la dame noir is one of marseille s most reliable outposts for serious disco-flavoured grooves both in the club and as a label, and now they make the leap to vinyl with a crucial collection of remixes from serious heads. pete herbert steps up first to rework m.u.s.i.q.u.e s -over to you-, turning the original into a simmering, noirish burner with speak and spell vox in the foreground. meanwhile herbert s take on nouveau rom s -timide comme un ange- is a looped-up dream of a groove that positively takes off when the peak section kicks in. dj steef then echoes the remix choices on the b-side, subtly edging the nouveau rom track into an even airier version before creating an emotional twist on -over to you-.
OUT OF HERE (ROMAN FLUGEL AND SIMON HAYDO REMIXES)
12 Inch 25.08.16
benedikt frey s arresting out of here was the second entry of our blanc series. originally a vinyl-only limited release, now the track gets a fresh new treatment in the hands of two mainstays of european techno: roman flugel and simon haydo. flugel s cosmic disco drama rework lives up to its name, maintaining the noir disco spirit of the original track but infusing it with tension-building sequences and strings that give it an extra mischievous twist. our favorite frankfurter also straightens the rhythmic skeleton and adds shuffling shakers to make it a relentless dancefloor weapon. haydo s remix delves into a more dismal terrain, transforming the vocals into haunted echoes, adding esoteric synths and topping it all with razor-sharp percussion in what sounds like a storm of ice asteroids falling into a lake of steel. the 12inch comes in a beautiful sleeve featuring an exclusive illustration by barcelona-based artist pau lopez and design by arnau pi.
2016 repress incoming!
jay lumen needs no introduction as he has been important to the tech and techno scene for years now. after several releases on labels like drumcode, octopus, relief, suara, off etc. we are happy to have him back on noir music with this fantastic tech stomper our freedom that has a little bit of everything. the remixes comes from la fleur and traumer. both are among our favorite producers at the moment and we are happy to write that both did an excellent remix job making sure we got fantastic alternative versions here.
following a brief stint in italy with hesperius draco, frigio records is on the road again, this time crossing the adriatic to hook up with le chocolat noir. the croatian artist, known for disco panonia and his work as honored matres, is no stranger to frigio, having featured on all stars vol 1 in 2014. -transform ep- is introduced by the industrial mental sounds of -greedy pets- and followed by a new name to the roster as june delivers his interpretation of it.
we have become big fans of paul ursin at the noir music headquarter as he just keeps creating fantastic music from his studio in sicily. he gained lots of heavyweight dj support from his ep on nm2 in may and we expect him to take you by storm with this (his first) release on noir music. if mr. ursin is not already on your radar let this “sinthesis vol.1” convince you. no more words ... let the music speak for itself.
hot on the heels of “the reason”, released earlier in april, mimi music continues to impress with the death no more ep from label head komplexx. he teams up with former booker of extrema and present-day photographer peter van hal. the original version of “death no more” defies genre boundaries with ease. fusing old school progressive stylings, well placed percussion, an epic choral vocal with a catchy main hook and a rubbery bass line, komplexx has unleashed a summer anthem for the discerning dance-floor worldwide. the remix comes from well respected german artist marcus sur. a producer in his own right, signed to noir music, trapez, highgrade, four:twenty records and many more, sur created a darker more hypnotic journey focusing on the percussive aspects of the original. and komplexx’s v.i.p. mixx heads off into housey techno waters from the start. deeper, more percussive and driving, the v.i.p. mixx keeps the central melody intact while creating a darker feel. this has mass crossover appeal written all over it.
already three years after his third album, vitalic is back on jennifer cardini’s records label correspondant records with two original new tracks. often unclassifiable, but always efficient, vitalic shouts out and restyles his universe under many different ways. after having mixed electro music to rock, to disco and then to pop in the course of his three albums, « film noir » ep invites us to a spatial journey. unusual, unknow, fascinating, powerfull and sometimes dark , this project defines itself as a cold disco. his own and recognizable esthetic shows here two of his multiple faces : ‚film noir’ will remind absorbing universe of german sound of 90’s : a techno and slow kick, a spatial slicks and a worrying mental melody. ‚ooey’, a sort of hallucinated electro pop joined by some chorists, without forgetting lady disco despite of its new wave bass.
these 2 guys dont need an introduction as they have earned their respect in the underground over years of quality music. what needs a proper shout is the fact that they now teamed up for this amazing 2-tracker and we are honored to release this on noir music. early support by maceo plex and adam beyer has already made some buzz in club-land for this anticipated release and here s your chance to get onboard too.
marc romboy is back on tronic, and we have two remixes of his classic the overture. for remix duties we enlisted techno originator and legend joey beltram, as well as frances deep house genius rodriguez jr. the outcome is as expected. mr beltram changes the original to a peak time slice of moody techno, whereas rodriguez jr. goes the more melodic route using a beautiful arpeggio. we are very happy with this release and hope you will be as well! dj support: adam beyer christian smith james zabiela sasha edu imbernon technasia noir joel mull nicole moudaber pig & dan (igor) danny tenaglia thomas schumacher (get physical / noir / snatch!) dosem filterheadz hernan cattaneo
noir music is back with a fresh artwork update and fresh music after heavy flirting with saved, get physical, nm2, knee deep in sound and material, noir now returns to his homebase with this stomping obscurité release.
japan: the land of the rising sun and one of the worlds biggest havens for creative, forward-thinking musical freedom. masters of a infinite number of stripped down, funk infused brands of electronic music, the japanese crews of music makers are usually teams of noble perfectionists. consistently shining a bright guiding light on the japanese scene, radiq (aka yoshihiro hanno) remains one of japans best exports and the reflection of what it means to be a true musician while managing his own japan-talent-only imprint op.disc with wit and will.
hedonism is an ethical theory that pleasure, in a sense of satisfaction of desires, is the highest good and proper aim of human life, and this seems to also be hdnsm’s ultimate musical objective. their first release debuted as a kickstarter of “variant ep” v.a. series, showcasing three very different yet highly contemplative creations from cumsecade, anestie gomez and man spider. hdnsm flips the coin and for the second episode of “variant” series it lands on two very solid, incredibly moody and extensive works from fresh talents shcaa and cleymoore. the ep features two very different tracks yet they share the same minimalistic core. both works are blessed with intricate micro-drum arrangements for those feeling groove hungry whilst still standing tall in the experimental abstract realm pleasing those who crave unusual frequencies. a-side’s “masquée” is one of shcaa’s typical rides between sound and silence and it is hard to find another artist who understands sound gaps between grooves better than shcaa does. with his signature vocals and an incredibly delicious duality between acoustic instrumentalism and electronic slamming, this is a groovy, highly deep, very intelligently arranged piece. the flip-side “nebula”, signed by pluie/noir’s boss cleymoore, is a tip of an iceberg when it comes to the art of stripping down. in an apparently thin canvas of minimal drum arrangements there’s a vast amount of sound frequencies underneath a steady ever-kicking groove, tricking your mind into thinking that you’re hearing less than you actually perceive. nebula is hypnotic and dense but focused and sophisticatedly groovy. like the repetitive vocals you’ll hear throughout the b-side, this v.a. sticks to your mind like an addiction of some sort and pushes hdnsm to a new standard of avant-garde and forward-thinking attitude. as before, this vinyl only release comes in a gorgeous cover featuring a painting from max binski and the number of copies available is limited
SINISTER (YELLOW TRANSPARENT 10 INCH / VINYL ONLY)
10 Inch 21.09.15
volkan akı,n is a fresh name in the scene that already buzzed some radars worldwide and succeeded in impressing and released his music in well established imprints like sammy dee’s ultrastrech where he had his brilliant debut with a villalobos remix. with “sinister” he skims away from his usual stripped down minimalistic grooves and presents us two tracks of lush, intimate works of deep textures, analog machine love-making noises and intricate drum arrangements with very personal tones. and while the a side “sinister” keeps us on edge with a virtually consistent momentum of suspense and a very conveniently sinister mood, the flipside “atest” takes us on a ride between the high skies and the deep seas, on a seamlessly neverending loop of peaceful pads and very addicting dreamy tones. this very special limited release comes in a unusual but deliciously collectible transparent yellow 10” vinyl with a remarkable and equally sinister painting by new york-based artist emily marchesiello, art director and co-founder of the galerie project. she specializes in fantasy animal portraiture art, via ink, water color and oil paint. project london

that man is sabb, a tech house producer from kosovo who has eight plus years of experience of turning out infectious club tracks. he has done so on labels like noir and saved, and here serves up a great single that comes with remixes by dennis ferrer and detlef.
fumiya tanaka s double-tracker >beautiful town< was fully inspired by its cover artwork: a set of carefully selected old pictures with a layer of masterful signature paintings by romanian artist and fine-arts student bonjour bonsoir. a-sides >abacus avenue< is the ep’s most dense and eerie side. an addictive piece that utterly succeeds in sucking you right in like a vortex would. the locomotive bassline serves its purpose of movement in a strong loopy groove, while the pads and poltergeist y sounds reformat our heads with an inability for space-time tracking. the otherside of this town, >himegami marathon<, is another mysteriously intricate work. its a microcosm of grooves, sinister details and voices locked in a tight groove built on a single bass stab and a flowing, never-ending set of wet claps. a piano kicks in at key points, alongside percussive elements, reminding us that this town is alive.
this is simply a beautiful song and amazing collaboration between eagles & butterflies (innervisions, get physical) and super talented singer/songwriter j.u.d.g.e. its one of those rare standout tracks you might come to love and treasure for the rest of your life. no more words necessary, hit play and let the music do the talking.
black vinyl edition ... beat a track that already is a hit? nearly impossible ? but not for noir music. they just took superfunk s lucky star and dropped it into a damn hot new edition for 2012. thanks again to solomun (diynamic, supernature) for another brilliant remix work. kolombo takes it back to the oldschool days with a deep work and a real 303 acid edit. overall a superb must-have package.
around, a sexy, synthesizer-tinted groove featuring vocalist hayze dominated dancefloors across the world for close to two years, making noir a household name across clubland. and its still as popular as ever – the solomon vox remix of around has amassed more than 12 million views on youtube. as well as around, noir includes further club hits around feat. hayze, my fault feat. hrrsn and current single black feat. caitlin, evidencing noirs desire to work with a variety of vocalists to create something far 7 weightier than simply a collection of club tracks.
noir music is touching another classic to be refreshed for 2012. the track by hollis p monroe is a real alltime house hit originally released on stickman in 1997. newest vibes are added by subb-an (crosstown rebels, saved), larse (known for his hits >the more i want< and >so long<), laura jones (leftroom, visionquest) and sis (cecille, get physical) who just turned it into a 12 minutes techno monster

op.discs highly acclaimed 2013 double pack from radiq aka yoshihiro hanno receives some heavy reworking from three of his label mates, fumiya tanaka, akiko kiyama and aoki takamasa. fumiya tanakas reinterpretation provides an extensive, deep down edition of vida noir and renders the original beats into a minimal bass behemoth of a track that clocks in at almost ten minutes. akiko kiyama shows her peerless talent in her revision of rondo. the beats and pieces are sticking like glue each other to render exotic and mesmerizing aspect of radiqs original. aoki takamasa shows his further involvement into minimalism on his version of calling, channels a micro-house groove into a multilayered beast.
2022 repress! those lovely chords, that growling bassline combined with nancy sinatra-esque vocals and one big tease and build. thats what makes this track a true stand-out and sound like nothing else in club-land right now.

pulsing, soulful house music from matthias wagner on the newly-founded noir et son imprint. skittering jams with a hint of jazz and left-field to keep things that little bit off-kilter. a proper bomb!
the fourth instalment of local talks series crosses all genres of house and have been delivered by producers from sweden, argentina, germany and finland. its a wide and complete mix of deep and thumping 4/4s. the opening track from combo loops a killer stevie sample over some mid-tempo electronic house beats…its pure shuga! tim vita, oliver gehrmann and xavier hirsch does a similar thing using a big voiced motown legend together with dark but jazzy house rhythms. < finnish house legend sasse (mood music) delivers a classic deep but electronic jam that definitely sets a deep mode. we finish off with a classic us garage track from argentinian producer tom noir, a real club filler with some serious breakdowns.
the package comes with a raw club cut aimed for the tech house floors, a james welsh (hypercolour, join the dots) remix for the uk beats and bass approach and a deeper 303 led techno journey done by german patrick chardronnet (connaisseur, poker flat).
ltd to 300 copies , vinyl only
their first >noiretson<-release >dewdropper< is a triple-treat of jazzed-up deep house. shine box dwells on classy fifty and sixty jazz aesthetics in gesture and attitude. the dewdrops they showcase bear the stripped-down touch of minor piano-chords and syncopated swing patterns all over the place.
since day one, radiq has been showing an affinity for the afro-centric funkiness and carefully-honed sound design of modern days minimal music. as in many of his previous tracks, all six songs of >vida noir< has this certain kind of unyielding quality - long, hypnotic grooves with muted kick drum set the stage for more emancipated experiments in texture and sound design. on >a long hot summer break<, for example, the effect is utterly obvious as kicking its ass into gear with syncopated drums and strain of warm chords before animated vocal sample slips in like fingerprint. while deeply seductive interplay of those chugging percussion gives way to delighted horn of >a-dieu<, warm chord and acoustic guitar of >calling< is perfect example for radiq’s masterful sound and texture. >machine codes modified< has rather restrained structure for him, but tightly woven drums speaks eloquently about its carefully arranged funkiness and dance floor functionality. despite their repetitiveness, its surprising how well these productions forming cohesive solidarity as an album. presumably, it owes a lot to wide tonal vocabulary which is radiqs hallmark - these tracks has something concentrated, vivid qualities. this album sits just at the edge of the dance floor, but also performs its exceptional strength on intense home listening. dusky synth and truncated surge of bass of >vida noir< constructing something dark, before closing this album with modulated afro-acoustic guitar and deep falsetto voice (by the producer himself) of >rondo<. this album offers up an engaging and comprehensive amalgamation from the inquisitive sound by the maestro
another top notch exclusive eyepatch vinyl which will be a must for those deeper sets. >yellow edge< is a three track debut release on eyepatch for japanese dj and house music producer yusuke yamamoto. he runs his own label vacances records and has seen releases on many other labels including oasi lab, houseworx, city life, ibiza house hotspot and more. his tracks are supported by a lot of big djs including luciano, claude vonstroke, d julz, anthony collins and moodymanc to name a few. he brings a fresh approach to house and this is manifested within this superb pack and we love the sound so much we will also be releasing this onto good old 12inch vinyl which will be a welcome addition to any dj s box.
