unique and strong well rounded ep from one of the leaders of canada’s electronic music community, adam marshall. the title track has been running through the dj circuit for some time now and has been causing some serious damage amongst some of the biggest names. with its sexy metallic cords and infectious rounded crescendo, it builds up to release a true form of energy that will leave any being hungry for more. reminiscent of works released on labels such as get physical, wagon repair, or mobilee. three more tracks between minimal and house packed with heavy funk.

10 Inch
07.05.07
with his new 10inch single, >deserter<, and the forthcoming asa breed lp, dear works again under his birthname to combine his atmospheric production with distinctive vocals to craft a sophisticated take on avant-pop. >deserter< is a moody, robust and elegant marriage of beats and melody, including his best lyricism to date. its dawn music, submerged in a warm gauze of synths and anchored by a relentless backbeat. the exclusive >you know what i would do< hits the dance vibe that dear is known for with a prince-esque minimalism and funk, while the flip side hosts four tet s dreamy reinterpretation of >deserter< , owing as much to classic detroit techno as it does to balearic island classics

imagine the audacity of fusing, in less than five minutes, the entire history of dance music: from the sexual liberation of 70s disco to the gimmicky black funk of chic, from dark 80s house to the ecstatic electro which lit up 90s raves and also from daft punks french touch to todays guitar riffs that are driving the kids wild. take an innocent childrens chorus backed by pulsing electronics and an arpeggiator that sends chills up your spine topped then top it off with disco violins, nice! and what better way to make bodies move, since it is dance music after all, than a mastery of production that rocks the beat in the mould of great american producers like timbaland, the neptunes and dr dre. this is a hit that is ten years ahead of its time , paying homage to the seminal house music of larry levans remix of sesame street, « d.a.n.c.e » by justice is already a classic as their pop music influences continue to revolutionize dance music culture

after a simply sublime 3 years with the success of his labels pryda, pryda friends and mouseville and the phenomenal recent success of prydz vs floyd - proper education which was a smash hit worldwide, eric prydz firmly establishes his position as the market leader with this new double a side release on pryda. eric has been busy in the studio recently making a wealth of exciting new material. as with all the pryda releases there is a firm emphasis on making devastating dancefloor tracks with key hooklines and melodies. the a side rymd has been the biggest track in recent eric prydz, john digweed and nic fanciulli sets for some time now starting with its cool drum intro and building effortlessly with cool synths, clever edits and crashes until the intense siren twists up in the break and hits back hard and simply blows the dancefloor to pieces! on the flip side armed is a more laidback classy affair that jon digweed has been opening all of his recent dj sets with. it starts with a nice swirling intro and then the filtered drums and chords arrive and it drops into a fat bassline driven groove. the strings later on add a sublime atmospheric to this already crisp track. this is yet another perfectly balanced release from without a doubt the most consistent dance producer around right now. expect universal dj support! a must purchase

killer release !!! minz is simply introducing himself by a few words… influenced by techno, house, acid & dub, minz creates deep electronic dance music with attention to detail. on the a-side, minz gifted us with the unbelievable chinese drip. a pure mix of modern minimal music and the too long left asleep « deep » side of things. this track is indeed a delightful journey trough the minz world. groovy, sexy, deep and incredibly dance appealing. oceanic oscillations starting from below the sea level and reaching the sky to dive again! clap your hands, shake your booty ! get the crowd on their knees with the tool of 2007 ! the b-side host an even deeper cut, >we are the new me< sports a basic channel inspired groovy beat, sparkling spacey sound designs and that ultra deep bassline that just get you on the floor. minz is clever enough not to follow its predecessors and develop again a very personal groovy and delightful track. finally, >none.of the mill< is a wonderful piece of the minz ambient world enlightening us with a different point of view, a different perspectiv..
fortuna marks another debut on get physical, this time from french producer paul ritch and his studio partner, anthony collins. this powerful four-tracker has a more techno approach than usual for the berlin label, but is sure to bring good fortune to any dj that drops it! the title track is an intricately pieced together affair, based on clicky rhythms and hypnotic bleeps that lead to a dark, filtered breakdown that will push the party over the edge whenever its dropped. motion12 continues with this dark theme, as deconstructed slivers of percussion and a nagging, insistent groove provide the backing for an ominous, acid-flecked bassline that keeps on building. drop this in a small, confined space and the club will erupt! pumkin sees ritch & collins explore an experimental: the rhythms still have that clicky, bleepy sound, but this time, there are fx-heavy drums to contend with and a dark, nagging techno riff that insinuates itself through the arrangement to cause melt down on the dance floor.!

CAT SCRATCH / KIDNEY SHOT
12 Inch
27.04.07
supported by djs like punks jump up (kitsuné), munk (gomma), radioclit (uk) after releasing hyped 7inch singles with klaxons and kleerup ft. robyn risky dazzle is very proud to announce the release of this harlem bomb. harlem is a stockholm duo that consists of johan skugge and martin thomasson, they have previously released records on gramme and service and have been championed by tiga among others. this techno acid anthem is one of the most defining dancefloor 12inch singles of the moment. genre destroying, fierce and rocking, >cat scratch< is a pumped up 303 stomper with a demented acid line that hauntingly stalks the listener as the relentless beat is built up and broken down. much in the same way as mmms >donna< did in the late 90s, >cat scratch< takes back dance music to its raw, dirty basics. on the flip side, >kidney shot< pushes the noisy whereabouts of the a-side one step further. technoid and funky, it is bound to set the dancefloor in motion
nice building techno track (one sided) on this obscure release.. no additional info on the label or artists but its strictly limited to 300 copies. a different version of this 9 minute anthem will have an official release on another label soon. cool record that will kill it on the dance floor and even tho that logo rip-off is very much 90 style its still kind of funny

TRANSIT (INCL SCUBA / KING BRITT RMX)
12 Inch
26.04.07
the sebo k and metro partnership makes its debut on get physical with >transit<: these upcoming house producers are so hot that this ep almost melts the vinyl that its pressed on! transit looks to the past and the future at the same time: inspired by old school chicago house but boasting a modern techno approach to arranging, the nagging bass riff at the heart of >transit< builds and builds along with sebo and metro s evocative chords to create a track that will raise the roof on any club during the peak time. >transit< never loses its raw, hypnotic groove either, and after it reaches a climax, the sparse, raw rhythm is still there, urging the dancers to keep moving. philly producer king britt dons his scuba hat to provide the remix: its more understated than the original version, based on an off-beat groove, but, like a thief slipping through an open door in the middle of the night, britts reshape gradually introduces the hypnotic chords. before you know it, his remix will have seduced any crowd who love deep, electronic house music. get a move on to pick up on this future house classic!

support by oliver koletzki, inaqui marin, angel molina… marc marzenit is without a doubt one of the covered ones of the electronic scene of dance for this 2007. spheere is track 100% marzenit, great melodies and arpeggios, explosive hit, crescendo continuous and hipnótic to the maximum. today is yesterday - claustrophobia-rmx is governed more by similar patterns but less serious than spheere, and with a definitive attack to the jugular one in its culminating point. today is yesterday - original rmx- adopts melancholic forms with a minimalistic suit in the less contemptuous tone of the word. this does not sound like a regular record? then in the cover and the label it puts it well clear r-e-g-u-l-a-r

without a doubt, mechanical is one of ambs funkiest works to date. with its deep acid bassline and its catchy guitar riffs, mechanical typifies the money shot sound. add some of ambs signature mind blowing edits and complex structure, you have one hell of a tune on your hands. groove diggerz take the track in a slightly different direction going for more of an epic electro/tech breaks tune. as is to be expected from one of the hardest working duos in breakbeat, the tune rocks.

ELEPHANTS PARADE
12 Inch
17.04.07
the music is playful, ambitious, simple, complex, fun and melancholic and not at least. it is extremely animalistic. they have an album >animals< ready to drop in 2007. elephant s parade was played completely live with drum machines, synths and analogue sequencers. the duo like to record this way (compared to stuck infront of the computer) as they get more free in creating a specific and spontaneous feeling. here one might imagine a big gang of crazy elephants getting lost on a psychedelic parade. in the middle of the track things are getting a bit weird, perhaps too much amarulla fruit, which gives the second part its childish and naïve playfulness. on the flipside bird song has a dirty, noisy, trippy vibe with a little touch of basic channel sound. shake a tail feather !! played by anja schneider, karotte, tobi neumann, troy pierce, woody

MADE UP WORDS

10.04.07
when iridite started out they really wanted it to represent a wide selection of electronic music - at the time, many of the bigger labels (and many independent ones too) seemed content to pigeon hole everything, generating sub label after sub label, each with its own micro-scene or genre. over the years we feel we ve done a pretty good job of steering clear of the obvious but we were still lacking a little in one important area - house music. although >ga< isnt straight down the line standard house music, it s instrumentation, simple repeating bassline and beats give forward motion that fits nicely with a more old school version of house along with some percussive vocal stabs and eventually, a huge synth string climax- like a cross between early ron trent, fingers inc and kenny larkin. the b side gives us two tracks from one of the most talented young producers working in the field today - jamie greer, who s tha poke guise gave us one of the highlights of ir004 (uncommon sense), moves >fall fwd< in strong style with his unique take on the (original) detroit sound - remaining completely individual, his sound is instantly familiar and yet never derivative or tired. both tracks have the energy to survive on the dance floor but the subtlety and depth to bear repeated listening at home - proper techno
toolroom mainmen mark knight & dave spoon return for another blistering e.p on toolroom trax. collaborating for the awesome title tune sylo, and then throwing individual tracks background noise & drug music into the mix. sylo is definitely one for the clubs with its chunky beats, electro tinged rhythms and massive builds. background noise is another signature dave spoon track, background noise is a straight up grimey affair with tight production and programming being the order of the day. drug music completes the ep from our very own mark knight. another heads down roller aimed straight for the dancefloor
jörg henze has been delivering the goods on his h imprint for some time. as usual there are 2 quality bangers on show here with the a side being a warm analogue bassline driven groove wit ha seriously energetic drum groove and cool stabs. on the flip side there is another fine piece of work with its speedy j influenced sound with warped metallic siren sounds and pounding drum groove
