the make mistakes ethos is one of diversity and evolution, and that is showcased in full on our newest vinyl release need your luvin. house, acid, techno, roy england, jarvi, fredy grogan. one track, three styles, all dance floor bounders. roy englands original mix is a jackin house jam with a timeless vibe. a classic house sound propelled forward by the titular vocal sample, england manages to deliver a track that would work equally in the lounge, as well as late night in the big room. on the b side jarvi s acid workout strips the original down even further, and fills it back up, with a wandering, hypnotic acid line to stitch it all together. an old school party sound, both familiar and fresh. fredy grogan deconstructs the original into its component parts, building it back up into his dark, and driving dub techno remix. drawing it out over nearly 8 minutes, this ll have the heads bouncing off the walls. house, acid, techno, pillars of dance music, mixed together, given the ol razzle dazzle, and served up hot and ready for mind, body, and soul. grab need your luvin, stick it in the crate, and never worry, because you ll always have the luvin you need. beware the irrational, however seductive. shun the transcendent and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. distrust compassion, prefer dignity for yourself and others. dont be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish. picture all experts as if they were mammals. never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. seek out argument and disputation for their own sake the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. suspect your own motives, and all excuses. do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you.

experienced crate diggers are no doubt familiar with new birth, the 17-piece funk ensemble sampled on classic hip-hop records by wu-tang clan, de la soul, junior m.a.f.i.a., black sheep, lil wayne, ice cube, and many more. the genesis of new birth can be traced back to the nite-liters, a louisville-based instrumental outfit. founded in 1963 by motown songwriter/producer harvey fuqua and saxophonist tony churchill, the nite-liters released a handful of albums in the early 70s, scoring a few minor hits and perfecting the sound that would power new birth to further success as the decade progressed. while much of the the nite liters’ early material has been overlooked, their self-titled debut album is worth revisiting. originally released on rca records in 1970, the nite liters is a raw, soulful masterpiece that has been sampled by kmd, ghostface killah and others.

the nine-piece uk-based reggae unit enjoyed a measure of success in the latter half of the 70s. here s the debut album book of revelation from 1978, re-issued in the original artwork and 180 gram heavy weight vinyl, all re-mastered music and additonal leaflet with liner notes. the longplayer was recorded and mixed by the legendary mark angelo lusardi who worked also with dennis bovell, creation rebel, prince far i, public image limited, and who developed later an outboard eq / filtering device called the mutator, used by numerous recording artists including massive attack, radiohead and daft punk.

we would like to present: norm talley the mystic ep(tm-015). this classic piece of vinyl has been one of tmrs most requested eps since its original release in 1999. circles is a deeply rooted detroit dance scorcher blended with 70s soul influences. vi-bray-shun rmx is compiled of long melodic chords, driving bass and vocal stabs, with a 2012 twist. innerpeace shines through with a melodic groove no different in todays standards even after 13 years! the mood groove! norm talley at his finest, deep in the motor city.

edits may be dead, but just when your elitist attitude comes to a head and you think you re on top of your game, there will always be someone deeper, faster and still motivated enough to rekindle your digging desires. where blackdisco volume 10 saw the return of lovefingers and nitedog, volume xi pushes forward into new territory (and with a new aesthetic) by welcoming a group of three deep diggers who shun musical trends and their inherent fakers. dea, albion & spacelex combine their vinyl-mining efforts to unearth some real diamonds from the rough. deas cut malaka is a floater with a funky sailboat vibe, while his complimentary cut taubat takes the tired jungle disco vibe to new level with its triumphant synth-led chorus, an absolute stunner that could be extended for 20 minutes. on the flip, albion spoons water over the coals, steaming up the joint with an uptempo percussion bomb as if santana had a disco secret, and spacelex rides us out with a sexy rock groove complete with mysterious male voiceover, almost as if someone lowered the volume to whisper in your ear.
