kontra-musik 006 moves the label into the analog domain of electronic dance music. this kind of sound you only get with the good old analogues. the a-side, produced by the master of the modular system, pseudonym scaff, takes us deep down our favorite techno memory lane. if techno was the meeting of kraftwerk and george clinton in an elevator, ssm 440 is the outcome of jeff mills and maurizio having breakfast at tiffanys. this track is warm, dubby and monotonous but with a drive heading straight for the late night dance floor. the b-side gives us two unique sounding tracks from pseudonym aparatus. city tunnel slowly and elegantly grinds, cranks and turns while building its way towards dance floor bliss. x-presso is best described as periodic fluctuations of voltages in the analog domain. elegant details of beautiful sound take us back to the time when minimal music still was interesting. this is >techno< in the sense that the term was originally intended. enjoy cause analog is the bastard

a perfect example for the second category is the lnz013 track rezolution. even though limited on 500 white label copies, this hypnotic minimal trip became an incredible public success over the last two months. not only, but especially on ibiza, the feos & miroir production is regularly spinned by all important tech house djs. not set the dance floor alight or keep it ablaze with rezolution is a big faux pas the party crowd hardly could accept. due to the overwhelming demand for the lnz013 (and the fact that its sold out mostly everywhere) the label decided to press a second edition of this legendary tune. unlike the tria track of the limited vinyl, the flipside comes with a re-edit version of rezolution, produced by pascal feos studio mate chris wood. extended to 8.30 minutes of playtime, he retained all stunning sound elements of the original, re-arranged them, gave great new accents and lifted the track cleverly up to an even higher, minimal house energetic level. thats why we dont call it a b-, but aa-side track

nice price deal !!! the a side is a killer lp only punk funk anthem from the sessions that spawned the legendary spasticus autisticus. this did appear once on 12 as a very rare uk only promo and now its lovingly remastered for a another go round the mulberry bush. beans in your jeans indeed! we move, possibly the funkiest of the visage tracks and a big cosmic play for baldelli. this piece of classic white boy funk is on a couple of increasingly rare 12s from back in the day but due to lacklustre mastering until now its never really sounded quite as good as it should do.

versatile are delighted with this new addition to their catalogue. a release made in belgium by detroit techno prodigy: fabrice lig. as you will notice on this new ep, the first white guys to have signed a record on kevin saundersons legendary label kms, remains faithful to the sound of motor city. a light and esoteric melody sets the tone of >x-slaves who changed the world<. the tight clap and kick drum leave room for the modulating bass. a voice similar to martin luther kings, repeats names of cities in which slavery prevailed, whilst pads stimulate the mental trip. the x slave is taken by the dancefloor, changing the world as he dances to the beat. �funk la termite� is elastic funk. binary rhythms, off-beat chords which keep the groove balanced whilst the hi-hats, like little insects, dig away at the beat, building it and deconstructing it as the sounds evolve. >the round of funky bugs< continues in the vein of creepy crawlies. here, the synths are more upfront, their acidic layering create a mixture of harmonic loops which will set all hells lose. the melodies and use of pads stay anchored in the detroit tradition, but this production fits just as well with all the current electro releases worthy of any good dancefloor
