it is jam citys turn to deliver a batch of sweaty, streamlined dancefloor weapons on the 6th installment of the club constructions series. the minimalism and intensity of jersey club music remains a huge influence on the whole night slugs camp, and while jerseys impact can be felt across the cc series, jam city channels those devastating ghostly kick drums like none other. continuing on from where he left off with club favourites *the courts* the *how we relate to the body*, jam drops 5 lean and intense drum workouts build from scrap metal and primed for warehouse use. they move between thudding midrange persistence and just-sub-and-air minimalism, framed by jammed drum machine rhythms and splashes of re-sampled colour. jam decorates these sturdy and well-deployed undercarriages with silvery detail, percussion fragments, broken talkboxes, whispered vox and simple, beautiful chords.

french producer kool vibes returns with a third offering on his own self titled label, continuing to mine that sound classically rooted in the early 90s east coast swing of new york and new jersey. vibes abound on > u got me< with the titular vocal hook leading a orchestra of bouncing percussive rhythms, spritely neon dipped keys and an infectious bassline thump, whilst > house music< shows kool vibe dipping into the sounds of vintage murk productions with equal aplomb

hot on the heels of dj deeps inaugural kern mix for tresor comes *kern vol.2*, selected and mixed by gigolos boss dj hell. the first 12 inch vinyl ~ the exclusives ~ comes packed with previously unreleased tracks, specially crafted for kern vol.2 and carefully selected and re-edited by dj hell. argentinean producer extraordinaire jonas kopp offers his own interpretation of the hell sounds with x, an incendiary and wreckless number of instant gritty appeal. on the flip, two reworks operated by hell specially for the occasion. the infamous flashback 86 by capracara receives a raw treatment, for full dancefloor effect. the 1993 classic by halogen (aka zach roberts), bliss gets extended and reconstructed with complete new drums.

hot on the heels of dj deeps inaugural kern mix for tresor comes *kern vol.2*, selected and mixed by gigolos boss dj hell. the second 12 inch – the rarities – is a precious collection of forgotten early 90s grooves. on the a-side, none other than mr. daniel bell contributes to this special kern vol.2 with a track that has never seen the light of day since its year of production, 1992 – the chicago style version of his legendary blip title. a collectors piece. the b-side starts with nyc 90s lenny dee and ralphie dees (aka major problems) overdose, a 1990 relentless number originally released on nu groove. back to 92 with sub-cultures - dreams released on hayden browns own imprint strobe. all mixes on the original and rare 12 inch are simply excellent, and dj hell chooses here the forgotten tribal life mix.
