mobilee back to back vol. 3, compiled by miss jools, is inching its way to the release date but before then, active listeners can turn ears to the second exclusive vinyl teaser release with remixes from d julz and christian burkhardt. djulz of ovum, pokerflat and intacto records remixed gummihzs 2007 one-of-kind release and turned it into nothing short of a dance floor phenomenon. of course, nothing less could be expected from a man who has been around the world and back since 1992 playing in the most legendary clubs before the most legendary scensters. d julz certainly has the qualification and experience of what it takes to make a party a paaarty! christian burkhardt of oslo, raum…musik and remote area records took one of anjaschneiders more mellow and somber tunes from her spooky beyond the valley album, which ranked third in the charts of groove magazine, and give it a powerful face lift. the hard baseline and repetitive foot-stomping beat is exactly the kind of techno flair that burkhardt embodies in his music. mobilee back to back vol. 3, to be released march 2, 2009, combines a compilation of tracks and remixes produced by mobilees, remixed by other various artists and then mixed again by miss jools in a two-disc spectacular: cd1 is an unmixed selection of 2008 mobilee tracks, all handpicked by miss jools, while cd2 welcomes a list of her favorite producers to remix their picks of the mobilee pack with an additional miss jools spin. miss jools invited talents from the likes of cassy, tobias., nick curly, dinky, djulz, efdemin, christian burkhardt, vincenzo, sven tasnadi and solomun, extending the musical preference.

lets remixer speak! >it was great to be asked to do this. originally, i wanted to do something really quirky and funky with the strange vocal in human bond, one of my favorite old tracks. i tried a few times but i couldnt really get a vibe going in the funk realm. so i listened to the original over and over again and then the lightbulb turned on. i realized that the original was a monster rave track, like what you would hear in a warehouse in detroit in the 90s. so i threw out my original idea and went crazy with a huge techno builder, something to hype a big rave just like the original. maybe this doesnt sound exactly like what i usually do but that was the fun of making it< claude vonstroke. aa: >bounce your body to the box was one of the first kms records that i owned and it was all about the mike >hitman< wilson mix and force field on the b side. the production on the original was huge. the 909 groove just pounded everything... when that came out there was nothing that came close to it. so it was an honor and a challenge to mix it myself. first came the futurist bounce mix... not released on vinyl, anmerkung, ... which is more of a cover version than a remix. i had a lot of fun with this one but it definitely has a signature that steps away from the original. so i had to take a run at it one more time to pay a proper homage to the original with the flashback mix< mike shannon...

electric arguments is the first fireman album in 10 years, and this song based album couldnt be more different than its predecessors. for those who dont know by now, the fireman is a collaborative project between music icon paul mccartney and revered producer youth. the pair first worked together in the 90s when they made two ambient dance albums. originally the firemans identity was anonymous and was eventually revealed by the press as being paul and youth. in september it was announced that the fireman would this year release their first brand new material in a decade and this time there was a big difference - the duo had found their voice. speculation began, one studio insider was reported as saying the new songs sounds like arcade fire meets led zeppelin. certainly so far, anyone who has already heard the album has commented on just how accessible electric arguments is, compared to the first two fireman albums. this album is an eclectic and diverse collection of songs that show paul is still interested in pure musical possibilities. each track was written and recorded in the space of one day. the fireman went into the studio with no plan or clear direction of how they wanted the album to sound. the project took a life of its own and the results will surprise anyone expecting to hear the previous sound of the band.

its been a while since the last release by mark august on connaisseur, but now hes back with an extraordinary one. two tracks, both like a fairytale of a country far, far away. a fable, with mystic and mysterious animals and creatures, might best describe what mark had in mind while working on the tracks. the wasps from tunisia and the silver piggy – the main track on this release is an uncommon piece of music. it starts moody and with a stoic pumping beat, yet also a somehow laidback feeling. it then unexpectedly and surprisingly builds up to a monster of a track, working manically towards its climax. then however, over the length of the track, it completely transforms again, coming back to its beginning, as though nothing had ever happened. scorpions groove is a deep and dubby affaire.

like many of us over here at bear towers, giorgio sancristoforo aka tobor disco experience has an unhealthy interest in the 1970s - the instruments of bob moog, vocoders, alan parsons - the cult sci fi series space 1999 - and here hes used the decade as a sonic palette to create the kind of ep that gets the whole office (ie: both of us, on pcs at home, occasionally) sitting up and listening. opener disco moog has already been used on our rools for rules compilation earlier this year and had many beards twitching at the prospect of forthcoming vinyl. shooting star is a more uptempo affair with blissful chords, slap bass, disco handclaps and gios trademark vocoder. i feel loved is a personal favourite of stevie kotey with anthem written all over it. this awesome clavinet workout has such a good vibe about it you cant help feeling nothing but loved. it could easy be mistaken for alan hawkshaw super rare bruton library track.

supported by alex attias (planet e), italoboyz, karotte, sebo k, raresh, d julz, funk d void. michael melchner is barely at the beginning of his twenties. at the moment deep house of the late nineties has to take a shine to him. in the detail it gets clear, that this is not only a copy of an epoch, but a certain vibe, which is going to be transferred into the present. this vibe with his warm sound, the well dosed house beats and a strong musical sense is hearable, but this sounds by no means antiquated. on a-side several instruments like percussions, xylophone and samples of an mexican trumpet make sure that there isn’t only an exiting variety shortly before or after the primetime, but also a proper portion of itchy feet. with the both tracks on the flip-side the whole spectrum of michael melchner becomes clear, at the one hand a clear view on the dance floor with classical house beats and on the other hand a musical character, which one misses in many current productions. >chen chen< is slightly more co plicated and more rhythmic whilst >nothing happened< is a pleasing leaned back dramaturgical subtle house piece with a distinctive bass line and interspersed voice samples.

first single to be lifted from the forthcoming lp is a flawless representation of some of the freakishly danceable tracks contained therein. a wholly original mashup of electronics, my heart rate rapid is sheer falsetto laden, drum battering brilliance. although metronomys elliptical, insidious, multi coloured art pop sounds nothing like colognes legendary purveyors of prog disco, can do offer clues to the lineage the band belong to. add early brian eno, sparks, devo, talking heads, soft cell, and then scratch your head for more recent examples of abstract music, full of experiment, risk, and individuality that somehow resolves itself into pop that makes you sing and dance and feel like a big kid and you realise that you cant think of any, because metronomy are, in the current pop milieu, an utterly unique proposition.

although berlin based dj woody has long been a member of the gigolo crew, having the honor to play at some legendary gigolo nights, this is woodys first solo release for gigolo. and what a fine entry onto the gigolo-scene it is: sure to get people in the know talking... and dancing! woody is the original sonic funkateer whose life is completely focussed on music and his very own definition of funk. hes a genuine kind of a guy, needing nothing more than two turntables, a mixer and an audience to know hes alive. for him djing and making music is not just a job, its his destiny. just one listen to a track like august and you know how much painstaking attention to detail, and love, has been poured into the production of these tracks. august is a cerebral sounding track that will lift you to another level. a version of august is featured on the double cd 10 years anniversary compilation gigolos cd 10 (gigolo210) selected by gigolo boss hell. booty bar is another pumping and raunchy tune thats guaranteed to get that ass shakin. its and slammin beats and funky, almost jazzy, synths licks plus the sexy vocal samples gives this number a succinctly gigolo feel to it. with songs like this, its no wonder that woody is one of the most respected german djs on the international scene

on the remix duty probably the two biggest names in electronic music at the moment: danny freakazoid and klaas! the original mixes go out a bit more housy with lovely breaks and catchy vocals that increase into a rocking synth theme. the klaas remix features big guitar breaks including the original vocals and the typical huge and boombastic klaas synths. danny freakazoid as the master of intelligent electro delivers two excellent remixes in full freakazoid effect. nothing more to say - this is a bomb!

felix dickinson and toby tobias team up to great effect under the name of the mythical beasts on the newie from hector works. low slung funk bass and disco claps and synths make the original a sleazy discoid workout par excellence and as if that wasnt enough both q burns abstract message and nick chacona & anthony mansfield are on the mixes too. q burns mix is nothing to write home about in truth but chacona and chum do good things on their take, upping the tempo and aiming it squarely at the floor. hot!

igor tchkotoua and dan duncan are true workaholics. not only are the two mallorquinos forming one of the most exciting techno duos of our time and play in the most famous clubs worldwide, they always make it to pop up in the studio to work on their releases on sonic society, wig records or like in the case of >deliverance<, the new 12inch on cocoon. >deliverance< starts quite cautious but the track becomes more and more complex – pig & dan give the dj a tool that fits the minimal raver like a custom-made suit. the b side is again one of those tracks that put a smile on your face. in >sly detector<, atmospheric techno sound unites with energetic celebration pleasure, just as we know it from tracks like >after ibiza< or >on to the beat<. the rolling hookline which has the necessary splash of acid is, together with the floating trance layer, adrenalising to such extent that nothing else remains to be done but to raise your hands in the air. the track was already a hit with many djs in 2007, and will be one – chosen in the right moment – on many dancefloors in 2008, too
