following his prized joker rework, his inclusion on the hefty fabric-curated >elevator music< comp, his dope 7 inch for the all city crew, and corridor ep on plasticians terrorhythm imprint - not to mention a slew of remixes - om unit joins the civil music stable alongside starkey, reso, debruit, drums of death and darling farah. and yet again we see him pushing his sonic manifesto ever further. with years of working intently at the nexus of instrumental beats and electronic music, its time for the timps ep. the timps is real electro. faceless, percussive, underground with a sci-fi feel. dark, futuristic and dancefloor-oriented, punctuated with elements of 80s detroit techno.
deep house imprint ornate reaches its landmark 10th release with yse (pronounced *easy* in case you were wondering), a man who in his own words >enjoys nicely syncopated rhythms, heavy melodies, outgoing quirkiness and a quality glass full of cheap brandy and coke - hold the ice<, all of which - bar the cheap brandy and coke - are in full effect on this frankly awesome drawn at dawn ep.

persnickety sounds is here to funk-ti-fy your world! in this era of nü-disco, space disco, cosmic disco, disco house and shit, there must be a beacon of quality to light the way and lead the faithful back to a place where good grooves matter and realness is holding court. let the labels fall and just get it movin. re-edited with the dancefloor in mind and your boogie in its sights, ps 1002 is another double portion of sonic goodness with a side of alright! after the >sisters are doin it< first time round its now time for the >brothers stay doin it!< now what say you good people?
fresh beats delivered directly from the caribbean by venezuelan producer trujillo on his latest appearance on the spanish-venezuelan label apersonal music. trujillos ability to make you feel caught up in an eternal summer vibe gets clearer and stronger with every track he releases. on this release main single >fruit punch< is simplicity at its best, squeezing the most out of basic classic-house elements. it builds up slowly until the original guitar tunes in, thats when you take a sip of your fruit punch (or whatever sweet drink comes handy) and enjoy the sea breeze in your face (whether its there or not..). for the extra flavor on your drink they pour an edit-format track >looking up through you<. lots of original ingredients here enough to make this edit an own piece of music... venezuelan keyboard player mister casanova on board plus trujillo mixing it all up in his best poolside bar style. fresh juicy punched stuff here! on the remix department 2 remix versions from uk based producer toby tobias plus a classy fashioned remix from canadian eddie c. tobias is a hard working man, and when you ask him for one he hits you twice, hard to pick one remix although one had to be selected for digital only release (size matters some time!). what can we say about eddie c.. apersonal had already made a statement that they love classic grooves, and it cant get classier than eddies beats on his remix! this groove is what house music is all about, and it will always be.
great new v/a ep feat. gabe (sk supreme, sprout) mucky pups (saved) – the new project from m.in & jonas – franksen & tom wax (bigcitybeats, plastic city) and alex piccini (bitten, malatoid, weplayminimal).

oh cristo! label comes back with memoryman/ltj, heavy one.
memoryman - aint no big edit: great percussive elements bring this track to life! short stabs of echoey synth carefully placed throughout add to the atmosphere, the track builds and builds. there is a strong house/techno feel but the slow tempo ensures it grooves, a big track! and lovely vocals with the deep bass work really well!
side b: ltj - all night: hypnotic loop carries the track, slow bass grooves and the vocal is perfect! a dancefloor gem! would be a great secret for any djs bag!
steve tang & m dreams are on a roll, with wax dropping hot & thick, on steel. tang represents a retro-futurist vision of post-acid chicago house, all made with vintage tech & dripping with machine soul.

mitzi are a 4 piece of awesomeness made up of dominiqe bird, jad lee, charlie murdoch and cale suesskow. they all hail from australias most laidback and sunny city brisbane. some people call it brisvegas because its sexy too. after playing in various killer bands such as bmx (2009 unearthed parklife winners), comic sans (2010 unearthed st jeromes laneway festival winners), charlie why! (recent bang gang 12 inches signing) and the gallery kiss all the dudes have united to create some genuinely exciting australian music. the three tunes on >all i heard< fuse the sounds of garage disco, nyc indie and the light heartedness of australian pop. jono ma (lost valentinos, tracy thorn, teenagers in tokyo) mixed the record at ewan pearsons studio in berlin and made all those trumpets, snares, keys, whispers and vocals sound ridiculously tight. future classics history has always been rooted in bands and were pretty stocked to be getting back into it. plus its our 50th release!
2010 has been a very intense year for tiefschwarz! having released their new album chocolate on their own label imprint souvenir in may, they played a heavy schedule of dj and live gigs all over the world and released >more chocolate< and >melted chocolate<: a fine series of productions and remixes inspired by the original album release. >melted chocolate 3< completes the series and brings the “chocolate year 2010< to a beautiful ending with remixes by: reboot, bruno pronsato and marcus meinhardt
>tried for your love< is the eagerly awaited debut solo ep from contemporary boogie producer krystal klear. this release gives light to the largest body of work to date from the hotly tipped artist, and does not disappoint! sample free, the ep is composed of completely original material, and is a modern take on the new jack swing / boogie.
nile delta is dancefloor wizard joel dickson, former member of riot in belgium and current member of cutters dynamic-duo, voltage. having spent the past year neck-deep in other peoples music – it was only a matter of time before this, nile deltas debut ep emerged, shimmering, from the water. channel sounds like a late 70s house party. except the house is actually a warehouse and the late 70s are actually the early 90s. an almost paradoxical blend of filtered piano stabs, party whistles, endless delays, a squelching acid lead, horns, bendy-breakdowns, you name it. channel sounds like moodymann at his rawkus best. no party will be complete without this house gem. all this on the flip, sees cut copy bassist ben browning provide an otherworldly vocal hook over nile deltas inescapable rhythm. and the crawling baseline will have your hips doing obscene things. guaranteed. remixes include longtime favourites chicken lips, who take their invincible track record on an italian holiday – and tornado wallace who takes us deep, deep into the night.
with the >debut remix album< alfred heinrichs scored on subdub in all charts through the ceiling. now he puts on mimique the >all about me e.p.< after 2 great songs in the distinctive style of heinrich. as known from alfred, fits his sound is not in a drawer. the galloping bass, the hot breaks and vocal snippets push the two songs at the heart of heinrichs night. rounding out the e.p. is the philip bader remix of >all about me<. this comes with a brash, cocky driving house beat around the corner.
4 track white label with little or no info. on the more experimental side. sheet reads >all tracks produced by urban tribe with additional production by kemetrix<. limited pressing will sell out fast
best release yet on toyfriend with spiros kaloumenos delivering a huge dancefloor beast that is sure to rock the floor, if that wasnt good enough we have heavyweight remix action from no less than tom hades and a paul!! all this on one orecord, it doesnt get any better than this!
hotel motel is the brand new dance music project from bill brewster of dj history/low life fame and alex tepper. heavily soaked in old school vibes, while plugged right into contemporary developments in the underground house music scene, hotel motel make excellent home tapers! for their first release on the imprint they work an absolutely killer house groove around a raw old school sample to produce the totally wicked >eye no<. this cut has classic grooves written all over it. simple, but 100% effective. it defines exactly what home taping is all about. on the flip, the burnt island casuals (aka the revenge and legendary sub club resident dj harri) throw all of their joint experience and love of house music at the original, bounce it off the studio walls and rework it into a warehouse bomb that will have you licking the walls for more. 100% house music with bits. play it all night long!!
the green door studio opened its (confusingly black) doors to glasgows vibrant music community at the end of 2007. set up by three glasgow-based musicians emily maclaren (michael dracula/the lady vanishes), sam smith (mother & the addicts) and jamie greer (park attack), who, sick of using other peoples clinical digital studios and being told by engineers >you cant do that..<, decided to create a musician-friendly space where >actually you can...<.
