good things come to those who wait ... especially to those who wait for the next original dennis ferrer release on his imprint, objektivity. maniac 3000 is the second anthemic single from ferrer s much anticipated upcoming album on defected, paranoia aftermath , to drop early 2017. tapping into his techno-roots for this one, ferrer has managed to create an unlikely union between the groovy techno drums and the suspense of arpeggiated synth line. in ferrer s own words the track was an attempt to go backwards, to move forward .

following last years dangerously good depatterning lp, ipman returns to tectonic to deliver his latest instalment in bass-driven technoid mutations. constrict jumps straight into the deep end at 140bpm, diving head first into pulsing waves of warping, dynamic synth layers swimming back up to the surface for air. as the intro build peaks, the track effortlessly strikes when the bass drops in, charging the techno synth interplay with a sort of 3/4-step type rhythm shaping the movements. impeccable dance floor music that sits in an undefined zone between the worlds of techno, dubstep and somewhere yet defined. flip then for running man, which sees a sharp drop in tempo, bringing the speed down to 120bpm but maintaining the energetic build of constrict. starting from an almost empty space, running man takes an upward momentum, building and layering percussion and sonic textures as the heat of the chase takes full effect. dark and deadly, this is one for fans of sci-fi sonics and dread vibrations.

newcastle-based producer traela makes his first appearance on wax with this on-point work out for hhatri, a london based label who have previously been happily working with the likes of soichi terada. there is definitely a sense of feel-good optimism and kinked drum programming hovering over this ep, especially on hanging over a river. you know i can hide also stands out with its strafing bass lick and spacescraping synth rolls, but the script gets flipped for ep closer uyokuthola as tribal percussion meets with an ambient atmosphere for a most engrossing end result.

returning from the unknown space of his debut, martianman is back to refine his label’s ethos, continuing the exploration of sci-fi themes & deep ambience with vol.2 the opener, “got a dream”, bubbles up from submerged atmospheres, as a crisp, rattling break fights its way through the fog. martianman once again shows off his ear for textures, subtle vocals fade in and out of an entrancing, bottomless pad. a dark-meets-light journey through the cosmos. “amber fields” comes straight from the halcyon days of the mid-90’s intelligent movement. a light, rolling hot pants break gives way to a myriad of pads, strings and bleeps, each element shifting neatly throughout the fold. fans of the good looking vibe would do well to pick up this piece of subtle, understated beauty.

in 2016, the festival in prora releases another vinyl, and this time it is a real tasty tidbit. the boys from kiel, mitja & daniel mes, who also played at this year’s festival, included their track „feel free“ on the record. this track is the beach-echo and a perfect medicine against the winter blues. the second track originates straight from the island rügen, produced by the well-known irie island crew and holds the name „rügen rockt“. the name speaks for itself and through the well harmonized dub-swing reggae vibes be sure to be grooved from north to south of the small island. the backside of the vinyl is a piece of handcrafted art. the very distinct tag am meer logo is engraved through the help of a special technique called: etched. this record does not only sound good, but it also looks amazing.

limited repress due to high demand on requests. on its second release, the fresh label eating records, native of brussels, embarks us on its most unlikely underground journey yet .the new project includes two beautiful tracks from the deep flows of house music, from the unfamous talented producer from kiev, io (mulen). there s no point in trying to place io or his music in some larger social picture. no need to talk about his intensive production. his successful releases can be found on imprints such as rejected (joris voorn), propaganda (nastia), elarum and his own mulen records which he started in 2012 and that released his stunning debut album within 2013. on flutes/creeps ep, he thrives on fantastic impossibilities including flutes and deep melodic basses. it is obvious that mister io had a wonderful time making the two tracks. flutes comes up as victorious and gallant. it is an energizing shock full of curious noises, mesmerizing musical surprises, a real dancefloor track. creeps is discreet and dark, and remains beautifully deep. this track finds io wrenching as much sweetness out of it as he possibly can, in return giving us our first indication that he is in a generous spirit. when this ep comes to an end, it feels like getting back from a good vacation: the last thing you want to do is re-enter the real world.

what would electronic music be without remixes? this is a question andrew claristidge had to answer last year after releasing his first solo album danser ou mourir. reworking the song of an other musician is a common thing nowadays. what is the purpose of it ? what if we would do the same in literature ? imagine asking philip roth to rewrite houellebecq... this is pure fantasy and this came to andrew s head.

we are back - bringing that raw and funky garage vibe to vinyl & kicking off our artist series with a selection of original underground garage artists from back in the day - so who better to start off such a release with no other than an innovator of that scene and mastermind behind those tuff jam beats, mr karl -tuff enuff- brown.

nyc loft trax exploded onto the scene a year ago with a white label containing unreleased dat tape archives from the 1990 s. people lost their minds and it proceeded to sellout of shops in what seemed like minutes! with anything that is from an unknown lost world you have your doubters, but those that know could hear and feel the validity of these authenthic tapes. you seriously could not capture the vibe that obviously was witnessed on that record. the label continued to dig into various sources to release all types of unreleased and amazingly good records. so with the integrity we see this label exercise get excited as this is another selection of lost yet found 1990 s dat tape trax! this is the real deal, let s not kid ourselves now. lots of hot heat on this one containing deep, dubs and disco! side note: the city in particular has a nu groove records story attached to it. basically it is the instrumental of an unreleased remix. that s all we have been told on that one. interesting! grab this now! expect this to go fast!

back in the days at the west-saxon highlands there was a missile, which marked the starting point. when credit 00 saw the legendary rocket rise on tetris’ final screen, it was the first time he became aware of electronic music at all. since then it actually hasn’t changed that much. he keeps pushing that buttons that belong to the impressive pool of music machines towered up next to his bed. after moving to dresden in 2000 to study fine arts, his passion for synthesizers and drum machines got nurtured through visits of dresden’s club-canalisation. he quickly made himself a name as a dj, who is just doing his own thing and got popular for that reason. as a part of the idealfun-crew he started hosting parties always in the twilight zone between legal and illegal. this led to “robo dance”, dresden’s only and (also for some other reasons) best electro club night featuring guests like dmx krew, luke eargoogle or imatran voima. the track credit made with randy barracuda of imatran voima has probably been created some time after the show. apparently, randy was not in good shape anymore and so “lebensraum” unmistakably bears credit’s hallmarks. for his own music he’s inspired by cannibal movies, number theory and birds. still, his music is not easy to pigeonhole. after all, he loves synth wave, electro, afro, kraut, kosmische, disco, italo, miami bass and other proto stuff – a lot of machine music.

mysterious producer kian t is a crazy guy living in a lonely house on a top of a hill somewhere in italy. surrounded by a collection of rare old synths and vintage samplers, a little dog and the best red wine of italy. kian is making beats all day long. that’s his life. he started his career on toy tonics last year and now is back with an own ep - full of that fucked up, jazz influenced cut & paste house sound that is taking over the house world since last year. similar to his friends rhode & brown, fouk, nachtbraker or the guys around oye records in berlin he loves to create this special way of sampling old jazz records and using rare vintage synthesizers instead of digital computer sounds. just listen to a normal deep house records of the last years and compare it with the sound of the kian. using these old synths makes a big difference. you can hear it on every of his tunes: there is no cheap sound here everything is fat and has a very warm, personal, always easy to recognize sound-aesthetic: courtesy of the four synthesizers he uses: the korg polysix, the sequential prophet600, a roland juno 60, and the legendary oberheim matrix 6. and courtesy of the way he mixes his tracks: not in the laptop - but the old way: on a fat old mixing desk. thats why he has that massive sound.

the number of bad luck is the number of good luck in our world. antoine harispuru aka golden bug is back on lddlm with what has been a constant night hit for ivan smagghe since he magically received it. we are very happy to share it with you. progress feat. diego holdez kind of defies categorisation, and blows the walls of the classic slow downed clocks of golden bug. we d describe it as vocal funk? you may describe it the way you want. ask your girlfriend, she seems to love it. on remix duty, miami come berlin bad boy danny daze a rest from the big room for a pounding omnidisc version that will slowly burns through any leather jacket, very corrosive stuff. physical disco is classic golden bug, a demented industrial pinball machine of some kind. whilst supernova is that exact machine played by a retro-futurist vocoder robot. think aux 88 played at 33rpm and you ll be as close as you can.

*stranger things* ist eine neue netflix-tv-serie, die gerade in deutschland gestartet ist und international große wellen schlägt. die mystery-serie bietet jede menge referenzen an die 80er jahre, vergleiche zu steven spielberg und stephen king werden gerne gezogen. nicht weniger im fokus: der kongeniale soundtrack von kyle dixon & michael stein. von atmosphärischen stücken bis hin zu treibenden synthie-pop reicht das musikalische spektrum. hier wird gerne eine parallele zu dem score von -drive- gezogen, wohl einem der ikonografischsten soundtracks der letzten jahre.

nice price deal !!! belgium based artist olivier gr?oire aka kolombo, well known for his releases on labels like systematic, turbo, boxer or his own imprint viceversa, is coming up with a new ep on blufin. the steady & high quality of his productions made kolombo a key artist of the blufin rooster for a good reason: he never failed to impress us and sure is not about to start now. supplementing the release, italian producer daniele papini adds his modern interpretation of tweedle dee. we say yeah !!!

lessismore (formerly lessismorecordings) was launched 10 years ago, and has been on hold for a few years. at the time the transition from vinyl to digital didn’t feel right and now that the vinyl market is coming up again the love and faith to release a beautiful product (vinyl with cool artwork) is back. this 10 year anniversary is a good reason to revive from hibernation state and to start sharing great music again. the first few releases from the relaunch will represent re-releases of the strongest ep’s from the back catalogue with remixes by respected artists.
