the analog music project is a musical act that focus on building a coherent sound stage using only vintage musical instruments. its debut album odyssey features seven original themes, as well as covers from artists such as krafwerk, roy ayres and vangelis.  from electro-bossa to cosmic-swing, the projects revives and reinvents classic genres giving them a modern analog twist. when listening to odyssey, which was developed over two years of hard work, one can hear a fine selection  of exquisite musical instruments.

the madrid-based producer had previously released a single track jackin under the alias maan back in 2012 on dj deep s kern vol. 01 compilation.
psyk takes the stage with a four-track solo ep ‘works’. on both side’s first positions – with ‘definition’ and ‘balance’ – psyk delivers electrifying tracks teetering on the boundaries of hypnosis.
on the inner-rims, psyk slows down the pace with ’stigma’ and ‘lowdown’, introducing some industrial tones to his techno equation.

city fly are very excited to present their latest 12 inch, this time coming from long time friend of the label and all round powerhouse kez ym. the leicester label have long been representing for the east midlands underground house scene, bringing local talent to the world and bringing global connections to their locale. hot off the back of their 10th release celebration va and a strong offering from legend tim toh, the japanese connoisseur kez ym is back with more of the goodness that has made him a favourite of the label from such an early stage.
the ep drips with kezs trademark blend of deepness, kicking off with the heads down groover of *bump into the sky*. next up *eagle eye* builds around crisp 909 drums and a super tight bass line. pure classic vibes from start to finish. over on the flip *my joy* is underpinned by deep, jazzy chords and finishing off we have *spiral traffic* which takes things to a new tip entirely with an almost latin feel to the chord patterns.

shift work are an electronic duo who have previously released on jd twitch’s glasgow label optimo. they debut on houndstooth with ‘document ii’, an ep developed from live jams on outboard analogue gear. ‘abandoned hands’ is lean and raw, an angular bassline and indecipherable vox punctuating the relentless 4/4 kick drum and pattering percussion. ‘sbfm’ is fuller-bodied, with the modulating bassline taking centre stage, draped in loose synths and topped with a deadpan vocal refrain. shift work invited remixes from their associates, with dva damas dialling down the tempo and stripping back ‘abandoned hands’ further still, whilst factory floor return to remix duty on houndstooth with a typically subtle yet infectious building groove. cut and mastered by matt colton at alchemy and limited to 500 copies worldwide.

winter 2015 is here and drumcode continues to release the hottest new tracks that make waves within the techno community. releasing tracks from artists such as adam beyer, alan fitzpatrick, joseph capriati, maceo plex, luigi madonna, ida engberg, joel mull, sam paganini, harvey mckay and dubspeeka.
moving into the latter stage of 2015, drumcode are keeping up the refined techno that they have displayed and are making sure that they continue to keep up this form throughout heading into 2016. steve rachmad is a name familiar to everyone within the electronic music scene. he has been a big part of the scene for over two decades and boasts a whole host of records and shows.
he has been remixed by the likes of ricardo villalobos, joris voorn and more. rachmad is now hosting his own studio 80 based club night kis where he plays mesmerising extended sets. steve rachmad is welcomed to the vinyl-only offshoot drumcode limited. disturbance is a punchy little number that has a stuttering synth that rises over the top of the pounding kick drum. steps takes it up a notch with a simplistic bleep pattern that modulates throughout that is awash with a throbbing undercurrent.

sold out! what happens when scales and patterns of contradicting emotional imprints combine? when light and darkness, bitter and sweet, frost and blaze collide? those are the questions that johannes heil chooses to address on his upcoming album, opening up a vast grey-scaled area for the listener to traverse with techno as a blindfold. <black light> sees the german techno mainstay return to the album format for an intimate ten track odyssey of close-curtained introspection. heil chooses the words of fellow futurist nikola tesla to set the stage of the black light story: >black is the true face of light, only we do not see this<. track names are dropped in favor of a chronology of scenes, better adapted to the seemingly polar opposition of the forces that the figure and cocoon regular conjures throughout the album. everything that we perceive is processed and set into relation with past memories, digested emotions and iron-branded impressions. battling the current, johannes heil chooses to challenge certitudes by forcing us out of our comfort zones into the absence of light. if the pictures painted on >black light< are dark, they are also far from monochromatic. the machine-driven sonic prism acts both as the heavy cloud and the burst of light that shoots through to guide us. its the aggressor and the victim, the clenched teeth and the jubilant, the paranoia and the sanity of the mind. its pure heads-down driving techno with volumes of grandiose. provoking our senses, extending his art onto our personal canvases, the exile boss gives the listener the freedom to interpret the emotional context of each piece, to write the scripts of the individual scenes. the impression that >black light< leaves upon first listen testifies that 20 years down the road, johannes heil shows no sign of slowing down.

marc cerrone became the star of incredible live experiences in paris and elsewhere. as if, after having spent the first step of his musical career elaborating his repertoire, he’d chosen to devote the second one to make it live permanently. firstly on stage, then through younger generations: when bob sinclar samples his music or invites him to collaborate, it’s a new way for cerrone to keep his main ability alive: make crowds dance. a talent which most of his younger fans - todd terje, prins thomas, james murphy and a whole generation of cosmic disco lovers - agree to and get inspiration from. from 1976 to 2014, cerrone, whose discography makes so many others jealous, never stopped playing and keeping his beat which he considers vital. and if disco music had to be summarized to one artist, one creator, it would be him and nobody else. this exclusive double lp sounds like a tribute to his prolific discography, containing incredible remixes talented producers. a cd with all tracks is included.

the first years, from his first album in 1976 to his 7th in the middle of the 80’s, were fuelled with an exemplary sense of creativity and a free-spirit vision. against everyones advice, cerrone was never reluctant to compose long and pure trance disco tracks, not exactly radio-friendly at the time, but which did incredibly well because they encapsulated the hedonism of the day and were far more than a trend. for instance, love in c minor and supernature have become unbeatable classics, featured regularly in the best pop, disco or dance selections, such a success would have burnt most of the others wings, whose career would have been ruined. at the beginning of the 80s, when he decided to unleash his creativity on stage, cerrone managed to rebound with you are the one studio album.

the third release from budding label odd / even comes from spanish production outfit nx1. the duo first surfaced in 2011 with a release on their eponymous label and quickly established a reputation with releases across labels like semantica, m_rec ltd or their own nx1 label. having appeared on a sensational release from odd / even earlier this year, alongside the persuader, a&s, pär grindvik, and andre kronert, nx1 now take centre stage for the label, combining frenetic percussion with condensed textures to create a four track ep of blistering, febrile techno.outstanding coverprint, shrinked and dj friendly 140g pressing. mastering and cut by cgb at dubplates and mastering.

having previously released together on other labels, friends and musical partners tomoki tamura and tuccillo activate a new stage of their relationship with the unveiling of doublet. both a new production moniker and label, doublet will act as a platform for the pair to channel their own music. tomoki and his holic trax label have long been serving up solid house music whilst tuccillo has conjured up numerous chart toppers on labels like 2020vision, visionquest and holic trax. the debut doublet release takes shape as 202, a three track 12inch that blends elements of classic house with future minimalism with the results undoubtedly stylish.

ravage are happy to announce that rising dutch talent, daniel te boekhorst aka induction, will take centre stage as the first artist to release on the label with liturgical hymns, the first in our ravage white series. surrounded by music in his youth and having learned piano at an early age, inductions play things were eventually set aside and replaced by his fathers analogue hardware and synthesizers. it was in the blood. his sound? a heady concoction of electronica that ranges from deep, melodic and groovy to more urgent and harder realms. a fresh face and name for the scene but one that is destined for great things, all starting right here with rws001 - liturgical hymns.

throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht” parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

high mobility weapons unit sets off from an unknown location on earth, making its maiden voyage beyond our solar system and towards a distant galaxy. the transverse velocity ep is the debut release on the self-titled imprint, serving up four original tracks that are heavily influenced by mechanical cycles and deep space concepts. the a-side kicks off with the eps title track transverse velocity, where an array of eroded satellite bleeps and waves loop together as the analogue low-end pulsates rhythmically below. in wave 102 the bleeps are detuned and erratically timed, with a glitchy tape delay unit modulating them throughout the track. the saturated 808 kick drum and processed percussion are given a functional structure, allowing the bleeps to take centre stage. on the b-side, both cycle 01 and astronomy tool serve as stripped-back percussive dj tools. cycle 01 rolls along with its hollow, muted polyrhythmic stab line, whilst astronomy tool drives forward with an effective, crystalline synth hit. mastered by black monolith studios.

like any good techno producer, moscow electronic producer harry light envelops his stage image by a veil of mystery, preferring to communicate with his audience exclusively through the music. its more than enough in his case. harry lights music is artsy and ascetic. theres nothing superfluous and it sounds extremely good, the louder the better revealing its great potential. regarding harrys stylistic range, it extends from well recognized german techno and minimalistic deep house to dub and deep techno. it also can be easily read by the label names where harrys music being released. theres anton kubikovs iconic label pro-tez, highway records sub-label whats in the box and trendy young imprint electronica. important addition to this list will be a release on kiev vinyl label artreform. on this new release titled resistance harry light has managed to show all the best sides of his eclectic sound.

red laser returns with four tracks from ste spandex. if you ve heard any ste spandex productions you ll know what to expect ! this ep is a fascinating collision of diverse dance music aesthetics & bristles with energy and passion. as usual all the tracks are live takes with various hardware working overtime from ste s orchestration. side 1 features two tracks with long time collaborator sarah bates. soaking wet is a peak time workout with tightly sprung drums, whirling effects & sarah s vocals weaved enticingly throughout the track. next is breakin my heart, an addictive bubbler melding house and boogie feelings with the vocals more centre stage. side 2 kicks off with gotta move, an 80 sesque grinder. pumped bass rubs up against squelched keys and peaky synth riffs, while nice weather closes things down, a short and sweet movement of shuffling drums and swerving synth action.

polish resident lutto lento follows up his debut 12inch for charles drakefords ftd label with this 6 track ep whips for where to now? records. luttos sound places him as quite a unique figure in modern electronic music, showing a fearless work ethic in shrouding his productions in saturated tape loops, and achieving what is certainly a low-fi quality to his sound, lutto manages to never let this lo-fi edge take centre stage, instead this expertly crafted process of tape cutting and looping provides the backdrop to luttos exuberantly crafted yet absolutely dance floor orientated drum work.

portion control is a british electronic and industrial band from south london. the trio of john whybrew, ian sharp and dean piavani started out experimenting with electronics in 1980. linking up with in phaze records, they released a number of cassettes and records before signing with illuminated records in 1983. there followed a series of classic 12inch singles: raise the pulse, rough justice and go-talk, which have become underground dancefloor hits. the band classifies their music style as >hard rhythmic electronics< and were a major influence on skinny puppy, front line assembly and depeche mode.

harry klein records is back. the first contribution comes from giorgia angiuli. born and raised in the deep south of italy, giorgia is a classic example for a inimitable talent when it s about combining different styles of music. either playing live on stage or recording in the studio – her unconventional manner of reception and rendition, same on stylistic as on technical issues, allows her to create unique moments through her music. in this sense her forthcoming ep, named nebula , is a contribution to the multiple diversity which marks the electronic scene nowadays more than ever. it s taking us on a journey through the facets of heart-warming house, straightforward techno, and the fields of intense and dreamy pop, always reminding us of what s really essential in music.

cristian vogel is a long-term innovator in the composition, mixing and performance of electronic music. spanning over two decades at the vanguard of european electronic music, his work has been acknowledged as an outstanding influence in the fields of composition for stage, club culture and studio. this is the first vinyl release of material from the archive remasters project. the project was successfully crowd-funded in december 2014 which enabled the establishment of edition cristian vogel, an edition handling the restoration and remastering of a large part of cristian vogels hard-to-find and unreleased productions dating back to the early 90s. the 1994 ep features a beefed-up remastering of the classic time originally released on his 1995 album absolute time on tresor. you will also find a rare proto-minimal track from the vinyl only artist in charge of expert systems ep originally released on mosquito records. scorpio and alien conversation are taken from his debut album originally released on mille plateaux in 1994. all tracks were remastered and cut from original dat tapes in february 2015 by manmademastering

classic arthur russell 7 inch from the depths of west ends vaults. timely remastered from the original tapes. this is a different version to the honest jons 12 inch released in 2003 with more moog bleeps and a slower tempo and has never been commercially available on vinyl (track run time 2:45). it also includes the uptempo freakout rare as hens teeth instrumental mix. original 7 inches going for up to £200 on discogs and only 12 people in the world showing they own a copy. this release never got passed promo stage at west end in 1980.

another famous producer transferred himself to a dystopian character to define his impression of electronic music. science-fiction sounds meets eclipses and melancholic souls, all under the umbrella of isaac asimovs ideas and visions. 2015 has landed.

we are deeply proud of all our music here at hizou. our latest release, however, we believe is just that little bit special. because we welcome to the label a producer we much admire and also proudly call our friend, w & p hgg aka hugo giner, owner of the formidable cornuta sound imprint. and his ep, down for heaven, is notable also for marking the debut of a new partnership, the sons of empire, otherwise known as those two masters of the deep, ernie from minuendo recordings and dubbyman of deep explorer. it is giner’s unique soul, however, that takes centre stage with side one devoted entirely to its 13 minutes of glorious, irresistible and uplifting house odyssey. on the reverse comes welcome, a chunkier though equally hypnotic slab of sly deepness, ably supported by the sons of empire remix which takes the track to a more chilled and, dare we say, funkier celestial plane.

jonny nash returns to melody as truth following his - phantom actors- ep. -exit strategies- puts nash s layered guitar textures at centre stage, further demonstrating his ability to draw emotion from the simplest of elements. a glimmering mini lp of lush and spacious compositions, surrounded by nash s own unique air and atmospheric touch. beautiful, tip!

sometimes it takes a little longer until things happen. talking the conjunctional studio joint of martin landsky and marco resmann entitled lava, now released under their collaborational project landsky & resmann, this single is one that has been overdue for quite a while and for a reason. a reason and shared history that essentially helped to shape and add momentum to marco resmanns career at an early stage a good 13 years ago when he wasnt even known under his real name but used the artistic alias phage dj- and production-wise.

today gregor returns home with two slamming new tracks, both of which are the result of hours of tweaking and testing whilst on the road this summer. midas is built around a stripped back single-riff groove. minimal elements and maximum effect show that gregor still has that midas touch. on the flip and easily living up to its name is disturber. its snarling synth takes centre stage, intimidating and unsettling. but as the kick drum thumps and the intensity builds, disturber suddenly returns to the dark shadows.

growing up in metro-detroit, and having recently played on the made in detroit stage at this years movement festival, you would have a fair idea of what to expect from appian. indeed, the influence of the motor citys signature sound on much of the burgeoning talents output is unmistakable. yet appians forthcoming release *chatter ep* on fina records is a testament to his varied and experimental production style, a distinctive sound borne out of inspirations as varied as funk, experimental electronica, disco, 80s stuff, early house, and aphex twin

chris “bam bam” westbrook is one of the unsung heroes of chicago house. his westbrook label was responsible for releasing a slew of quality records from artists like armando & mike dunn as well as his own productions. one record that mysteriously never officially came out on the label was “hot spot” from 1987, never making it past white label stage. here, for the very first time, “hot spot” finally gets a full release boasting all 4 alternate mixes of the track by the man himself. suggestive lyrics, chattering drum machine rhythms and uplifting pianos in the classic raw chicago style are what makes “hot spot” a special re-issue. harking back to a headier time, the record still slams hard today and shows contemporary producers how house music should really be done. a long lost, un-released nugget from the old school, re-mastered from the original dat and officially released for the first time with original westbrook label artwork in conjunction with bam bam / westbrook records, chicago usa.

r002 sees a long-time jaunt favourite deepa & biri, take centre stage. the israeli duo have long been considered expert producers by those in the know, with releases on the likes of gigilo, transmat and their own black crow imprint very much indicative of the fact. the basement cuts ep, meanwhile, goes some way to solidifying this fledgling reputation. full of psychoactive tendencies and brimming with otherworldly sounds, the title track sees the pair delve deep, as they summon up a cut thats notable for its obsessive eye for detail and an unfurling array of captivating sounds.
