two tracks from a brand new (second in a row) ep by warsaw-based duo tumult hands fully illustrate paradoxical approach of jacek sienkiewicz and jurek przeŸdziecki to the creation of a common integrated form. spontaneous compositional decisions and minute sound interventions are contrasted here with a persistent precision of rhythms generated by both musicians in a reality of an inter-studio space, in moments of an encounter, sometimes, fully controlled collision, of two worlds. full of inner rigour and logic (record is a prime example of modern functionalist music), although teeming with fantasy and flourish, tumult hands current explorations also announce duos full-length lp, soon to be released through recognition records.

recognition recordings proudly presents the new project on the label -tumult hands! this fairly ambiguous name hides the identities of two experienced producers, totally devoted to their machines - jacek sienkiewicz and jurek prze?dziecki. despite being radically different personalities, and despite huge differences in their way of working, jacek and jurek joined forces to create one of a kind sonic laboratory.

this time label boss jacek sienkiewicz goes under his alias reserved for club-oriented tracks, which is, well, recognition. we got accustomed to jaceks slight changes of style, or rather changes in his approach to music over the years, and this record is no exception: ditching his trademark, long, painstakingly elaborate and complex tunes in favor of probably the most straightforward, uplifting, fresh tracks in a long time.

sound of the 16th season people have their personal rituals. leaving the international space station russian space travelers left some bread and salt as a welcome gift for their american colleagues. tennis star serena williams bounces the ball exactly five times before her first serve. our beloved master of ceremony of techno music, sven vath, has a ritual as well: when the shadows on the island ibiza grow longer and the noise of the summer is about to fade away, he takes a couple of days off and reminisces the passing season, the parties, the crowds and the music: what were the craziest, the most outrageous, most beautiful moments? which situations, which encounters inspired me? what did we laugh about? and of course: what was the best music? which tracks accompanied me and my cocoon people during those intense weeks? vath assembles those magical tracks for the sixteenth time this year merging them into two and a half hour set.

grassroots is by no means a political statement. it is true that this project has emerged from and was widely influenced by recent political and social events in ukraine that resulted in many people being wounded and killed. however, its only aim is to provide support and help to families affected by those events, hence music-driven charity project would be the most suitable description for it.
