allez! here we go with the next release from terence :terry:’s highly-respected la vie en rose label. so far this year lvr has brought the heat with terence’s solo ep ‘acid heroes’ and the superb mix compilation ‘house couture’, which has received widespread praise. now, we have this brand new ep from a true paris legend, and an inspiration to terence himself – the one and only, jerome pacman. rising up in the early 90s, jerome established himself through the paris underground, and has remained one of the city’s finest selectors and producers. this four-track ep includes a remix from romanian godfathers livio & roby and represents jerome’s ability to throw down fresh, classic house rhythms with a modern twist. kicking off with ‘merry-go-round’, a bass-heavy rumbler imbued with subtle house tropes, we move into ‘jp sunlight’, a bubbling groover with twinkly, dream-like effects and a bassline that will lock in from the get go. on the flip we have ‘mpa’, a simple yet effective roller that will grip you with its repetitive groove and delicate use of detail in the background. livio & roby step up for the remix of ‘mpa’, which focuses on a more unusual, organic sound ethic – typical of the romanian sound that is so widely loved. a rework that is delivered with panache,

psyth launches with the debut ep from rob shields. with a delicate urgency driven by a pulsating post-punk bassline, shards lavishes layer upon rich layer of sound, evoking the cool grooves of peaking lights and chromatics, while a shimmering vocal sample from rebecca sawyer adds an otherworldly sense of longing that echoes through the soul of the release. silhouetted appears more conventional and dance-floor friendly next to shards, but under the surface is something unique and strangely exotic. a mantra-like melody loop gives a nod to minimalist composer terry riley and his solo organ works, while world instruments such as an african kalimba and tibetan singing bowl only heighten the hypnotic and intoxicating quality even further.

jef k s silver network springs a surprise on the labels followers with a slightly darker offering than fans may be used to. part of jef s ethos is to shake things every once in a while to avoid becoming stale, so he decided to sign this super fresh cut from ludovic vendi and olive_r. nosh is a fidgety, morose production with unsettling beats and the constant mutter of voices lurking in the background.

poland s father and son records and tapes present first proper outing from label boss maciek sienkiewicz - three heavily edited tunes from different periods of popular music history. -the white sheik- turns an obscure 80s eastern bloc groove into a full-on modern disco stormer, while -no shit sherlock- is 70s brazilian fusion redux. finally, the title track turns first few notes of one massive pop hit from 02 into hypnotic, entrancing journey in the vein of terry riley or philip glass. fantastic cover art designed especially for this release by renowned contemporary artist paulina olowska.

after more than a year in the making we are almost ready to release the final chapter in psychemagiks magik series. due to incredible responses from the artists we contacted we ended up with more tracks than we needed for one album so it was decided to release magik sunset in two parts. both albums contain yet more of the long lost and obscure tracks that the previous compilations have presented and part one is now available on double vinyl in gatefold sleeve.
