our exploration of ballet mechaniques old dat archives, stack full of unreleased material from the 90 s era, continues with our sixth release and materializes into the third volume of the 1992-1999 collection series. like the previous two volumes of the series did, also this ep brings to lights the diverse and varied approach of jeroen s productions: an a side featuring more ravey and uplifting tunes, and a b side focused on funk fuelled electro and idm.

herva, of delsin, kontra, mos and all city fame, offers another set of forward-thinking dancefloor bombs. across four tracks this young italian demonstrates his unique interpretation of the past and the future again and again. herva is the artist name of herve atsè corti. he was born in 1991, and has been surrounded by music from the beginning thanks to his family. he made a reputation for himself early on at high school as a talented drummer, but, intrigued by electronic music he decided to start making his own beats with a laptop. a few years later bosconi records released his early productions, both as herva both and as life’s track (a side project with dukwa). he is also part of tru west, a collective he founded with mass prod, rufus and raffaele amenta.
the new year starts with a big banger. the italian mastermind behind the famous sonntag morgen records joins forces with the abstract animal zoo and delivers four uncompromising techno tools with that special peak time attitude. the ep starts with the slightly acidic bass line monster marmo and let you come down a bit with the reduced title track dreamers. on the flip side mtd invites you into his personal techno basement, closes the door and let the stormclaps break loose. after that you can feel the broken energy in rituals on b2.
activists on the paris minimal scene since their beginnings in 2006, the group antislash produce sharp, destructive, dancefloor house music. on the decks, they rhythmically exude their passion for electronic music and clubbing. they already played in most of the prestigious parisian clubs and over europe like rex club, nouveau casino, panorama bar, bar 25, club der visionaere or overground festival.

the latest release out on separate skills recordings is written and produced by the israeli protagonists deepa & biri featuring gene. the promising talents and key figures in the electronic music scene of tel aviv have massive support by the most respected legends from detroit. there is no doubt that these young guys are musically rooted in a direction we call techno with a wide range focus on chicago and detroit. concerning their activities yaron deepa, itai biri and gene adnew are well known artists by now with impressive releases on labels like upon you, rotary cocktail, circle and material.
kelley stoltz, now a veritable godfather to the burgeoning san francisco under/over-ground (folks like thee oh sees, sonny & the sunsets, the fresh & onlys), has blazed a path since the late 90s as a home-recording guru and multi-instrumentalist. and, while stoltzs nigh-religious reverence for all things beatles, beach boys and kinks has been at the fore on recent albums below the branches, sub pop) and circular sounds, sub pop), his new album, to dreamers, blends a bit more post-punk abandon into its layered everyman pop. this new album maintains the kaleidoscopic core of sounds heard on kelleys previous records, while making inroads into new sonic terrains.
you can expect two razor-sharp and cutting edge darker techno tracks. their trademark huge kicks, heavy sub-basses are accompanied by metallic snares and hi-hats, slowly working towards a mental break-down. remixes are coming from swedish master of harder funk mhonolink. after laying low for some time he serves up a luscious firm roller with wicked stabs and programming. french upcoming techno producer olivier giacomotto is also a talent to watch. he was already responsible for a couple of stunning peak-time monsters on labels like iturnem, ape and audio assault. this ep is finished off in style as we ve come to expect!
