emerging from the romanian underground scene, talented young artist dragutesku finds fapte records with a prepared artwork for this release and by coincidence the name of his 2 tracks match the already made picture, so we’ve called it coincidente. on a side is the psychedelic logo of the label matching the track halucinant, having a minimal creepy sound but with a groovy pleasing vibe in the same time, making one hallucinate when listening to it & looking at the spinning center of the vinyl. as for b side, were we can find the track pastel, we must say we barely found this pastel-painting by leonid a. who gave us the right to use it, completing the art for this release maching the colorful minimal sound of the track by dragutesku later on. these are the true facts and actions (en.trans.= fapte) we experienced and hope to transmit further along with this 180g limited vinyl.

federico leocata is an italian audio-visual artist who has exhibited in athens, thessaloniki and catania. later expanding his art into the field of sound based analysis of the human psyche. first discovered by heinrich mueller (dopplereffekt, drexciya), federico released his first ep in 2010 for the belgian imprint wemè records, attracting further interest from labels like frustrated funk and last known trajectory.

the new ng trax, nima gorji and friends ep arrived and its a great split record. on his last visit to moscow few month ago, nima pop by ody art studio and together created peredelkino. back in his studio in ibiza, nima invited resident of ibiza underground kevin cook and together they worked on the second track of the b side called capish. a side comes from nima gorji him self.

following on from last years exceptional ‘obsession ep’ from art crime is a budding young talent by the name of will lister. originally from lyme regis, will moved up to london to attend goldsmiths university and in his spare time he helps us out behind the counter here at the shop. when he’s not here at the shop you can also hear him playing records on his balamii radio show or his monthly club night, ‘the aten’. ‘the phantom ep’ is his production debut and we’re extremely happy to be putting it out on our main imprint. the title track opens up the ep with heavily reverbed pads, echoed claps, crunchy percussion and repetitive synth stabs that all work together to create spaced-out atmosphere that’s full of twist and turns. flipping over to the b-side, ‘after the light’ picks up the pace with a driving high-hat rhythm and full-bodied kicks that underpin warm piano keys and smooth synth lines. ‘agency’ closes proceedings by turning up the intensity to full with a masterclass in building tension.

stasis005 is another vinyl issue of elysia crampton s digital work, following stasis003, the bound adam 2011 7inch. it is the first pressing of the light that you gave me to see you, originally released under the name e+e. the arrangements were conceived between 2011 and 2012, and the l.p. was finally assembled in 2013, while the artist was homeless in los angeles, california. this edition also includes a previously unreleased bonus track, troll song, which originates from the same period. as with bound adam 2011, the art is by felix lee, and the master is by brandon hocura.

repress! without special edition print of the cover artwork! infrastructure regularly works with up-and-coming artists on cover artwork. respected young swiss artist julian charriere provided the iconic greyscale cover for post scriptum s debut lp (inf-020), and london based photographer guy archard s work featured on campbell irvine s reunion of two bodies maxi-ep (inf-018). now the celebrated british fine-artist robert ncnally has been invited to submit original artwork for facticity. selected by jake and dinos chapman to show work at the prestigious flowers gallery in london, and commissioned by damien hurst to provide work for his private collection, robert s incredibly detailed large scale pencil drawings are attracting serious interest in the modern art world. mcnally s cover image was selected from a series of works based on adapted antique post cards. its anti-establishment, censorship-related overtones are clear to see, as is the stark use of contrast - thick layers obscure the fading original, re-appropriating it.

music is about discourse: it’s about ideas, about the intellectual project. anyone can build a “beat”, but not everybody can produce an interesting argument for it. this implies the idea of romanticism as a notion of tradition and respect for certain rules. romanticism understood as virtuosity in the manipulation of art production tools. virtuosi of their own methodology. certain pedigree of virtuosity is definitely needed…but in many regards it also remains an extremely conventional formalism, which is at the core of every artist. it doesn’t matter if you have to piss around in the subterranean electronic music trenches for over two decades. a true pioneer simply has to live with that sort of dichotomy. here there are two good examples.
