up first, juice machine is a barreling cut with pinging drums that ride up and down in infectious style. carefully treated vocals echo up top and add a dub flavour as subtle rave horns and old school motifs also colour the groove. when remixed by re.you, the track becomes a more subdued, deeper cut with spraying synths and a sense of late night paranoia in the grooves. lastly, badass acid is a minimal cut with warm pads, hiccuping sine waves and a growing sense of synthetic tension. it s a masterful bit of slow burning craftsmanship that has icy hi hats to die for.

label bosses are back in tandem for the sixth release on micropunto: wine ep, which also marks the beginning of micropunto schallplattens vinyl era. wine ep started as a back to back game after a spillage incident. ikkaku and d-gelo started producing two separate tracks in their respective stations and every half hour they swapped seats, building the tracks as they went along. the result is this musical experiment that sets the trend for all things to come from the micropunto clan. they spilled wine on me kicks in with a deep lead stab from the catacombs. the elements appear on the scene in a stride to resurface. it goes up then down, left, rigth, it gets dubby, then back in your face. in i spilled wine the beat unfolds steadily like a bulldozer coming up to the surface in search of the true sound. next we meet the preacher. with a subtle housy piano lead he puts us in the right track, reminding us that the dance floor is made of sand and we are on the rivers bank. listen to the flow. lord techno, you are my music. originally inspired from a dub tune featuring ras ajay from the spaceship sound crew in london,dubwine closes the triangle with a huge dub flare. fat subsonic bass and broad stabs make this track a serious contender on the dub techno charts. its the producers blink of respect to the reggae culture that has inspired them all through the years, hence the vinyl release.

excellent mindblowing minimal electronic tech house

next hypnotical gel abril two tracker !! on the a-side, >200 grams< cannot be the weight of this heavily bouncing and hypnotizing tune. with a distinctive quirky line and a heavily bouncing groove like we are used from gel abril, “200 grams” keeps you moving all the way up to the main break, and then takin you back into the dubby old school groove. if the a-side was freaky and bouncing, well the ep title-track >your face is a mess< on the b-side can only be descibed as a dirty mindblowing minimal/tech house track with a druggy vocal all over and a very stripped down synth line

incl. massive rmxs by chaim & patrick zigon gel brings us into a twisted atmosphere with >very wrong<, an amazing track with an obscure relentless bassline sustaining a tripped-out melody line. an astounding piece of tech-house at its best, already destined to be one of the anthems of this summer 2007. on the flip side, >cocoon< rising star chaim gives a different twist to the tune, bringing it into techno territories and pumping grooves. completing the b-side is patrick zigon, patricks mix delivers a perfect >german< interpretation of the original and keeps the legs shaking with the melody line smartly adapted to a more minimal groove. a perfect closer for this release that tries to appeal to as many as different tastes, from the tech house lovers to the more minimal / techno oriented djs. as promised, be as one is keeping the quality standard of its output to the max making it one of the most promising label of 2007
