third album young desire, again captures the fervour witnessed on lapkos live shows. taking in themes of vulnerability and anxiety beneath hardened exteriors, aching feelings, pressure and confusion, the album is a mental trip back to the schoolyard, where tough guy antics and leather armor cant hide the convulsions underneath. theres new depth and dynamic in the bands expression, fitting for a gang of seasoned rock musicians. these two art school dropouts and metal worker have come a long way from harjavalta (though they still gather there to rehearse and play) and have evolved as a band and as friends.

electric minds present gatto fritto for their 3rd release. a talented musician and producer from north london, he has been steadily building a reputation through his releases on london based dissident. extending his repertoire further he brings another quality production to electric minds. the a side bursting the bubble is a nine minute jam with quirky sync samples, heavy bass and a change in direction half way through the track which is becoming a trade mark of gatto frittos productions. the b side radio b-92 did not make its place on the first electric minds release as planned, so they were delighted to have been able to include it here. it is a sync rich track taking inspiration from new yorks 80s electro scene, a perfect compliment to what is already a very strong 12inch release. house heads as well as the cosmic fans will appreciate both productions

after the genre-smashing, seven vinyl pressings deep (and counting) success of viktor casanova, there is no way that the italoboyz could possibly top their first appearance on mothership, right? wrong! we are happy to report that they have created an organic techno masterpiece in >bahia<, enlisting the help of one of the greatest jazz musicians of our time - john coltrane. youve never heard the master like this - the italoboyz have molded the original >bahia< into a stomping peak timer as only they can. their trademark monster kick underpins stuttering jazz kits, a playful piano line, and an insistent, soulful tenor sax sample from the man himself (cleared after four months of intense negotiations). bahias intro leads into one of the most surprising and euphoric breaks you will ever hear. there are two versions to choose from - the party swing mix gets right to the point, grabbing you by the scruff of your neck. the flip sides mucho lungo mix is perfect for those late night warehouse moments, taking its time to deliver the sweet payoff

truffle music returns with andrew allsgood at the helm again. the up and coming producer and longtime toronto dj shows his promise once again with this slow grooving funk masterpiece that stretches over 7 minutes. the song travels through many sections and passes, carried the entire time by a driving dub bassline and vocal. for the lovers of deep, dubby and funky house and disco. nycs drrtyhaze (tirk, gomma) are commissioned on the remix and deliver the goods with an up tempo hypnotic stormer that sizzles with its surreal energy and simplicity. drrtyhaze use few elements from the original other than the vocal, taking it into deeper territory with a faster tempo and groove and much more electronic feel to the originals organic vibe.

stage 6 for the d classics crew...and a sure stike again. back to back re edits from nico (on his own this time), getting back to the rawest side of discofunk. a side opens it with o2 party. nico come up with a kind of mash up, taking best bits from both versions from the original 12inch pressing, fill it with advance thinking efx, and make it into a proper floor burner. cosmic disco funk of highest order we say. b side is called solutions. here we have a total re arrangement from this early 80s slice of pure disco funk, still keeping the original feelgood touch from the original, but with a real modern thinking and great use of efx and tools tweeking in the making of the re edit. if you re not dancing on these two babies... you re probably already dead.
