they wanted to steep different music styles in a rock tradition and mix in some beatlesque pop, but it took jeff lynne & co until their third album eldorado to get on the right track. their most ambitious album to date, they decided to hire a 30 piece orchestra and choir to fill out their sound, and the investment paid off.
with the unforgettable >cant get it out of my head< as the lead single, >eldorado< was a commercial as well as a critical success, and it would achieve gold status in the us. the english guys with the big fiddles had arrived!

thats the way it is is the 40th album by elvis presley, originally released in november 1970. the album consists of eight tracks recorded in the studio in nashville at the marathon sessions in june 1970 that would also yield several singles and the elvis country album, and four tracks from his august 1970 show at the international hotel in las vegas. although it is not generally considered a soundtrack album, it accompanied the theatrical release of the documentary film of the same name.

something like the soundtrack to one of ballard’s prophetic visions of sunken cities, this second rse incursion was initially released in an edition of 63 tapes in 2011 and found fernow dwelling in a dread-fuelled, paranoid headspace.
