this single is very special for visions recordings as we see a fresh collaboration between alex attias and luman child, two swiss artists reunited for the first time.alex proposed luman child a collaboration after listening to his music. then they met and talked about music , visions, influences, method of work and decided straight away to work together without knowing each other well and pushing them outside their comfort zone. they are both very happy with the resultjalex attias has been in the music for many years producing, remixing many great artists and djing all over the world. at the moment alex is about to release a compilation on bbe records ( lillygood party !) , plus a couple of remixes are on the way and he s also preparing other singles for his label visions .luman child produced in 2017 a killer first album with german label solid ground still available on a neo soul hip hop tip. he reached number 11 in the uk soul charts. as a musician and bass player luman child had a few collaborations with ferry ultra, gogo music and marc mac 4 hero.the project they present here is very organic soulful and musical. this single hold two killer tunes for the listener and the dancers.the a side is a 125 bpm disco jazz funk killer jam with live bass, fender rhodes and vintage keyboards sounds driven by a very funky drum beat and live basseline aimed to the dancefloor and good time party people keeping a smile on your face. its simply groovy and goes on and on for 10 minutes of pure disco pleasure.the b side is a funky number boogie jazz funk inspired by mr ayers vibes and sounds . the rhythm is groovy at 120 bpm and the moog bassline is round and fat. accompanied both track by fender rhodes and dope keyboards sounds, this one will definitely find place in dj boxes for those who play and love soulful music with an open mind. groovy , warm and soulful at his best.

for the first solo ep on horror boogie, fedka the irritant steps up, after his outstanding track on horror boogie 01. fedka the irritant is probably best known as the trombonist in the excellent band pest (ninja tune), alongside ben pest (panic bridge, victim, bonus round). he is also a seriously original and versatile producer in his own right. he has released on panic bridge, alongside the other pest members and his trombone techno live sets are something to behold. here, he drops four varied tracks, starting with the behemoth >words for friends<. a heavy slice of wonky techno, with a big kick and rasping synth. next up is one uncertain eyebrow. a building, funky, fuzzy acid-laced track that drops harder and harder as it goes on. on side b, calypso-flavoured, jazzed up >stick it< progresses on to a become a warbling bass effort with a smooth hip-hop vocal. last but not least, is >you only die once<, another funk-laden monster, with a killer slap bass line.

arkansas native, lee moore moved to memphis in 1975 with only one goal in mind: to make it big in the music industry and to release music that would be played in new york, l.a and everywhere in between. as a singer and songwriter lee moore spent the 1980s collaborating in memphis with the best of the best session musicians and vocalists from labels like volt and stax records to record and release futuristic boogie, soul, and funk. lee moore unfortunately never got close to reach his goals of fame and fortune. past due have taken the welcome liberty of repressing this monster slice of disco-soul from moores catalogue for us all to enjoy and spin on today s dance-floors. do you feel like party? is a rare early 80s jam from the man and features all the hallmarks of his unique sound and style.this dlp features every (incredibly rare) single and 12inch that lee produced under his name and different monikers. essential boogie business!

in 1996 serotonin label heads selway and szostek went to moscow to perform at the invitation of &#1055,&#1058,&#1070,&#1063, magazine. synapse performed at the -waterclub- and met the legendary dj compass vrubell. they went to his -studio- where he had perfected the art of making entire tracks out patterns on the yamaha dx-5. szostek brought a dat of these jams back to nyc and schmer-003 dj rx-5 -a taste for crap- was released as a small run white label in 97. the run sold out and disappeared to be forgotten forever... until 2016 szostek casually mentions its existence to techno uber-nerd nina kraviz who just had to have it for her -fabric 91- cd. so dj rx-5 was back from the ash heap of history and schmer got a new release from him on schmer07. then schmer got the word out far and wide that they d like a remix ep for two of the originals: compass provided stems because like a miracle he still had the patterns after 20 years. heeding the call were pointsman, tripmastaz, steve stoll and schmer s own bpmf. so this is what you get: -a taste for remix-. it will leave your lips wanting more, for sure!

this monster 1976 lp from nassau s munnings brothers aka beginning of the end is a stone cold classic. fact. well deserving of a place in any record collection! this, their second lp (with 1971s infamous funky nassau preceding it) features the brothers original, fresh sound a mixture of tough funk rhythms, bahamian soul and flourishes of jazz and rock is an extremely well executed and produced body of work. not surprising considering the band were one of the bahamas foremost musical outfits. the brothers musical backgrounds could not have been any more fitting, they cut their teeth playing regularly alongside the likes of nat king cole and count basie at their fathers well known nightclub the cat and the fiddle, what we get on this lp however is not jazz, but lean, melodic soul music! original copies of this seminal lp can change hands for 100 s on the used/second hand market and is a solid constant at the tops of the wants lists of record aficionados. the lp has been illegally reissued numerous times without any care or attention being taken to retain or respect the quality of the amazing music contained within. not so on this occasion, this is a fully legit, sanctioned reissue done in conjunction and with the assistance of miami s tk disco empire. now is the perfect time to revisit the deep, soulful sounds of the munnings brothers endeavours, a truly sublime collection of songs, drenched in sunshine, masterfully produced and performed with pure vitality. a truly classic album. sounding as fresh as it did almost 40 years ago. jump in the water!

two slices of brilliant brazilian disco, painel de controle have a few bangers across their rca lps, these two being my favourites. *relax* is a straight up boogie monster, well known to deep disco & boogie heads flipped with *malandrinh* with its insanely catchy guitar. the original brazilian *relax* 7 inch plays at 33rpm (like many brazilian 45s), if you know you are cutting you will know this is not ideal. our new 7 inch is 45rpm and cut from a super crisp new master from the tapes at timmon cutting labs, sounds about 5x better than the o.g. ... simple choice.

limited 12 inch on the tiny don pedros label from nigerian disco supremo bobby i.g featuring two of his best and most sought-after tracks on one slab of loud-pressed vinyl. originally out on the impossible-to-find *bomp* album in 1980 (i.g.s one and only release sadly), these cuts are top-class examples of early nigerian boogie, both heavy ass-shaking floorfillers boasting some phenomenal funky guitar work and ultra-groovy bass. first up is the awesome collectors favourite *disco power* while on the flip we have the equally desirable funk monster *funk ina ghetto*. totally brilliant - dont miss!

welcome reisssue for monster soul-funk lp >disconnection<, one of the most obscure and sought-after releases from top 70s disco label, prelude. ridiculously expensive and hard-to-find in the original, this album is stuffed full with killer tracks spanning warm, soulful disco, high-stepping groove and boogie-heavy funk all written and produced by robert holmes. standouts include the jazzy free-style >dead on the case<, later reworked for the mysterious french skyline project, cool jazz-funk groover >bay city<, recently edited by none other than balearic maestro lexx, and the floor-friendly chunky funk workout >cash money<. however no track is a filler on this superb album which fully deserves its holy grail status with collectors. essential!

another super funky bunch of groovin disco goodies from the par-tay camp. first up is got the hots for u, a wonderful edit of a lost double exposure track, removing some dubious vocal sections and stretching out the groove and turning it into a funky floor-filling monster. the flip side sees two more spot-on extended edits, firstly high on da boogie, a smokin funky groove with awesome vocals and the dirtiest of b-lines while æfunk it up sees 70s glam rockers the sweet stretched out for maximum dancefloor appeal. great stuff!
