two mixes of mr raoul ks opus break your chains and return to botswana. kaito takes a step back and uses parts of mr raoul ks tricky beats as a rock solid base to build his soundscapes on. his mix is like the soundtrack to a movie dealing with alienated individuals who try to escape imprisonment through an endless desert.

transit records kyotos 4th vinyl is here. it includes two different types of floor killer tunes from japan. the a side track is composed by well-known japanese producer hiroshi watanabe, also known as kaito. the track has very beautiful melody that was made by the artist live in tokyo, japan. the b side track is by ryoma sasaki who runs this label. also, he did djing at world-famous clubs such as tresor berlin, has excellent dj techniques. the track is an unique uplifting house, suitable for peak time.

in october last year, kompakt presented until the end of time (kompakt 288 cd111), a new full-length from hiroshi watanabe aka kaito putting an end to a long and meagre period of time for fans of the veteran producer who saw his last proper release and that was the way (kompakt 208) three years ago. as with hiroshis earlier full-length offerings, we are truly excited to bring you a special beatless version of the new album called less time until the end that shines a different light on the original opus.

in case you havent figured it out yet, kompakt loves tradition and as you know, we have had a longstanding affair with our beloved japanese producer extraordinaire hiroshi watanabe aka kaito. his 2009 full length trust (komcd74) showcased a deeper, more matured side to kaitos now classic sound.
so with every kaito album comes the custom - the beatless versions. that said, we proudly offer your ears and that was the way - watanabe effortlessly has brought together three of the lead tunes from trust through into the calm waters of his ambient bliss.
so you have and that was the way…kaito once again demonstrates his magic that goes on behind the beat.

ltd repress - burner! massive! wird bereits von solomun, trikk, musumeci, lehar u.a. in jedem ihrer sets gespielt. hier kommt die erste maxiauskopplung aus mr raoul k’s album “african paradigm”. und was für eine! die a-seite birgt einen killertrack, dunkel aber schimmernd schön. ein wirbelndes pad und treibende beats führen den tack erst in eine dunkelheit und dann geht die sonne auf, wenn sona diabate’s stimme reinkommt. ihr kraftvoller gesang flutet licht über alle schatten und der track schafft den spagat zwischen: “putting you in a trance und raise your hands in the air”. eleganz und energie. auf der b-seite: der kaito remix von “african paradigm”, eine zwölf-minuten freigeistige glückseligkeit mit einem unwiderstehlichen groove. das ist mr raoul k’s trademark: organische sounds, traditionelle instrumente der elfenbeinküste, und funkelnde soundlandschaften - wundervoll geschmückt mit mysteriösen vocals.

opilec music s eclectic remix series rolls on with another essential package, this time tackling a single from label boss i-robots s law of robotics album back in 2008. adding their own spin to things are red axes and hiroshi watanabe aka kaito after likes of kuniyuki takahashi, djembe monks, danny ocean, los hermanos, gary martin, alexander robotnick, daniele baldelli & marco dionigi have all stepped up previously. isreali duo red axes go first, a pair known for mixing up synths and guitars in exciting new ways on labels like hivern discs, i m a cliche and esp institute amongst others. their excellent version of the track re-works it as a deep and spine tingling house cut. moody chords lull you into a hypnotic and zoned out groove that is finished with some intoxicating spoken words. hiroshi watanabe aka kaito is next, an acclaimed kompakt and transmat artist who makes succulent techno with ambient atmospheres. his brilliant version here is just that, with cosmic chords and slippery rubber beats carrying you away into the night. warm and inviting, it elevates you to the next level over its long length, it is a classy bit of techno that also comes as a stripped back instrumental version.

raoul k is known for blending the sounds of real westafrican instruments and modern electronic clubsounds into one mesmerizing soundscape. this time, he takes a new approach: the original mix is produced without the use of any electronic instrument. just pure african sounds, chopped and melted together into one groovy slice of contemporary clubmusic. this is the first release in a series celebrating the tenth year of baobab music… which will lead to a new raoul k album. electronics aren’t completely left out. the blending, however, was left to the remixers this time: irfan adds a good measure of energy in his mix, setting up some analog synths with raoul’s beats. watch out for the break… kaito delivers a very dreamy remix which seems to lose its kickdrum but does not lose its groove. dance into the sunrise. choose vinyl, please
