marco bernardi marks his second outing on the dirty planet imprint with a 4 track ep bursting with emotion and originality. >i feel the lies< has a more laid back approach with deep and trippy grooves and evolving acidy stabs which are complimented with the unassuming and neatly placed vocal of detroit legend and aux88 founder keith tucker, making it one of those truly >special< tracks. second track >giro< (exium remix) is directed more towards the harder techno fans keeping the arrangement simple and the kick big and bold, this excellent remix has seen early support from surgeon with him choosing to feature it on the recently released fabric53 mix cd. flipping the record over sees two tracks exploring different sounds and moods. >msry< builds pace surrounded by an array of atmosphere, hissing percussion and lush detroit sounding synths where as killer track >giro< is a raw, off beat, electro monster laced with acid sequences and dirty bass.

not many single releases can be labelled as events, especially not in the ever homogenised techno world, but the first single from model 500 in eleven years, and the first recorded by the new band line up is most definitely an event.
its only fitting that this single is released on r&s records, whose relationship with the man widely acknowledged as the originator of detroit techno goes back 17 years and who released the last model 500 album back in 1999.

supplement facts records continue their rich run of form by handing a label debut to detroit-native lee curtiss. the >and we all fall down< ep has been one of the most hotly anticipated from the israeli label and is set to become the soundtrack to the last echoes of summer. we continue to dance, as the days grow short our nights become longer and lees ep is the perfect accompaniment�.>i can hear you arthur<, a tribute to one of lees long-time music heroes, arthur russell, is an emotional escape. with russell being a direct sound-inspiration for the release, we are treated to a longing for a far away love. with waves of sound that build and cascade, accompanied by pillow-talk whisperings, all creating eight minutes of rhythmic, warm grooves. arthur never sounded better. after the body-swaying vibes of the a, side b brings the perspirec-electronic throb and hip-grinding action of labor of love. after yearning for arthur, we are more than appeased with the beautifully sultry and ever so intimate vocals of stephanie selvaggio. with its rhythmic guitar opening belying its true intention, labor of love develops into a sensual dancefloor cut with stephanies vocals floating effortlessly with the acidic beats as she drives us �crazy, and we all fall down is a perfect example of an artist at his most vunerable. its brutally honest sound invites the listener in with open arms and wraps itself around them like a warm cashmere blanket. as the brutal realisation that summer is almost over starts to sink in�its worth taking comfort in records like this, that make the transition that much easier.

one year later the label panacustica delivers a slamming second twelve inch rats mother followed by a brilliant prins thomas remix, plus a detroit inspired instrumental by stay gold, argentoÆs alter ego. the record opens with a dreamy version where a plucked string intro and rats voice drive you into a deep, cinematic, adult dance groove. this laid back, psychedelic track flows well beyond your usual dance floor act into eno-esque territories. prins thomass mix is faster, happier and jumpier. its an amazing balearic trip with a live warm feel to it in which a guitar plays along the melody, accentuating the spaced out feel of the track, lifting it into higher states. stay gold gives the listeners a techno version where sparse, mechanical drums and a minimized melody take us to the motor city (citta dei motori) for a night drive in the dark. own it, feel it, play it loud.

detroit artist jason fine is back with a follow up to his critically acclaimed future thought album. the master of the introspective and personal techno sound gives us another killer release, once again transforming daily life experience into beautiful and moving deep techno and house. jason fine continues to play around with layered melodies and harmony mixed with raw and funky drum programming. the ep opens with the track orange, a beautiful monotone organ based techno track, revealing hard times. violet continues in the same vein. blue melodies play around over minor organ chords and heavy kick drum. on the inner tracks blue and red jason with confidence moves into the electro territory, still keeping emotion and atmosphere up front. even though the concept behind this ep is the full color spectrum, the mood is all over blue.

yore welcomes ibex to the yore family. tony ollivierra aka ibex, who is no stranger at all to the world of detroit house music, known for his outstanding releases on carl craigs >planet e< or his hot gems on 3rd ear and rushhour, returns in full effect on our 26th release. here he brings us four tracks, so deep (and yet grooving without a doubt), unique and full of class, that it still leaves us simply speechless. the music on this ep is so rich and full of musical ideaÆs, like we havent heard it since a very long time. one can tell you need history and expertise behind to drop something like this and ibex sure has what it takes. hes been releasing high quality house music since early 2000 and has been touring as a dj since the mid nineties, which all you can sense in his music. this is one of our personal favourite releases so far and we can only strongly recommend to get your copy while they last. killer ep not to be missed and already a classic today!

finally, the live virtuoso olene kadar is back again with release #4 on his homebase mos ferry! not only the really massive kick makes the a-side >deal< a true stomper, that might put a smile on every detroit fans face also a guy called gerald would be thrilled! kadar uses common sounds and styles to stack his own unconventional sound-building - his own >house<. driving is probably the adjective that can express most accurately what constitutes the eight and a half minutes track with its funky organ chords. the b-side >sot:2< contains an equally virtuoso ass-shaker. somewhere between industrial aesthetics of the reverberated snare and the indefinable squawking sound its elements combine into a multi-dimensional piece of >club therapy< full of extremes. the unity of groovy kick and bass constitutes a high contrast to the vast extending percussion that moves at times in dramatic and absurd dimensions. approaching the drop, the almost out of control snare rolls and percussion drown any crowd in their own sweat dripping from the ceiling.

hailing from leipzig in germany is an artist whos music has been pricking up many ears across the global underground over the last few years. its hard to put a finger on what it is about kassem mosses productions that make repeated listening a must, but the intricacy, fresh arrangements and musical depth definitely play a part in attracting labels such as the highly respected techno imprint workshop, the legendary soma records and now nonplus are honoured to present his latest 12 inch. a) kassem mosse � >we speak to those< first up on the a-side we have >we speak to those< a 4/4 track of the highest quality that keeps you guessing from start to finish. the rugged and raw kick and bassline immediately set the foundations for the incoming awkward chord stabs whilst reversed beats lazily slur in and out over the main groove giving the track the unnerving feeling that its almost changing tempo. random sound effects and a non conforming arrangement make this track about as predictable as the english summer. one listen to this and youll immediately understand why this artist is getting love from some of the scenes biggest players at the moment. aa) kassem mosse � >hi res< phased drum machine breakbeat patterns and stutered percussion redolent of the early detroit techno uprising give this track an outstanding quality of being able to conjure up the same feelings of hope and optimism for electronic music that the aforementioned era managed to. thought provoking chord progressions take your mind on an excursion to the future and leave you gagging for an extended trip. think skyways, flying cars and towering metal buildings footed with dark abysmal underworlds and youll get the drift. they don t come much deeper than this one
