curtains up for a new power trio: bass player massimo pupillo (zu, laniakea), drummer alexandre babel (sudden infant) and caspar brÃ&#150,tzmann on guitar. as the title -live at the candy bomber studios, vol.1- indicates, this album is the first cut from an inspired recording meeting. raw energy, full focus and three instrumentalists at the peak of their skills who blend noise rock, drone and improvisation into 2 relentless epic pieces. the line-up consists of massimo pupillo, bass player in zu, laniakeaand countless other constellations anddrummer alexandre babel who is a prolific player in the experimental / contemporary field (artistic director of swiss percussion group eklekto, member ofkammerensemble neue musik berlin, soloist and has performed a.o. with otomo yoshihide and keiji haino) and a steady member of the noise band sudden infant. and last but not least there s caspar brÃ&#150,tzmann on guitar who gainedhigh reputation as one of the most radical guitarists around, admired by acclaimed artists like thurston moore (-probably one of the best guitarists i ve ever met!-)and stephen o malley. a powerful unit, recorded live in the studio by ingo krauss who had already worked with brÃ&#150,tzmann on the caspar brÃ&#150,tzmann massaker albums -der abend der schwarzen folklore- and -koksofen-.

es war ein bewegender abend, der weit bis in die nacht hineinreichte, im ausverkauften hammersmith palais in london am 05. juni 1977. unter den 2.000 begeisterten zuschauern waren auch joe strummer und mick jones. beide waren von der show der jamaikanischen top-stars dermaßen inspiriert, dass der frühe single-hit von the clash -(white man) in hammersmith palais- daraus entstand. zur feier des 40-jährigen labeljubiläums präsentiert greensleeves die gleichnamige 4-track ep (33 rpm) in attraktivem packaging inklusive eines nachdrucks des posters, mit dem das konzert seinerzeit beworben wurde. hier finden sich die besten stücke von leroy smart und dillinger mit -ballistic affair- und -cokane in my brain-, sowie ken boothes unnachahmliche coverversion von sixto waiting for sugar man rodriguez und dem äußerst raren und gesuchten delroy wilson song -rascal man (false rasta)-.

bryan simpson, seines zeichens der mastermind der the whistles & the bells beschreibt das konzept von „modern plagues“ so: „ich stelle mir eine dinner-party vor, bei der ich einige meine lieblinge der zeitgeschichte einlade. sagen wir personen wie abe lincoln, john lennon, joan of arc und truman capote. das ganze findet samstag-abend auf coney island statt, soren kierkegaard und malcolm muggeridge essen hot dogs und zuckerwatte und diskutieren ihre ideen, - es wird immer lauter und wilder. die stimmung habe ich versucht mit diesem konzept-album klanglich einzufangen!“. musikalisch muss man sich auf eine entsprechende mixtur einstellen: indie-pop trifft auf banjo, heiterer funk auf rock, hier ein paar bläsersätze, da eine soul-sängerin. wild, inspiriert und frei von musikalischen barrieren.

die letzten tagen waren wieder hart zu dir. also erst mal schaun was heute geht. aber bitte, langsam einsteigen. luckyloop also opener für einen langen abend gut gewählt. ganz entspannt zieht dich der loop gleichsam in die nacht. alles ganz analog versteht sich. goodmusic groovt ohne ende in allerbester deephouse tradition. die basslinie als treibendes element ein paar luftige eingestreute keyboard akzente, tja und dann diese stimme … diese stimme …

auch wenn ich die musik von dandi & ugo liebe, der titel big tits machts aber einen nicht einfach, ihre musik in worte zu fassen..big tits schüttelt einen, man denkt an italien, man denkt an la dolce vita, dabei ist big tits so minimal, ein schieber, nicht der deutsche way, schon sehr italienisch, aber eben wie italienerinnen sind auch diese 3 tracks die minimale erfrischung am abend, thats italy, omg. even though i love dandi & ugos music, the title big tits doesnt make it any easier to describe their music in words. big tits will shake you, will make you think of italy, think of la dolce vita, although big tits is so minimal, a stomper, not the german way, but quite italian. but just like italian women, these 3 tracks are the minimal refreshment in the evening. thats italy. omg.

carsten franke macht nach der >professional killer ep< und der >open closed ep< den hattrick mit seiner dritten solo platte. seine tracks bewegen sich stets zwischen den stuehlen, kommen aber immer auf den punkt. dreckige basslines gepaart mit einer unbeabsichtigten funkyness lassen aufhorchen und koepfe nicken. nun ist er mit der >shadows & signs ep< zurück auf ostwind. ein funktionaler 3 tracker mit einem remix von le cuisine b., der carstens >shadow & signs< in einen klassischen 303er techno track mit old school und funk einschlag umfunktioniert. der groovige electro techhouse titeltrack, schwebt erst sachte daher, um sich nach dem mittelteil als ranziger schieber zu entpuppen. der leicht knarzige a2 track gewinnt schon am anfang und laesst durch ein aufkommendes gitarrensample die spannung steigen. track b2 hat eine gemeine acidbassline und funktioniert durch die hauptmelodie als errinnerung für den abend !! was als minimaler techno anfaengt entwickelt sich zusehens zum modernen acidtrance.. supported by gebrueder teichmann, holger nielson and monoroom

angstfreier minimal der als astreine neuronenmassage durchgeht. bruno pronsato - nie war er so weird wie heute. guten abend !
