after living in africa, south america, then london, ohes first made a name in paris by playing analog lives with the dynamiterie crew, first as they resident artist and then as the new artistic director of their new label. it is while playing live in the french city of pau that he met behzad & amarou. they shared the same views on the perception of music, thus created a particular affinity. after this event, they chose to collaborate under the boa moniker (behzad ¹ ohes- amarou), and invited him to release his new ep on bear records. in this first ep, ohes moves between a slightly dystopic robotic house, sharp discoid grooves and melancholic exoticism. this new adventure present a rich diversity in these four personal tracks, influenced by his numerous travels.

frío y vacío is a band based in méxico city, formed in 2015 by the prolific angel kauff (vocals, guitar, synths, drum machine) and jon gil (bass, drum machine). angel also created his more synth orientated stockhaussen and isotropía projects, jon is also half of the identik fact project, the other half being his twin brother jeremy key who in turn is the guest vocalist in frío y vacío s song autodestrucción . what frío y vacío do is a reflection of their name, meaning cold and void . they have been influenced by different music genres, from post-punk and goth rock to cold wave and synth punk, all with a classic 80s sound. the lyrics are a consequence of kauff s personal experiences and feelings. the music, a maelstrom of fast rhythms, sharp guitars, thumping baselines, everything to create an oppressive atmosphere, charged with a high load of electrostatic power that is released in almost every song. pure, dark energy. note: limited to 265 hand numbered copies - comes with download code and lyrics insert

byron s ballads is a dance treat on the housey-ish vibe showing ceephax s melodic skills in full flow. citylink is a smooth house/disco track ideal for cruising the ocean highways and downtown boulevards. sneaker is a poundy 303 classic with an emotional melody which is simultaneously uplifting and melancholy. haliphax is based on ceephax s earlier -friend track- but has a nice camelot chord arrangement and disco finale that takes it to medieval heights. the hague is a simple upbeat house track with wintery strings and distant pianos over a throbby bassline.

copenhagens echocord colour returns this mid november with brendom moellers magic city ep, featuring four originals from the new york based artist. brendon moeller has long been a purveyor of authentic dub-infused techno since stepping onto the scene via his 2006 sweetspot / humpback ep via echocord and has since gone on to release on reputable imprints such as third ear, kimochi sound, delsin’s ann aimee, mule musiq and of course his very own steadfast. here though moeller makes a welcome return to where it all began with some fresh material for echocords colour sub- label. caravan takes the lead on the release and in typical brendon moeller fashion were treated to densely layered dub chords, throbbing subs and expansive atmospherics whilst robust drums drive the composition along. magic city’ follows and ups the energy levels even further with pounding industrial drums layered underneath billowing dub stabs and eerie drones. ‘magic city in dub’ follows and as the name suggests offers up a reduced take on the composition, dropping the tempo and shining light on the billowing echoes of the original whilst stirring in some off-kilter rhythsm and additional processing for good measure. lastly,departure closes the package, with haunting synth drones, bumpy rhythms and murky vocals wandering throughout the seven-minute composition

dr. love is a veteran and key tastemaker / vinyl junkie on the montreal scene and laura ingalls is a wandering french person of no specific sex who has recently landed in the french canadian city and they both bonded over their love of anything disco and poutine, the main local dish which consists of potato, cheese, gravy and maybe sometimes added meat! dr love likes to dig but doesn t really produce while laura ingalls is not the most efficient digger and only seems to unearth old folk and obscure arabic music for their personal collection but has serious production skills.
