs launches lovers into another dimension with a distant gyaldem chanting mantras over ruffneck lows. trustindigikal is an archival track rescued from cosmic limbo. sparse dub abstractions and alien gurgles battle with clipped samples to a synthonic conclusion.

osaka based producer 7fo. having previously released a cassette on rvng international, and a 7inch single on bokeh versions in 2017, this is the japanese producers debut full length vinyl release. the tracks, recorded between 2012 and 2017, have been tweaked, remastered and recorded to vinyl for the first time. the mysterious figure recorded the tracks at home, processing guitar sounds, using a sampler, synthesizer and junk equipment. following in the footsteps of the ambient giants of his native lands, 7fo’s music continues this illustrious heritage whilst offering something fresh, modern and beautifully rendered. he describes his own sound as gorgeous sustained tones and dreamlike oscillations that drift through the inorganic/electronic world reverberating through our subconscious creating sonic fables in our minds. the 12inch comes with artwork designed by label head & visual artist jack hardwicke. to accompany the release greek filmmaker george kountouras, who also collaborated on the artwork, has directed a gorgeous video for the title track moment

following the peace obscured ep by bokeh, his joint venture with anthone, katsunori sawa sets yet another mark on the weevil neighbourhood with his first full-length solo artist album on the label. titled secret of silence the eight tracks-spanning work of kyoto based sawa drills through japan techno, industrial breaks and noise while flirting with breakcore and a more aggressive take on dub.
katsunori sawa has been with the label for pretty much four years now with solo projects as well as joint ventures (besides the aforementioned bokeh, he’s also part of steven porter with his brother in arms yuji kondo with whom he also runs their own 10 label). his musical career reaches back another few years when he was writing and producing under eoc (short for enormous o clock), including an album for ai records.

2016 repress , with this ep reilg makes his debut on his own label, lofile. much more subdued than the first ep, lfr 002s a-side appears almost minimalistic, touched with melancholy - going into a deeper state of mind with its bright, clear and distinct accents - like the first rays of dawn, breaking through its background. its like a dark bokeh, rough and raw, clearly influenced by deep techno tracks.its sounds create a mood close to labels like dial and giegling, geared to the morning hours.the b-side remixes by edward and tilman tausendfreund become much more peak time fitting.edwards soulitude remix with a touch of electro strikes with deep and iridescent gravitational attraction.the derailed remix by tilman tausendfreund tops it off,with its acid bassline and house inspired sound. light and bright like a summer breeze, its impossible to not be touched and drawn towards its timbre.

since maxime dangles contribution to our head honcho gregor treshers breaking new soil vol. 7 early 2015 we received several fantastic new oevres from the frenchman. it wasnt easy to decide which ones to release but sian (octopus records) gave us a hand and focussed on fokal for his remix! anyway we are proud to release maximes debut ep for break new soil and are curious how you share our taste.
