disconet was created as subscription program service, which professionally selected and mixed disco music for discotheque djs, mobile discos and radio stations. disconet is called as the granddaddy of all remix services and provided mixed/segued dj dance sets, not only to make the djs job a little bit easier, but to expose club goers to new music. the djs spinning at the height of the disco era were given access to a new creative tool - a different interpretation of current dance tunes to wow club goers. originally, the disconet records were to be issued on a monthly basis which were limited to 1000 - 1500 copies of each volume. the first disconet record was released in october 1977. disconet team at that time was: tom savarese, bobby dj guttadaro and kevin guilmet as well as mike wilkinson. tom, bobby and kevin were dj legends, who had already been awarded with the dj of the year title by billboard. these greatest hits volumes contain their finest work, the original licensed disco edits of all the floor fillers of the time that have been re issued for your listening pleasure. expect many more volumes in the near future.

disco devil number 8 sees the return of the man from vienna, mikeburns, sporting 2 more twisted disco edits of the very special kind. galaktattakk on the a side, as the title already suggests is an explosive funky space disco monster, laden with heavy bass, far out synth sounds and an ethereal choir that literally besieges any dance floor. the cheerful and more esoteric theme of the b side track, earth blues disco meditation, makes it feel like the long awaited return home to this blue planet of ours, after an extensive cosmic journey.

big star arkus p on mario rainieris hard techno imprint. epic breakbeats start the a1 track with a lucious string and uplifting vocals. the beat drops and the crowd is going crazy! follow up on the a side with a dirty grimey hard techno monster with a huge breakdown and noise! the flip starts of with a monster of a kick and filled with all kinds of nasty edits. this is defenitely the hardest track on the ep. second track on the ep is marios own version of hot space. funky beats and a weird vibe that will appeal to the jumping crowd!

channel 83 is the new label and production project from ben rymer (gucci soundsystem) and damon martin (disco bloodbath). releasing both edits and original material, the label will focus on a broad range of styles, reflecting the diverse and eclectic tastes of the labels founders. this commitment to diversity is demonstrated on channel 83s first release, tonite/acid crunch. the a side is a slice of euphoric nyc vocal disco that wouldnt have sounded out of place being played at the saint in 1980. originally coming in at under 4 minutes the track has been given a longer more dance floor friendly mix. this track is already gaining attention following its inclusion on disco bloodbaths resident advisor pod cast and is proving popular with the likes of pat mahoney (lcd soundsystem) and mark e. on the flip, acid crunch is a classic late 80s chicago house tune given a modern reboot by the duo.

juan sanchez, the amsterdam based producer with spanish background, makes his wolfskuil debut with an impressive 2 track single. the freakshow ep is an examplary showcase of what juan is capable of. two peaktime tracks, but both with different angles. the title track delivers exactly what you expect from a song with that particular title. freaky, out of control basslines and over the top rhythmic exersises, with loads of subtle hints, clever programming and detailed edits form the freaked out basis for juans vocals. no 4 bars are the same, but the track is coherent from beginning untill the end. prepare to rip up floors with this one!23 positions shows a different side of juan. its carrying his trademark production style, but 23 positions takes a more melodic approach. beautifully arranged strings sweep in and out througout the track, accompanied by a non stop rolling groove. again there is a remarkable eye for detail, clever programming and spot on sound engineering, wich makes this tune explode from any pa.
