the plastiscines first single barcelona is a pertinent pop rock mix, when karen o (yeah yeah yeah) meets bananarama. an efficient and sexy hit, produced by butch walker(katey perry, avril lavigne, pink) covered with an electro approach by 4 remixers of the moment. first, the french producer lifelike for a clubbing version, followed by londoners chew lips for an electro pop remix. on b side, a version from eat electric and another one from the swiss king of disco, headman.
mija recordings have hit the scene with a bang, with a track from their first release making it onto emerson todds >electric< mix on eq recordings (android cartel – return of the saint – alan fitzpatrick remix), and carl cox (global radio show) and richie hawtin both playing the jamie anderson remix of the >celtec twinz – sorbit orbit<. next up is the labels strongest release yet, >miniminds – junk dancer<.
supported by: richie hawtin, dubfire, john digweed, anja schneider, electric indigo, sian, christian martin, ivan smagghe !! trapez headliner alex under releases with this 4 track ep a stunning follow up to >muscle tracks<. titled >muscle tracks ii<, this release has a lot to offer from the housy but almighty fat >firebird< to the speeding >mustang<.
>mustang< is a perfect techno track, it sums up what a whole techno night could be like. it is a fast track but also a deep cool track, when the chords join in one gets close to heaven. it is also a track that changes gear and has a nicefeeling for controlling the pace perfectly. the unbeatable cool alex under beat and 3d sound experiments that sound as if ice cubes were rotating in a tumbler make it a super track.
>charger< is a massive track! the track seems to suck up air to created a vacuum and also sounds a bit as if there was a problem with the ignition of the charger! once it gets going it is indeed a heavy rocking track!>firebird< is a fat sounding house track, which can be plaid by house djs as well as techno djs using a cool walking bassline and a super tight slapping snare and cool house vocals on top of it! starting housy the track develops into a hi energy, appegiator driven track showing alex unders talent for moving genres skilfully from one end to the other! this is a great track!
wonderful 1970s p.c.p inspired 20 track. compilation featuring a highly charged mix of psych funk, prog, afro, glam, cosmic, rock and disco. some very rare pieces on here such as the cosmic reggae inspired 360 degrees, the groovy psych prog of the creative craniums and the raw prototype psych funk of kid rock (not that one). others will be better known to lovers of a more progressive dancefloor such as soundforce and diabolic man which has long been a big spin for dj harvey and lovefingers alike.
this great selection of rare electro/wave/disco/cosmic tracks should be able to plug some holes in even the biggest of record collections! top leftfield disco action!
smith & mudd follow their second album, le suivant with something that goes a bit darker. side a is a chuggy affair where the beats drive a bit harder than their usual tracks but the lushness and the bass groove are still there. a beautiful electric violin solo takes the second half to a different place. side b is a deep bass journey that sounds like jean luc ponty and terry callier combined with a but of led zep. fantastic stuff. check
chronicles remixes by asci.diisco & david carretta! played by electric indigo, leandro gamez, laurent garnier, moonbootica, adriano canzian, agoria, paul mogg,..
supported by laurent garnier, ben watt, dj yellow, shur i kan, nils nurnberg, florian meindl, mark knight, axwell!!! looking through my harddrive i just realized that this track is more than 2 years old ... shame on us!!! a few people were lucky enough to got it sent back then and the feedback was already exciting! the original version is a pure deephouse anthem drenched with pure soul! starting off with a moody and dark filtered string it leads into a pumpin deephouse groove ready to climax into a beautiful rhodes chord progression and that lovely m.u.s.i.c. vocal. its a perfect blend between deephouse and soul - pretty rare these days and set to become a future classic!! fred everythings mix is slightly more on the disco tip, tight drums and arrangement and a perfect addition to this package. finally we have another colab between the 2 label heads - called electric girl. its a sweet little disco midtempo groover with the typical trademarks of those 2 guys! enjoy this beautiful release - many people have been asking for this for quite a while!!
phil kieran has been in the upper echelons of the electronic music game for more than a decade, but is only now releasing his debut album under his own name. known for rocking clubs and releasing a string of killer twelves, belfast-based phil has hooked up with german powerhouse cocoon in recent times. sven väths label is now about to release shh, a groundbreaking piece of work that will undoubtedly gain phil plaudits across the board. shh seems to not only reference every sound phil has ever loved in music, but is formulated in a completely fresh and futuristic way. listen carefully and you can detect elements of dub reggae, old hardcore like lfo, hip-hop, early 90s electronica such as autechre/black dog and other warp staples, as well as the futuristic techno that phil excels in. for the album phil went back to old sound lab recordings dating back to the 1950s and 60s. utilising some of these sounds in the initial construction, he built up tracks using a combination of old samples sourced from original and weird places and some live new instrumentation as well. there are live drums, some electric / acoustic/ bass guitar and live keyboard playing as well as some choice guest vocalists.
ribn is a special unit of manuel tur&langenberg, they already released from ovum, styrax leaves. title track of a side is a very deep smoky techno dub sound. it reminds minilogue, beat pharmacy or that kind of artist. b1 lum lum is taken from the mule electronic compilation my favorite things vol.2. both tracks of b side are dubby electric slow deep house.
hot new remixes by electric indigo, mutron and akiko kiyama. moonraker has become an ep that is among the best house music has brought us last year. (mix mag). the original house mix, which is a deliciously nasty reflection of the outfits sinister electrohouse sound. the rather minimal introduction is soon enough spiced up with a clash of synths that sound industrial and melancholic at the same time, thereby creating a dreamy and utterly brilliant vibe as spacey as spacey can be. it s proggy, it s electro, it s on the edge of deep house too, but above all, it s absolutely amazing. frank muellers america mix takes care of the final remix with a more uptempo and more towards progressive club rocker featuring brilliantly sampled vox, shifting synths and lots of deep sound waves. whereas the previous two tunes engage on a hypnotic trip, this one shoots the listener even further beyond the stars right into the unknown depths of space. the uptempo rhythm is what makes this track an absolute insane piece of progressive/deep house music, and therefore a definite must-have. you simply can not afford to let this ep pass you by. 365 mags absolute number one ep of this autumn, and unlikely to be bettered this year.
an unapologetic and raucous party track roughly assembled from the rawest funk and married to a massive speaker shredding clanking riff, produced by some freak the minute we heard this demo, we knew we had to find a way to release ippfspecialops is a platform for new recruits to the ppf cause to present their work to the wider world dropped by the ppf at electric chairÆs end of year riot party, the unabombers immediately dived on the scribbled cdr after witnessing its roof raising power first hand. several months later, they provide one of their rare but priceless basement rocking remixes. in house activists leo zero and the ppf comandante himself also contribute two totally varied and guaranteed dancefloor busting reworks, already wreaking havoc at optimo, horse meat disco and many more cathedrals of decadence. bespoke label artwork from cyanide graphic one limited edition pressing
first extract from the forthcoming album >dreamer are you sad< to come out soon, produced by peter deimel (deus, the kills). limited edition 7 inch full of electric breaks and noisy guitars bullying the apparent wiseness and light melodies, calling on pretty convincing influences like can, robert wyatt, radiohead, or sufjan stevens...

with different releases and remixes on labels like anthonyrothers datapunk, huntemanns dance electric and different (tiga, garnier, agoria), xenia beliayeva and her production partner andré winter have recently set up a highly respected reputation. >analog effekt< comes longwith the original which you can check on youtube while huntemann spinning it and the more techhousy andréwinter remix.
played by richi hawtin, dominik eulberg, dj hell. kaiserdisco, mihalis safras, elektrik indigo, gregor tresher and many more. drowning pianos... urgent sounding basslines? extrawelt have written 3 brand new tracks for traum. starting with >mit liese auf der wiese<, this chicago house injected track has a classy touch, with electric pianos modulating, keeping a nice balance between techno and electro. we really think the seemingly effortlessness and the analogue feeling make this a bit of a classic. support by dj hell, richie hawtin, gregor tresher.

the debut 12inch from finnish duo hannulelauri! first up is glittering night, conjuring visions of 8 bit videogame soundtracks applied to the dancefloor, or an alternative theme to the movie robocop (which lauri seems to have a strong affinity for), with shimmering electric synth chords washing over a commodore 64 groove before a peter hook soundalike drops a lovely bassline, making new order comparisons inevitable (a good thing!). perfect late night machine funk. next is sally 2000, a more introspective piece with insistent digital strings providing the foundation for a childlike toy chime melody, pulsating bass and more as layer upon layer builds to a fuzzed out, pixelated yet beatless climax. finally, the late night vibe continues as sally 2000 gets a version from finlands techno/house master jori hulkkonen who works the tracks pleading strings into a more dancefloor friendly mix, adding perfectly tuned drums and a nice, fat kick but keeping the synth melodies intact and the tempo slower than your normal electrohouse jam. adventurous djs looking for alternative moods need look no further! another strong flexx release.

producer bradka began his career in 2002. once he entered a music recording studio, his position of a perspective young pianist was immediately replaced by a dozen of knobs, switches, buttons and cables. it was a place, where not only somebodys creations could be performed, but also a place where music history could be written. a few hundreds of his created or produced works for different performers, tv identities and commercials are found in his biography. in 2007, bradka began paying more attention to his own creative work, and since then has been cooperating with san francisco based world famous dj and producer andy caldwell and with a french recording label tubetracks. working in team with other creative people gives new possibilities to successive projects such as downtown party network. highly evaluated by the djs and the representatives of music industry duo is combining the best from legendary disco times, groovy electric additions, proper beat and the undescribable lithuanian point of view.
what sharon van etten?s heart bleeds her songs soak in and offer up to those throats in need of slaking. this is what we expect from musicians who trade in the autobiographical. we hold forth empty vessels and expect them to be filled with the reflective elements of a songwriter?s soul, mirrors within which we search for some small recognizable part of the self. ?because i was in love? features sharon van etten on vocals, acoustic guitar and tambourine, and greg weeks on electric guitar, organ and wood blocks.

france fed records to the disco explosion right from the start. most famously, the tele music players were the chart topping, multi-million selling voyage, with the trio of chantereau, dahan and pezin joined by sauveur mallia. phenomenal production and immaculate orchestration made them perfect for the increasingly glamour obsessed disco scene. but more exciting to collectors are the long running series of library lps they worked on.

the final record from oakland, cas psychedelic quartet, the gris gris, was recorded live at the warehouse where greg ashley resides. the twilight had come and the fat lady sang. the final bell tolled for the brightest sons of the oaklandish psychedelic revolution. here is the final piece to that hazy, mysterious, yet strangely familiar sound this band created. with songs from both records played with ferocity and sonic mayhem, the story of the gris gris is here. bright. swirling. gnarly. electric...
one of our best selling labels, who have really carved out a niche for sublime, chilled but chunky grooves a side is dropout –seeing coyote stepping onto the dancefloor whilst still keeping all the elements of their sound. electric guitars, arpeggios, and a catchy little melody. tranced out, chugging and laidback in equal measures. the remix of dropout by deadstock 33s-the balearic godfather himself-justin robertson takes the track into chunky electro dub bounce territory. the flip sides >how you doin< is a laid back slice of dubby balearica with a remix from the international peoples gang who offer up a supreb remake, reminiscent of weatheralls early 90s output coyote and is it balearic doing exactly what it says on the label !is it balearic…?-oh yeah
yukihiro fukutomi is a japanese house music producer who have released from jcr, king street and released from mule electronic under the name of foog. this is a single cut from his new album contact, its released in only japan. a side, open our eyes is a cover of marshall jeffersons house classic. he updated this great classic song to modern electric jazzy house version. its a simply bomb! b side, nesting is a deep, dubby house with freaky trumpet sound.this track is a similar style to dennis ferrer release on objektivity. very good dj tool for all around.

2 pin records, is a new label with a new direction in music. formed by the leeds electronic duo, >the electric press< (2020 vision), 2 pin records was created to allow tom taylor and wesley gill the opportunity to push their creativity further by creating an outlet for their own sonic experiments as well those of other like minded individuals. following the labels debut in the autumn (tom taylors brooding theory of everything) and an outstanding ep from outmode, 2 pin keep it in the family for release three with a two track ep of glitchy bumping tech house from tom and wes (aka the electric press)
ricardo villalobos playlist!! the endless white of the far north. the opening melodies of adam marshalls >north at night< can be heard faintly over the whistling wind. a small black dot appears at the centre of the distant horizon. at first it appears to be still, but gradually we recognize movement. over the next few minutes the shape begins to grow until it has defined the image of a man walking towards us. as he approaches, the music grows clearer. like the warmth of the first sunlight >rose mountain< radiates its glow through the use of a flurry of rhodes electric piano chords. adams signature percussion permeates the dub and binds its elements into an infectious groove. >mfb flex< is the counter balance to the organic flow of the other cuts and molts the warmth into a techno roller designed for the long player mix. marshall said… >ive long been intrigued by that incredible tapestry of tundra and taiga which constitutes the arctic and sub arctic of our country. ive read about it, written about it and even pulled up my parka once and gone there, yet, like all but a very few canadians, ive had no real experience of the north. ive remained, of necessity, an outsider. and the north has remained for me a convenient place to dream about, spin tall tales about, and in the end, avoid<
