a couple of years into honing their skills in the studio and behind the booths, the very dynamic duo known as andhim returns to get physical to present us with ‘spayce, the latest specimen of their self-christened super house genre. raised on a steady diet of hip hop and jazz, the cologne-native pair have proven to many far and wide that they are entertainers at heart and envelope-pushers by nature. taking turntables where they seldom go to turn them into instruments, as well as the heavy use of samples and real-world inspiration to set their own creations apart, its fair to say that ‘spayce is just another example of the duos eclectic, eccentric inclinations. two tracks long and spanning from dance floor epic to quirky by way of some particular glitch, piano work and musical hiccups, ‘spayce ep is a very sweet addition to an already original discography.

the untold stories: protagonist series. records dedicated to the stories of some venerable but unsung historical figures. the first of the protagonist series was created by sil, and gives a glimpse into the spirit of the first such figure: tadeush konrad. sil, the pseudonym of kirill sylantev, who is more widely known for his work in the duo easy changes, now begins solo productions. for the untldpro series his work dedicated to tadeush konrad is of confident vibe, with much swing and rich with soulful flashes from times past. this work is then remixed by ztrl and hubble. first comes the ztrl remix, with energetic bass and a wealth of tones interrelating to great hypnotic effect. then on the b-side hubble s remix, an extended work, a floating journey of warm organic sounds, concludes the story and the spirit of tadeush konrad.

the next release to be available on 10inch vinyl in late january will be limited to 250 copies and features one track on each side, both of which take you back in time. the ingenious >strictly rhythm< by monsieur cedric fuses deep house with breakbeats and acid. steve frisco pays tribute to a well-known truly legendary new york house music label with the aptly titled utterly tantalizing >nu groove< which, to make it short, a is sheer deep house bliss.
