kicking off the new package is way out wests own 2010 remix. toughening up the original break based drums and adding a few new synth lines is all wow needed to do to breath a second life in their ubiquitous track.
gui borattos remix takes the track into deep tech house territory. gui flips the track to a straight 4/4 beat, adding some organic percussion, side chained chords and his trademark warm distorted synths to create a truly euphoric groove.

this third release in the series mostly touches on the magic of jamie principle. however, this ep opens with a sublime deep vocal track originally released on trax sub-label saber in 1991 by ace & the sandman (who are also responsible for the virgo four tracks). featured here are some of jamie principles best tracks, produced by frankie knuckles. as with many trax releases, there are lots of unreleased , reel to reel only mixes around. we came across an unreleased version of >bad boy<. the quality is not at best, but we included it nevertheless. magic stuff!

label boss fluen delivers the latest ep from barcelona label vinyl did it, and takes off with the title track, guayaga. warped marbles burble along shiny dance floors giving way to flashbulb lights as classic house percussion washes the room. soon we are sweating to a workout of layered synths and vocal hooks as the energy builds. a clean cut house vibe sure to sit well in a properly constructed set. the edit by youandme gets dirtier with some pop-locking stuttered uprock snare hits, head bobbing bass, and dramatic fuzzed chord stabs. vocals get snipped up diced with in background chatter as percolating random percussion and dubbed out drums fan the flames of this eyes-closed groove. ripped reversals give way to a main line that will have the drink stirrers throwing their hands up, with a final warm wash of smiling chords perfect for bringing a set to a close, or taking it to the next level! on the b side, give me mores spastic clatter forms the backbeat for this classy house slab, with sleek dubbed out organ chords descending into the depths only to resurface under a vocal call to action. a short break and an oldschool snare lets the house heads know its about to get serious. the hook of yeah! drops over a bouncing bassline, soliciting whistles and whoops from the crowd, with hi-hats and added organinc percussion fills jacking up the oldschool vibes

simian mobile disco will be releasing a series of 12 inch singles, on a brand new imprint entitled >delicacies<, which will be accompanied by a club night – delicatessen, curated by smd themselves and happening at venues around the world. each track will take the name of an exotic, and often bizarre, delicacy from around the world. already on the menu are >aspic< and >nerve salad< which will be served up in late april at all good independent record stores. the first delicatessen set up shop at matter on 20th february and featured a gourmet line up including smds massive live show, green velvet, dj pierre, retrograde, boy 8-bit, joker, ralph lawson and mowgli. the next delicatessen will be at matter on the 23rd july - line up to be announced. smd have also secured a new york residency for 2010 with underground party fixed (dates to be announced shortly)
