hive audio is here – a brand new label, run by the makers of the infamous hive club, located in the the industrial quarter of zurich. the imprint was founded by samuel gmur and adrian wöllhaf, better known as animal trainer with some great releasing on oliver koletzkis stil vor talent, amongst others. zurich is not only party capital of beautiful switzerland, it is more and more becoming a habitat for talented and creative music producers and djs, who will now get a new international platform. releases will be held mainly by residents of the hive club itself – benja will be given the honour to start off with his track paradose. >paradose< impresses with a funky percussion loop, ultra-brief chords and scantily applied vocal snippets. benja keeps it dust-dry, leaving out every kind of frippery and lifting the track to a real &#64258,,oor-&#64257,,ller without any razzmatazz needed. on the &#64258,,ip we have a remix by christian burkhardt, who needs no further introduction. he turns the number into a real techno loop monster, which will catch you within a few beats, and then wont let loose again. hypnotic and twinkle-toed at the same time, his remix easily will suit any after hour or peaktime set to the same degree. christian burkhardt himself is also one of our favourite guests in the club. this is why, of course, we are double happy to welcome a hive club resident on our hive audio 001.

active since 1997 and one of norways leading exponents of experimentalelectronic music, alog is the duo of espen sommer eide and dag-are haugan, mainstays at the rune grammofon label.

a member of both matthew bowers total and sunroof! projects, he appeared on three of the latters albums before helping to form the hugely influential and prolific (over 40 releases) leeds-based drone/psych-rock outfit vibracathedral orchestra in 1998.
campbell left vco in 2006 to go solo as astral social club, under which moniker he has released a number of albums (on labels like vhf, important, qbico, textile) and an ever-increasing stream of self-released cdrs in alimited edition series of volumes (currently up to #19).
the three tracks here were recorded by campbell, john clyde-evans, paul walsh and spider stacy.

dan quin has spent the last 10 years of his life mapping & mastering the animal & natural world of his promised land, the bottom of the earth, the south pole, antarctica, >the end of the world<ùand apparently producing some of the newest in dark analog driven techno & house. determined to create what he called >an artistic testament to the great antarctic expanse,< quin employed the recordings on his 1st 12 inch release, the haunting and epic >at the end of the world.< we can only hope he continues to labor away in his igloo of inspiration, hearing further calls of primitive encouragement and continuing his crusade to bring the beautiful silence of the arctic to our warm & ready earlobes.
