holgi legte mit seinem buddy pierre deutschmann noch einen remix auf, und als sich dann noch julie* (der turnbeutel) entschloss mit einer gehörigen portion girlpower >miss you< zu verdedeln, brachen entgültig alle dämme :-)

>the musical styles on moon harbour inhouse vol. 4< range from the deep house of luna city express and ekkohaus to the reduced groovy tech house á la tini & marc antona, andy catana and boris werner and the floor fillers by reboot and dan drastic. in this sense the selection of tracks mirrors the current breadth of styles represented by the label in its 12th year. since the third inhouse compilation, a lot has happened at moon harbour. in addition to the releases of the albums hello from planet earth by luna city express (2009) and paradigm shift by martinez (2010), the tenth anniversary of the label was celebrated with gusto in 2010 complete with the compilation and club tour, ten years of moon harbour. the year 2010 also marked the birth of the monthly moon harbour radio show. luna city express and dan drastic have been taking turns producing this show, which has already had more than 25 editions.

when the house music phenomenon was beginning, chicago djs like ron hardy and new yorkers such as frankie knuckles and larry levan would edit records for their own purposes, removing the parts they felt to be superfluous, concentrating instead on extending grooves and hooks, often adding their own basic synth lines and toughening up the percussion with what have now become classic synthesizers and drum machines. warehouse classics vol.1 holds 4 killer tracks going from obscure disco to new wave, first popularised at the music box and rarely heard anywhere else. sir leon greg (another incarnation of perseus traxx) jams out then reinforces some edits of forgotten classics with a raw & personal analogue treatment for a devastating full effect on the dance floor, that is a far cry from the proliferation of over-produced squeaky-clean software edits. these are basic, raw ideas thrown down quickly and capturing the energy on 1/4 inch tape before moving on to the next set of sounds. musically, its as delightfully funky and uncomplicated as youd expect, a mesh of disco tracks and heavy, effect laden, machine-funk. essential item!!

jason mouse is a veteran electronic music producer currently based in san francisco.he is regarded as one of the pioneers of drum n bass in the us and was initially signed to londonbased dubshack records. as a well respected bay area musician he was an active member of the phunckateck collective and released his productions in classic labels such as green label and sm:)e communications. he continues to collaborate with local prominent figures such as ufo! with whom he coauthored the late 2011 release comfort kills on subdepth records. as an artist up to speed with electronic music development and a vast experience jason mouse delivers his new release on la flaca recordings at slower tempo, invading 4x4 territory with evolving melodies, diverse textures, and drawing parallels from techno and house with a drum n bass aesthetic.

jay west from argentina has been releasing quality deep house (the real sort that is) for the past decade, last years smile ep on bebr got some serious playlist and chart action from everybody who knows their shit, and were please to welcome him to the moodmusic family. the ep starts with blame the music, the sort of feel-good house music we used to get loads of in the early to mid 90s from the big apple. swinging beats, almost disco bass and a sunshine filled vocal are the ingredients for a tune, and jay has delivered one. this will probably not be belted by the kids house community, but real heads knows what to do with this weapon. down continues the journey with victor simonelli style keys and a bouncy bassline, making place for the low-slung in & out tune which have some serious west coast mushroom influences. we love it! to end the ep the catchy little mean machine finally brings the smile to your face.
