ichisan s 2017 aperitiv was so good that we ve decided to return for a second helping from his sumptuous album. four choice cuts have been selected and reworked with a specific instrument focus. the harpsicord version of -hotel- keeps the intoxicating melody of the original but allows beats to relax as notes shine with an incandescent brilliance. drums put their feet up for the rhodes version of -modri tunel.- deep stings and lounging lines mingle in this work of smoke swirling seduction. -kozmetika (trumpet version)- dances to a different tune. rich bass is again central but this time brash and bold brass intertwine with funk filled bars. the last waltz arrives with the piano version of -terminal e.- alluring notes ascend, rising and falling against heartwrenching guitar strings for a finale to end this ballroom inspired beauty.

bordello a parigi is on the hunt once again, this time journeying to southern france to unearth an up and coming sect of synthesizer sorcerers: blind delon. hailing from toulouse, the triumvirate of mathis kolkoz, théo fantuz and coco thiburs offer a sound that combines indie and wave with seemingly effortless execution. the soft interlude of -sometimes- introduces assassin. a groove grips pulsing rhythms, subtle strings and throaty vocals in the captivating -sombre soleil-. those vocals become even deeper in the dreamy -j ai honte-. smoke spirals around keys in this brooding work of guitars rifts and bruised egos. the title piece perfectly melds warm strings with cold synthlines for a superb climax to an ep that exudes modern synth-wave chic.

bordello a parigi has just returned from a fruitful expedition to russia to secure a four tracker from st petersburg synthesizer playboy kito jempere. super sax sounds is a rich and varied expression from an artist who has explored a spread of sounds during his career. the a-side is the product of one diverse machine, the yamaha qy-70. -bueller s dance- gets the show on the road with latin showband flare. the opener brims with cruising notes, crisp claps and smooth bass, a track guaranteed to put a smile on any face. moods change with the tear stained chords of -space commercial-, a superbly subtle work of joy and heartbreak. a colder wind permeates the flip as a cinematic and sinister element enters. toms and snares support the descending bars of -atmosphere-, a track where tropical dreams cloud into despair. those dreams are purged by -tomohawk-, a dark prowler who stalks with a maniacal glint and menacing intent. an audio feast care of kito jempere.

it s with two kisses and a hearty handshake that bordello a parigi welcome stalwart of electronic music: mr pauli. schooled on the west coast, this pivotal figure has worked extensively with likeminded visionaries to create iconic tracks as the novamen, matzo & pauli and sumerian fleet whilst producing his own unique works on labels like moustache and viewlexx. after such successes pauli returns as a solo producer, delivering to the bordello mansion two tracks of pure class. -at night- is big, bright and brilliant. hooks grip as soon as the needle lands. vintage vocoder lyrics, a particular favourite of this trailblazer, tell a tale of twilight romance while crisp beats snap and notes sail. the flip keeps the fires burning. synthlines are soaked in mediterranean sunshine, an italo disco influence coming to the fore, with lovelorn vocals used to balance this cheer-filled creation. golden sounds from a true pioneer.

in 2012 bottin presented a mysterious neo-italo-wave band: cristalli liquidi. this album, finally, unveils the mystery: cristalli liquidi is not a band, not in the conventional sense of the word. it s entirely bottin s music, lyrics and vocals, with a little help from his friends. this long overdue lp not only introduces original works, but also breathes new life into remakes of obscure italian pop songs. sun-blushed synthwork is embraced by vocals steeped in romance, vocals en italiano no less. the many guises of the glitterball are unveiled, from the deep bass and smooth funk of 70s disco into the catchy hooks of the 80s and beyond to darker tones and lovelorn laments. across nine tracks the venetian takes you on a journey, as his homeland of italy is musically explored through past and present. cristalli liquidi is an album some five years in the making, five years at first glance. in reality, this lp is a narrative that spans almost thirty-five years. from the poets and songwriters who inspired bottin to the friendships and collaborations that made this project possible, this is an album forged through memories old and new, a heartfelt account of relationships between people (and synthesizers too!)

a new group strut their way down the bordello boardwalk. the chameleon outfit of yellocat, emblazoned with colour, arrive with dans la boutique and are true to their debut 12- title. a deep wardrobe of styles has been raided for this four track ep. first comes the latin funk of -mi hermano-, a lust laden duet of sweet chords and dancefloor desires, before the lounge romance of -tout a&#768,,, moi.- language is played with, spanish shimmies into french before english takes over the flip. -rivals of mars- is brash interplanetary battle. synthlines glisten against vocoder lyrics in an epic struggle between our world and theirs. the pop-scented warmth of -chasing the light- leads the 12- out, a ballad of late night excess amidst the glass and steel of the city.

the 100th release on bordello a parigi had to be something special. and here it is. the official re-issue of this huge italo banger originally released in 1984 on merak music, italy. i m burning, i don t know what to do. my love is like a furnace i know you feel it too. on fire, my heart s in ecstasy i know we ll stay together, the flames in you and me. i m on fire, with desire for you. can t you feel it too. i m on fire, want to be with you. know you want me too. being with you is uplifting me. higher and higher so lovingly. being with you is uptaking me. farther and farther so dreamily. i m on fire, i want you. now i know you want me too. i m on fire, i want you. now i know you want me too.

over his twenty year the hacker has traversed a spread of styles, from frosted electro to raging techno slammers. -midnight bliss- shows another side of this multitalented artist. warmth flows from the title piece. clean rhythm patterns are spiked by synthlines as liquid melodies are swirled into a carefree cocktail that simply radiates. -heavy duty disco- takes over the flip and runs headlong into speakers. the hacker builds a track of generous proportions. textured keys weave through columns of toms and snapping beats before bruising basslines descend for a late night encounter of formidable intent. without doubt, a future classic from a classic creator.

...and in the end, not a great deal is known about the spanish duo futuro. the saga begins with the discovery of a cache of test pressings deep within the shelves of a very dusty record shop near the plaza del toros de valencia. as is the case with these things there was no promo sheet or any other information outside of three clues etched into the run-out groove: futuro, jollyman, mcmlxxxvii. through deduction and reasoning it was soon realised that jollyman was a short lived italian record label that closed it s doors in 1987. there were rumours for a while that jollyman was a mafia wedding gift to a music enthused female family member, but as the journey continued it became slightly more likely that this was a tax write-off for it s owners, as the label itself was never very successful, and was more likely an afterthought rather than a full on passion project. that is not to say that there were not gems hidden within it s small catalogue, most notably from noted library musician, composer and arranger alessandro signoretti, without whose help this release would not be presently in front of you. alessandro s assistance led us to the infamous hafenklang studio in hamburg, germany. the very same studio used by boytronic to record their classic lp the continental (some of the same dx presets can easily be heard on both albums) and despite the insane amounts of musicians that have passed through those doors the owner clearly remembered the duo and finally the mysterious futuro had names: javier c rayón and raúl láynez.

too late for the italo boom, and too early for the sonido de valencia craze, the recordings of futuro have sat on master tapes since 1987 finally awaiting their much deserved audience. bordello a parigi are more than proud to present this lost late slow-mo synthesizer italo masterpiece onto the world.

born in an x1/9 and raised on a diet of b-movies, cerrone and fettuccine, french dj and producer alan dente is the latest addition to the esteemed bordello a parigi roster. a full time member of parisian party crew and digging experts les yeux orange, dente has spent the last few years tearing up the banlieues and blogosphere with a heady mix of disco, boogie, italo and proto-house. after a life changing contribution to manctalo institution red laser records, dente arrives at the bordello in style with his dancefloor haute couture.
