this winter, rjd2 returns with the highly anticipated 4th solo lp >the colossus<. making the 10th year of his career, the album showcases the myriad of styles rjd2 has spanned as a maverick,respected producer for himself, and others. collaborating with mcÕs, vocalists, and various instrumentalists, it displays an urgency and sophistication rarely seen. weaving together his trademark rock solid drums, soulful vibes and horns, samples and anything else available, the album is a kaleidoscopic look both forward and back. part impressions, part daft punk, part thin lizzy. he is helped along by vocalists kenna (star trak), phonte coleman (little brother), aaron livingston (the roots >guns are drawn<), as well as several underground mcs and horns, woodwind, and strings. a sound to behold.

its a brighter, more immediate sound than before warmer, too, with the singers voices positively glowing inside intricately woven electronic nests. but theres no lack of nuance. every track is a delicate balance of intimate delivery and cosmic sonics, underscored by a faint sense of melancholy.

after the well received all creation 12s delsin records drops yotokos >wet ink<. yotoko are shifty & domu (jcr, 2000black, archive). yotoko stands for a perfect fusion between broken beat, techno and soul.
their album is not about breaking barriers, but it is their own little twisted version of what they call techno. for yotoko techno can be heard in everything, so as such it is all techno. domu and shifty are influenced by lots of different stuff, soul, jazz, disco, hip hop, techno, some old break beat, new broken stuff.. as well 20 pence mad charity shop finds.. the album is about yotoko making music they think is cool and realizing that all this music is the same no matter what the bpm or groove.
domu started as sonar circle for 4 heros reinforced label. later on active as domu for labels as archive and 2000 black and together with archive label boss volcov for the jcr-label with their album as rima. shifty is domus longtime comrade, making his first musical public appearance as yotoko. the albums artwork will be done by amsterdams machine, who already took care of the kindred spirits releases.
