fires of quidel is the culmination of son swaggas first year as a band, a year spent refining their music, building connections as bandmembers and friends, and finally recording at greenfield studios with analog gear to bring their sound to life. with this album son swagga present themselves to the world and showcase the passion they bring to music as well as the individual talents of the bandmembers.

byron bay record label, wildlife recordings is humbled to present the debut album from brisbane based artist marly lüske. five fires is a diverse and engrossing body of work that brings to mind elements of beck, black moth super rainbow, boards of canada, and early rephlex releases.

at some point in 2013, friendly fires, andrew weatherall and timothy j fairplay (aka the asphodells), convened in an east london pub to discuss collaborating on new music together. the plan was to produce music that came from a place outside of their respective usual musical styles - a loose, open-ended process embarked upon for the pure joy of experimentation and collaboration rather than a specific end goal. the collaboration came on the back of two hugely successful friendly fires albums - 2008s debut friendly fires and 2011s follow up pala - and an acclaimed debut album from the asphodells in 2013s ruled by passion destroyed by lust, the latest in a long line of classic releases from andrew weatherall’s own rotters golf club label. the result is *before your eyes* and *velo* - two brand new tracks that take close to ten minutes each to reveal their full hypnotic glory. the tracks will be released as a aa-sided single on translucent, orange colored 12 inch vinyl and will be the inaugural release on friendly fires own telophase label.

as a producer, chris manik has never shied away from incorporating his affinity for different music genres and styles into his celebrated namesake material. as proven on previous releases, his innovative and sultry blend of house music has garnered praise from audiences worldwide.

*airglow fires* is the first new lone material to emerge since his masterful *galaxy garden* album, his most complete body of work to date. departing from the themes of the rave/hardcore revival and cinematic interstellar travel, *airglow fires* sees him exploring a more considered and intimate sound alongside a rediscovered love of classic hip-hop, as he explains: i love hip hop and house music when it is at it is rawest - to me airglow fires has that kind of 90s basement vibe to it, where the lines between the two genres are kind blurred.
