luciano continue his newly launched basaec imprint with * saved & slaved*, a two-track release featuring collaboration with argenis brito. swiss-chilean producer and dj luciano has been at the forefront of underground electronic music for quite some time now, heading up the infamous cadenza imprint and releasing material for some of the industry’s leading labels such as perlon, desolat, cocoon and poker flat amongst many others. here we see luciano back on his recently launched basaec label, delivering some of his signature stripped-back, dynamic and emotive material ‘lost in lymbo’ takes the lead and sees luciano offer up a typically intricate twelve-minute excursion with subtly modulating and evolving percussion, spiralling synth swells, sporadic vocal chants and a smoothly unfolding aesthetic resulting in an archetypal and intriguing production from this forever forward-thinking artist. the latter half sees luciano paired with fellow cadenza artist argenis for ‘pato’s track’, stripping back the vibe to a raw cowbell and rim shot percussive-led state whilst lumpy subs, vocal murmurs and subtly unfolding flute like melodies ebb and flow throughout the composition.

following a noticeable entrance onto the dame-music roster with the dame-music 021 *the jonh red hawk project*, anaxander returns on bloody marys imprint for an other fine ep. with a deep, spooky and atmospheric introduction, *you saved my life (brothers and sisters)* cruises through with rolling drums and metallic bass softened by pads. this subsequently evolves into that anaxander signature melody as the track twists it way to an uplifting mood.

&me is a no stranger to delivering high quality eps to saved and this time round continues the maintain that standard.

canadian artist carlo lio makes his first appearance on the saved imprint, delivering his unique sound with >what it is<. possessing a lot of energy with its warm, rolling bass line, the track builds and then moves into an intense drop, characterised with the twisted vocals, oscillating effects and trippy strings. over on the flip, french house producer phil weeks demonstrates why he is one of the best producers in the game, delivering a remix that seals the package of perfectly

canadian artist paolo rocco makes his debut on saved with people say. from the top there is a unique seductive pad that pans creatively over the cut back percussion. the bass line enters early on and stands out with its original pattern and alternating frequencies, working well with the crisp clap that programmes itself in and out. the vocals are what makes the track. they are catchy just like the bass line, and are processed effectively, maintaining a nice, fresh groove.
over on the flip side is a remix from label boss nic fanciulli that utilises the original parts effectively and maintains an energetic pace with smart programming. both mixes have been creating a real buzz across scene.

saved presents the 3rd instalment in their collection sampler series, collection c. the release contains music from artists who have already made a mark on the label as well as a couple of debutants. a reflection of the labels tastes with original music and an eclectic range.

saveds latest offering is a single from berlin based artist burnski. appearing for the first time on the label earlier in the year with his incredible take on harvey mckays *the fall*, the talented producer delivers *lost in the zoo*.
the track is a real house bomb with a jackin disco feel, set across an evolving bass line and flourishing voices. over on the flip is a remix from dynamic duo, the martinez bros. using the original elements and adding their own unique production including an equally addictive bass line and trippy elements, they create a first rate remix that seals the package off perfectly.

saveds next release is a single from label debutants the italoboyz who present *hi fi*. built on punchy kicks and a pulsating bass line, the track is peppered with chopper effects, stand out vocals and rising synths that combine to cause maximum dance floor destruction. federico molinari provides an intelligent remix which instantly pulls the listener in with its hurdling bass line and fx. accelerated congas layer the mix and the vocals are processed through big ambient delays to great effect.

saveds second release for 2013 comes from label debutant julien chaptal who presents the 2 track *illin ep*.
fist up on the a side is *eat ya foe*, a track which is built on unique percussion that possesses a warm bit crush effect. these foundations support the bouncing bassline which has an acid feel to it that works well against the potent vocals.
further damage is caused on the flip with *illin* where the rolling drums build nicely into the engaging lead line that advances through the track with filters and variations.

blacksmif aka londons kaleidoscopic yemi olagbaiye stepped from the shadows in 2012 with his enthralling original 12 inch *hoop dreams / microweight*, gathering heavyweight support along the way from, laurent garnier, ben westbeech aka breach, south london ordnance, mary anne hobbs and audiojack to name a few. not to mention an increasingly busy calendar, which notably included performances at glade, and dimensions.returning for his second release on the grass roots inspired blah blah blah records, blacksmif delivers his biggest release to date with two tracks of simmering beauty and dance floor elegance. lorca completes the package with his characteristically smooth, and essential, dynamism.
