jackie is a biographical film from chilean director pablo larraín. starring natalie portman (black swan) in the title role, the movie follows jacqueline kennedy from the days when she was first lady of the white house to the aftermath of the assassination of john f. kennedy. critically lauded since its debut at the venice film festival where it won the best screenplay award, jackie also received the platform prize at the toronto international film festival and is a heavy favorite going into awards season.
the score to jackie was composed by experimental british musician mica levi, best known for her ethereal score to 2013’s sleeper hit under the skin. mournful and eerie with a touch of the surreal, levi has delivered an unmistakable musical tapestry every bit as iconic as jackie o herself.
jackie is getting the vinyl treatment. the mastered-for-vinyl score is pressed on 180 gram black vinyl and housed in a heavy stock euro sleeve featuring black-and-white artwork of jackie. a download card containing a digital version of the album is also included.

east wall was an italian electronic dark wave band started by fabrizio chiari (ex keyboardist of kirlian camera) and wilma notari in 1982. “silence” was self released by the band in 1991.

dj t-1000 drops 4 classic hard-edged cuts of pure detroit techno on third ear. born and raised in detroit and based in berlin dj t-1000 is alan oldham, owner of detroit labels generator and pure sonik, and a gifted techno dj. also an accomplished graphic illustrator, known globally for his iconic artwork for djax-up-beats, +8 records, transmat, astralwerks and many other electronic music labels, including third ear. alan did the artwork for the defenders of the deep house world ep curated by mike huckaby, and he has done the artwork for his third ear ep also.

this opus was recorded in a room transformed into a studio, where countless hours of work happened on an old computer, with trips back and forth to the grocery to buy liters of soda. in between soundtrack, jazz-funk and house, the beginnings of this ep find their roots in the encounter between lucien and dj gregory (point g), spiritual guide, who pushed into an introspective work, where the feelings were ultimately revealed sincerely. this ep is also the meeting of 4 musicians whove known each other for a long time and, together, form lucien & the kimono orchestra.

oni-ki is the new studio adventure of old friends onirik & minoki, bridging genres, travelling through house, techno, electro, dub & ambient with their own touch, this is only the beginning. onirik also provides his solo rework of the title track.

they are dangerous is the second song released by senator gary. the riddim was build by the late great keyboard player winston wright (1944-1993) and the vocal was recorded at creative sound studio. the tune was produced by neville reid who died a few years ago. senator gary is also called imara, abbasani and now he is voicing under the name of i-maa-raa. so the quest to find him was not so easy, thanks to marshall neeko for the help.

denis sulta follows up the feverishly received it s only real on numbers with the first in a triptych of releases on his own sulta selects label. -nein fortiate- & -dubelle oh xx (jvip)- straddle the release, occupying the same sound and space for which sulta has become so renowned. both tracks are of course staples in sulta s dj sets, and have been heard all across uk & europe in recent months with -dubelle oh xx (jvip)- also an undoubted highlight on jackmaster s recent dj kicks mix. two stripped back, melodically driving tracks that rely on the age old premise of making people dance!
