one of figures most prolific artists, a.mochi offers up his first ever ep for figure spc, with 2 especially subterranean and highly charged tracks. mochi, who last year released his outstanding >primordial soup< lp on figure, continues to tread the line between functional club techno, and post-apocalyptic mechanical soundtracks. the well-defined a side burner, >riff< charges along with textured, woody percussion at its heart, and mochis trademark white noise ensemble pushing the high frequencies. a reduced, classically minimalist work, the track relies on just a handful of elements to induce a real fever on the dancefloor. following closely in its footsteps is >sunset<, a deeper cut with hi-tech atmospheres and intricate percussion at its core. metallic synths surge under mochis wall of bass, and the straight-ahead ebb of the sharp hats and claps edge this monster into even darker zones.

>positivenoise< is collaboration between system 7 and british house music legend a guy called gerald who now lives in berlin, and is one of two tracks on the new system 7 >up< album that they worked on together. the original club mixs exuberant sounds and crisp beats exude an infectious feel-good quality and a bright tech confidence inspired by berlins leaner sounds - already gaining plaudits and plays for its modern club sound. the carl craig remix strips down the original, and twists and turns for the dancefloor with dubby deep techno in carls own legendary style. a.mochis remix is a darker interpretation, with a long dropdown featuring shimmering s7 trademark sounds and a breakbeat build-up.

virgil enzinger is for sure one of the most respected austrian techno producers. with releases on labels like clr, kombination research, masters of disaster and many other well known imprints virgil fixed his position in the international techno league. after his massive vx album fiction hes now back on driving forces recordings with two dark and pure techno tracks in the typical enzinger style. next to the original versions of form of the formless and final movement the vinyl features another great rmx by the dutch audio assault labelhead bas mooy, while the digital version comes along with an exclusive rmx by the dfr labelheads sutter cane & mark domine.
