body sculptures is a contemporary project that brings together five unique voices in european experimental electronic music today. the formative element is the collaborative pact between sweden’s northern electronics and denmark’s posh isolation. last year marked both body sculptures debut live performance - a highly notorious set at berlin atonal festival 2015 - as well as their debut recording, “the base of all beauty is the body”. the disparate elements that have come to inform the project thus far are further refined and encoded in their new lp, “a body turns to eden”.

cvn is the work of japanese electronic artist and core member of the now defunct synth punk duo ‘jesse ruins’ -nobuyuki sakuma. a work that is distinctly sci-fi in it’s intention, ‘exposure’ is comprised of six tracks that veer from battered & scorched weightless warfare workouts to bright & melodic mutant electro to desolate and longing fragments of cracked ambience.

the green moon rises over the freshly scorched post-apocalyptic earth, as one last droid emerges from the mass wreckage of the last crumpled city. that droid is neon x. snow bone returns to lt with another ferocious four-track ep, following on from his remote viewer ep, mystic vision black label and black patterns lp from last year. tape-driven techno never got it so hard.. this time driving the desk with stress-pelting rave alarms, scuffed & crunchin city-escape bass lines, scattered snare-morphed-into-laser modular experiments and hissed-up mix-downs to melt any and all sound systems.

your silent faces second release – the first on his own label tethys records – continues the deep, brooding techno trajectory set by his first track on fiedeltwo, a place where arms bend backwards. title track red rain is urgent yet considered: subtle acid lines swirl and build against bright defined percussion while the bassline builds towards infinity. it reveals ysf’s inspirations from motorik music, early industrial bands like nitzer ebb and deep techno heroes including sandwell district and rrose.kleinian transform takes techno to a place where georgio moroder meets front 242 and basic channel, creating robotic space-tracks with dub disco melodies, insistent bassline and mighty crescendos. its a late night dancefloor track influenced by dj hell and francois k, but equally by coil and new order. scorched earth closes the red rain ep with a post–apocalyptic melancholy, a soundscape which nods to kraftwerk and boards of canada. this is the track ysf wants you to hear at the end of times, recalling the blistering winds of post-nuclear fallout: darkly spacious, with a questioning melody. the ep was mastered by keith tenniswood at curvepusher.
